And thankful for all of you that have taken time out of your life for the Word of God this evening.
And we're going to have a message entitled, There is a River.
And I'm going to take it from Psalm 46. And we will begin with reading the 46th Psalm.
God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.
Therefore will not we fear, though the earth be removed, and though the mountains be carried into the midst of the sea, though the waters thereof roar and be troubled, though the mountains shake with the swelling thereof.
Salah.
There is a river.
The streams whereof shall make glad the city of God, the holy place of the tabernacles of the Most High.
God is in the midst of her.
She shall not be moved.
God shall help her and that right early.
The heathen raged.
The kingdoms were moved.
He uttered his voice.
The earth melted.
The Lord of hosts is with us.
The God of Jacob is our refuge.
And there is a city.
That city tonight sits above the firmament.
There is a city and that is where God is in the midst.
And God is in the midst of that city right now as I speak to you.
And there is a river that flows from that city.
If we could look up, and we can, and we can look up and we can see the starry heavens.
There at the peak of that, there's a dome and that's where he is.
That's where he is right now.
That's where God is.
He is there in that city.
And there is a river that comes forth from that city.
And God is real.
And that city is real.
And that river is real.
And the fact...
And our belief and our faith and our understanding that there is such a river and there is such a city, this is what will give us unshakable faith.
Even though the mountains will collapse and go into the sea, even though the earth moves, we will not be moved because our faith is in that city that shall never be moved.
I want to read a little bit From a sermon preached by Ralph Erskine in the early 1700s, he said this, The tide of joy and consolation hath never come to a greater height in the people of God than in the time of affliction, persecution, and tribulation.
Then they are readily most zealous Christians who are Christians indeed, and when zeal abounds, then joy and peace in believing abounds also.
And there's kind of a peace thing going on now.
There's kind of a peace and safety going on, and that makes me real nervous because I know what the Bible says, then sudden destruction will come upon them.
And it's easy to be a sunshine Christian, but when persecution comes, That's when the people begin to fall away.
They begin to say, well, I don't believe that anymore.
I don't stand for that anymore.
And they begin to fall away, and they begin to, some just totally go away to totally deny Christ.
They begin to deny God's holy law, but always In the fire of affliction, God's people shine the brightest.
And Brother Erskine goes on to say, when the people of God are passing through the fire of affliction, then he uses to let out the streams of the river of life into their hearts to allay the burning heat of the fire and to give them the oil of joy for mourning.
And I believe That we're coming in to a great time of testing and trial.
This is a time when many people, and certainly I would rather just have everything be peace and prosperity, but I believe that the storm clouds are not far around the corner.
In Revelation chapter 21, let's look at verse 9 and 10. Revelation chapter 21, verse 9 and 10. And there came unto me one of the seven angels, which had the seven vials full of the seven last plagues, and talked with me, saying, Come hither, and I will shew thee the bride, the lamb's wife.
And he carried me away in the spirit to a great and high mountain, and he shewed me the great city, the holy Jerusalem, descending out of heaven from God.
And that city here is described, and it's a real city.
It's there right now my friends and that river is flowing from beneath the throne right now in that city that is just above our heads and it says that this is the bride the lamb's wife and those that are preparing themselves to be the bride we will be the ones where Jesus is preparing a mansion for us In New Jerusalem, we will be the bride.
And it says in Revelation, the 19th chapter and the 7th verse, Let us be glad and rejoice and give honor to him, for the marriage of the Lamb is come, and his wife hath made herself ready.
The Lamb's wife will make herself ready, and the whore will depart and defect from him.
We're going to have two women when it's all said and done, and it's always been about these two women, the bride and the whore.
You're going to be in one or the other.
The people in the bride, they're going to be continuing to purify themselves and to walk in more obedience and consecration into God and unto his law.
Now, it says here very clearly, the way it is described, it says In Revelation 21, 9 and 10, he carried me away in the spirit to a great and high mountain, and he shewed me that great city, that great city up in the high mountain, and it's there right now, my friends, and it is that holy, heavenly Mount Zion.
Now, let's go to the book of Ezekiel, chapter 40. And I want to show that this city and this mountain, it's been there for a long time.
This has been the faith of God's people for a long time.
It didn't just start last week.
The book of Ezekiel.
And I want to read chapter 40. And let's look at verse 1 and 2. Now, usually when this is taught, this is taught that it's the millennial temple, that this is the temple that will be built during the tribulation period, and it'll be in the millennial reign, and the Antichrist will enter in and offer sacrifices, da-da-da-da-da.
You know the scenario in the Left Behind movie.
Let's look what the Bible really says.
Ezekiel chapter 40 verse 1, in the 5th and 20th year of our captivity, in the beginning of the year, in the 10th day of the month, in the 14th year, after the city was smitten.
And this is so important.
Because Ezekiel, that loyal remnant believer, the city of Jerusalem and the temple was gone.
The Babylonians and Nebuchadnezzar had already wiped that temple away.
There was no temple in Jerusalem when God gave Ezekiel this vision.
But look what happened.
In the selfsame day the hand of the Lord came upon me and brought me thither.
In the visions of God he brought me into the land of Israel and set me upon a very high mountain by which was as the frame of a city on the south.
The high mountain.
How can people be so spiritually dead that they cannot understand?
In the book of Revelation Jesus gives John a vision, carries him up to a high mountain, shows him the holy city.
Ezekiel, right here, God lifted up that remnant believer.
They were down.
They were sad.
The temple on earth was gone, but God showed that young prophet That it doesn't depend on an earthly building down here, but it is the city of the Most High God.
It is that river that flows from the throne.
That is what we want to be connected to.
Listen to it.
In the visions of God brought me into the land of Israel and set me upon a very high mountain by which was the frame of a city on the south.
The very same city.
That was shown to Ezekiel.
This was the very same one that was shown to the Apostle John.
And I'm here to tell you tonight that there is a river.
There is a river.
There is a city.
It's real.
In the time of 586 BC when that temple was destroyed, God took that young prophet Ezekiel and took him up and showed him The heavenly temple and the heavenly New Jerusalem.
The apostle John, when he was in the Isle of Patmos, being suffering and in tribulation for Jesus Christ, God took the holy prophet up and showed him The Jerusalem of God.
Let me tell you, each and every one of us, all the saints of God down throughout time, they have come to understand that it is not some earthly building or some earthly denomination.
Truly, all the denominations have become the daughters of Babylon.
But there is a city There is a city and there is a river.
The streams thereof make glad the city of God.
That is our refuge and God is our refuge and our strength.
And even though the mountains fall into the sea, God is our refuge and he is our strength.
He is a very present help in the time of trouble.
Let's go back to the book of Revelation chapter 21. Revelation chapter 21 and let's look at verses 11 through 13. Let's read a little bit about this city.
Having the glory of God, and her light was likened to a stone most precious, even like a jasper stone clear as crystal, and had a wall great and high, and had twelve gates, and at the gates twelve angels,
and the names written thereon, which are the names of the twelve tribes of the children of Israel, On the east three gates, on the north three gates, on the south three gates, On the west, three gates.
And the wall of the city had 12 foundations.
And in them, the names of the 12 apostles of the Lamb.
12 times 12 is 144, isn't it?
This is where we get the symbology for the 144,000.
The perfect end-time remnant taken among believing Jews and believing Gentiles.
Yes, that's right.
Because it doesn't matter what color you are, what ethnicity you are, if you're born again and sealed, you are a part of God's end time remnant.
And he that talked with me had a golden reed to measure the city.
And the gates thereof, and the city wall thereof, and the city lieth foursquare.
Now down in verse 24 it says, And the nations of them which are saved shall walk in the light of it, and the kings of the earth do bring their glory and honor into it.
Now this New Jerusalem This city that was shown to Ezekiel, it was shown to John, and it's been shown to others.
Yes, that's right.
This city is going to come down.
And it is going to rest upon the new heaven and the new earth.
There is going to be a change.
There is going to be a change in this old world that we live in.
In 2 Peter, I want to read 2 Peter in the third chapter in the 10th verse.
But the day of the Lord will come as the thief of the night, in which the heavens shall pass away with a great noise.
It's not going to be a secret.
And the element shall melt with fervent heat, and the earth and the works that are therein shall be burned up.
This world is going to burn.
In verse 12, it says, And upon that new heaven and that new earth, new Jerusalem is going to descend.
Now, we're getting a little, we're going to try to get a little understanding, and we've touched upon this in our teachings on the doctrine of Christ with Jillian and I. Now, let's go back to Revelation 21, 24. And the nations of them which are saved shall walk in the light of it and the kings of the earth do bring their glory and honor into it.
Now there's going to be two groups of individuals.
Upon the new heaven and the new earth.
We are going to be in the New Jerusalem.
And I don't know all what role we're going to play.
And some is going to be in a role of judging.
We could come with some scriptures for that.
But we will be in the New Jerusalem.
And the best that I can tell, the New Jerusalem is going to like hover over the New Earth.
And New Jerusalem is big.
It is big.
It's about the size in length from one side of the United States to the other.
It's big.
And on the earth...
There's going to be, when God creates the new heaven and the new earth, what did he do the first time?
He created Adam and Eve, and they populated the earth.
And he created, on the sixth day, multiple men and multiple women.
In the image of God created he them, the scripture says.
And we have every reason to be.
God is a God of patterns.
God is a God of symmetry and consistency.
And we have every reason to believe that on this new heaven and a new earth, God is going to create new people to dwell on it.
And only of the nations that are saved are they going to walk.
In that new Jerusalem.
Now let's go to Zechariah chapter 14. Zechariah, the 14th chapter.
And let's read a little bit.
Zechariah chapter 14. And let's just read the first two verses.
Behold, the day of the Lord cometh.
And thy spoil shall be divided in the midst of thee.
For I will gather all nations against Jerusalem to battle and the city shall be taken and the houses rifled and the women ravished and half of the city shall go forth into captivity and the residue of the people And this is talking about the final charge and the final siege that will be made upon the city of Jerusalem when the nations that
hate God are going to make one final thrust at the city and in the midst of it something's going to happen something that they do not expect and this is the thing today that people aren't looking for they're doing their geopolitical analysis You know, what's gonna happen?
What's he gonna do?
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
But one thing they're not counting on is the Lord Jesus Christ himself weighing in.
And that's exactly what happens.
And we read it here in Zechariah 14.4.
This is an awesome description of the return of the Lord Jesus Christ.
No, it's not a secret rapture when people are gonna be caught up and nobody will know what's gonna happen.
The real blessed hope, the real coming of Jesus Christ in the Bible will be after the tribulation according to the words of Christ in Matthew 24 and 29. And in the fourth verse of Zechariah 14, it says, and his feet shall stand in that day on the Mount of Olives.
And it is which is before Jerusalem on the east and the Mount of Olives shall cleave in the midst thereof.
The book of Acts said when Jesus arose and he ascended from there into heaven they said the angel said this same Jesus will come back like you saw him go away into heaven.
Jesus ascended Bodily and visibly.
They watched him ascend as he ascended to the throne of the Father.
This same Jesus, just like he went away, he will come again.
He will come again, bodily and visibly.
Revelation 1 and 7 says, Every eye shall see him.
This will be when the dead in Christ will be resurrected and will be caught up together with the living saints.
The father is going to send his son Jesus from the throne room of God and all those that have died in Christ will come with him.
They will come back to be reunited.
With their resurrected bodies and so shall we ever be with the Lord and he's gonna get it off with a bang.
He's going to set his foot on the Mount of Olives and he's gonna split it right down the middle and nobody's gonna miss it.
No secret rapture here friends.
There's gonna be the sound of a trumpet That trumpet's gonna sound and every eye shall see him.
Real bodies are going to be coming up out of the graves.
It's gonna be, instead of a secret rapture, it's gonna be one of the most noisy things that's ever taken place and nobody will miss it.
And everyone will see and hear it.
And his feet shall stand in that day upon the Mount of Olives, which is before Jerusalem on the east.
And the Mount of Olives shall cleave in the midst thereof toward the east and toward the west.
And there shall be a very great valley, and half the mountain shall remove toward the north, And half of it toward the south.
He'll split it just like a ripe watermelon in the summertime.
Verse 16 of Zechariah 14. It says, And it shall come to pass that everyone that is left of all the nations which came against Jerusalem Now, we're talking about, it says in the beginning of the 14th chapter, that all the nations are going to be sending armaments to come up to attack Jerusalem.
And it says in the book of Revelation they're even going to try to attack Jesus when he comes down.
Now, there's dumb and there's dumber, and that's just real dumb, isn't it?
But they're actually going to try to shoot Jesus.
And I tell you what, there's people out now that they hate him so much, they'd be happy to try.
But it's not going to work out very well for them.
But there's going to be people from the nations that hate Christ that are going to send people against Jerusalem.
There will be a remnant from them nations.
And the saved out of those nations, they will be changed in the twinkling of an eye and in their glorified bodies.
They will be in the new heaven and the new earth.
And it appears to me the Bible teaches that there's going to be different rewards and different judgments according to the degree of your sin or the degree of your service.
And it appears to me that everybody might not get to live in the New Jerusalem, that some might have to dwell on the new heaven and the new earth.
And like I say, we cannot be sure just how all of that is going to work out, but we know there's going to be people on the earth, there's going to be people in New Jerusalem, and there will also be more people born during that time.
Now, We'll go back.
Let's read verse 16 again.
And it shall come to pass that everyone that is left of all the nations which came against Jerusalem shall even go up from year to year to worship the King, the Lord of hosts, And to keep the Feast of Tabernacles.
Well, we just had a great Feast of Tabernacles, didn't we?
We liked it a lot, didn't we?
We had a great Choose You This Day campaign.
Well, let me tell you, that's something we're not going to have to quit.
Even in the new heaven and in the new earth, the Feast of Tabernacles and all the Feast of God will be celebrated Because they're not the feast of Israel, they're the feast of God.
They're the feast of the Israel of God and the Israel of God will celebrate them even in The new heaven and the new earth.
Now look at verse 17 and we can see two groups of people in Zechariah chapter 14 verse 17. And it shall be that whoso will not come up of all the families of the earth Now, this is speaking of people that will be born in that new heaven and the new earth.
And if you don't come up Jerusalem to worship the King, the Lord of hosts, even upon them shall be no rain.
Now, I tell you, a lot of people think Well, you're just making a big deal out of the holidays.
Well, yeah, that's right.
We're going to make a big deal out of God's holidays and we're going to make a big deal out of the devils because people need to know the difference.
Yes, they do.
And you think we're making a big deal out of it.
In the time of the new heaven and the new earth, Those people that are born then, if you don't come up to observe the feast or tabernacles, well, don't look to grow no tomatoes because you're not going to be getting any rain.
God's going to make a great big deal out of it.
Yes, he is.
He absolutely is.
That's why we're Gonna make a big deal out of it.
And we can see here in Zechariah chapter 14 verses 16 and 17, two groups of people.
In verse 16, the saved from the nations that come up against Jerusalem, those will be changed in a twinkling of an eye, and they will go in to the final kingdom in a glorified body.
And in verse 17, these are the families of the earth.
They will be those that are born in that new heaven and the new earth when God will start that cycle of creation all over once again.
Now routinely, this is one of the big things that's wrong with the millennial reign.
It robs you of truth.
It robs you of truth.
Every lie of the devil is designed to keep you from believing some truth of God.
And if you're going to believe Ezekiel 40 is the The Millennial Temple, the Millennial Temple.
The Bible doesn't say that, but you're gonna have that beat into your head constantly.
The Bible says he was caught up into a high mountain to the city, just like the Apostle John was in Revelation 21. That's what we believe.
And when you can believe that there is a city, there is a river, you see?
And when you believe that this is just some, it wasn't some future millennial temple for Ezekiel, it was the one that he was in right now.
Then the great prophet was caught up to increase his faith that there is a city.
Doesn't matter.
And it won't matter if they put padlocks on the doors of every church in America.
It will even be a blessing.
Yes, that's right.
I said that.
It's going to be a blessing because the Israel of God, we will be tied to the heavenly city, the heavenly river that flows from the throne of God.
We do not look for a kingdom that comes with observation, but we look for that kingdom that shall not and cannot ever be removed.
Praise His holy name.
Let's look at the prophet Isaiah.
Isaiah chapter 65 and routinely all of these scriptures in Zechariah chapter 14 this is used they apply it to the millennial reign not one word in the bible in Zechariah says anything about the millennial reign it talks about the return of Christ and nothing about of the millennial reign.
It doesn't appear in Zechariah 14. It doesn't appear in Isaiah 65 or 66. And here's a scripture in Isaiah chapter 66. It's speaking of those people that God will create in the new heaven and in the new earth.
Isaiah chapter 66. And I'll begin In the 17th verse, and my bookmark flipped on me, here we go.
Isaiah chapter 66, and I want to begin in verse 17. And I've got the wrong one.
Hang on here.
Okay, it's 65, 17, excuse me.
Isaiah, the 65th chapter and the 17th verse.
For behold, I create new heavens and a new earth.
The Bible's so clear.
I mean, if we want the truth, we can have it.
We're talking about the new heavens and the earth here.
Don't let people get away with saying, oh, it's the millennial rain, it's the millennial rain.
No, the Bible says it's the new heaven and the new earth, and shame on you when you take what the Word of God is plainly saying and twist it into something that's fitting your theology.
You are a perverter of the Word of God and a huckster.
Isaiah 66, 17 For behold, I create a new heavens and a new earth, and the former shall not be remembered nor come into mind.
But be ye glad and rejoice forever in that which I create.
For behold, I create Jerusalem, a rejoicing her people, a joy.
And I will rejoice in Jerusalem, and joy in my people.
And the voice of weeping shall be no more heard in her, nor the voice of crying.
There shall be no more thence an infant of days, nor an old man that hath not fulfilled his days.
For the child shall die an hundred years old, but the sinner being an hundred years old.
This is speaking to the new heavens and the new earth, the new people that God will create.
And it sounds like it's going to be very much like before the flood in the antediluvian world when they had long lifespans and they had some big bugs and some big lizards.
And some big giants too back then.
Yes, they certainly did.
Now, let's go back to Revelation, the 22nd chapter.
Revelation chapter 22. And let's talk a little more about that river.
Revelation chapter 22, beginning in verse 1. Now here's the river.
There is a river.
We read Psalm 46. There is a river.
It makes glad the city of the Most High God.
Let's look at that river in Revelation 22. A pure river of water of life, clear as crystal, proceeding out of the throne of God and out of the Lamb.
And in the midst of the street of it and on either side of the river was there the tree of life.
Yeah, that's right.
That's the same tree of life.
It started out in the Garden of Eden and there were four rivers That flowed into the Garden of Eden.
And where did them rivers come from?
That's right.
They come right from the throne of God.
That river flowed from the throne and God allowed that to flow into the earth and the earth become a paradise.
Wherever that river flowed, it made the earth a paradise.
That's why Eden was Eden.
Because of the river of God that flowed from the throne right into the Garden of Eden.
And we've done a study on the Garden of Eden.
It says we could read from the Book of Enoch in Ezekiel 31 that the Garden of Eden descended into the heart of the earth.
In the book of Enoch, Enoch had a vision and he saw the tree of life there.
And in the book of Enoch, it even uses the word transplanted.
And it was transplanted from the heart of the earth into the third heaven.
I believe that happened when Jesus rose from the dead and led captivity captive and ascended up on high.
Now we see the tree of life there in that city.
It's waiting for us there, my friends, the tree of life on either side of that river.
That's what made the tree of life, the tree of life in the Garden of Eden.
That's what makes the tree of life the tree of life right now.
It's the river.
It's the river, my friends, and that river flows right now from beneath the throne.
It flows from beneath the throne and the same river that transplanted the Garden of Eden into the garden and the earth into a paradise.
It will change your heart and it will give you life and refreshing in your innermost being.
Now, it's the river.
Now, I'm going to read on here, just a couple more verses.
Revelation 22, verse 2. And in the midst of the street of it, and on either side of the river, was there the tree of life, which bare twelve manner of fruits, and yielded her fruit every month.
And the leaves of the tree were for the healing of the nations.
Now, We're not going to need healed, are we?
We're going to have an indestructible glorified body.
But those people on the new heaven and the new earth, they're going to need healing because they will be mortal and they will one day die.
Though what it appears is that same antediluvian lifestyle will at least begin when we have that next cycle of life in the new heaven and the new earth.
Let's go back to the book of Genesis.
The book of Genesis, and it says there's going to be no more curse.
When the river of God flows once again into this earth, the curse is going to be removed.
There will be no curse on the new heaven and the new earth.
Now let's remind ourselves, let's go back and let's see what happened in Genesis chapter 3 verse 17 and 18. And unto Adam he said, Because thou hast hearkened unto the voice of thy wife, and hast eaten of the tree of which I commanded thee, saying, Thou shalt not eat of it.
Cursed is the ground for thy sake.
In sorrow shalt thou eat of it all the days of thy life.
Thorns also and thistles shall it bring forth unto thee.
And thou shalt eat the herb of the field.
The very earth and the ground was cursed because of Adam.
Before the fall of man and the curse of the earth, there were no weeds, there were no mosquitoes, there were no ticks.
All of that come about as a result of the curse.
Now that curse will one day be removed and this is something that is really really neat.
Now let's go to the book of Romans and we can say safely that everything that was lost in the fall of man Jesus has set in motion to recover it at the cross, and at his return, Jesus will totally take back everything that was lost in the fall, even the curse that is upon the ground and that is upon this earth.
Let's read from Romans chapter 8. Romans chapter 8. And let's begin reading in verse 22. For we know That the whole creation groaneth and travaileth in pain together until now.
Did you know the earth is in pain?
And of course, not that we're not talking Mother Earth and Gaia here, but literally the earth is growing.
There's mud volcanoes.
There's volcanoes.
There's earthquakes.
There's sinkholes.
There's all kinds of stuff going on.
We've got the Yellowstone About to pop and all kinds of stuff, don't we?
The earth is groaning.
Yes, it is.
And verse 23, And not only they, but ourselves also, which have the first fruit of the Spirit, even we ourselves groan with ourselves, waiting for the adoption to wit, the redemption of our body.
God is going to redeem our bodies.
That curse will be removed when we receive our glorified body at the return of Christ.
God is also going to remove the curse from this earth and the new heaven and the new earth, the river that is now flowing from the stream of God and the city of the Most High God.
It will flow once again into the new heaven and the new earth.
And the curse off of this earth will be removed, and I bet you then we can really grow us some tomatoes.
Yeah, that's right.
I bet they're going to be real dandy.
Zechariah, the 14th chapter.
Let's go back to Zechariah 14. And Zechariah 14, of course, all the Bible is marvelous, but the 14th chapter of Zechariah And all the book of Zechariah.
It is just really a marvelous, marvelous book of prophecy.
Now, Zechariah 14, and I want to look at a prophecy here in the 8th verse.
Zechariah chapter 14 and verse 8. And it shall be in that day...
That living waters shall go out from Jerusalem, half of them toward the former sea, and half of them toward the hinder sea, in summer and in winter shall it be.
And there we have it, my friends.
There's going to be upon the return of Christ living waters, and it's going to flow right from Jerusalem into the new heaven and the new earth.
And this is going to remove the curse.
Now, at this time, the curse has not been removed from the earth, but the curse has been removed from everyone in the Israel of God that places their faith in Christ.
The curse, Jesus became a curse for us, as Paul wrote in the book of Galatians.
Now, I want to read something here.
The prophecy in Zechariah 14.8 of living waters going forth from Jerusalem, while it has not happened In the physical to take away the curse of this earth.
It has happened in the spiritual to take away the curse of those in the Israel of God.
Now, I'm going to show you in the Bible where living waters went forth from Jerusalem to remove the curse from the Israel of God.
Now, I want to read something from a book called The Hope of Israel.
By a man by the name of Philip Morrow.
And this is something good that we really, I mean, and I've taught on this several lessons on this, but I'll just kind of give you his take on it for a truncated version.
He says on page 123, some may wonder That there should be any question as to that seeing it seems generally accepted that the gathering place of the disciples was the upper room.
Indeed, it is often positively asserted as if it were a recorded fact that the upper room was the birthplace of the church.
But the truth is that the record affords no warrant at all for the idea that the disciples were gathered together in the upper room when the Holy Spirit came on them.
And I was, my early Christian life, I was in the Church of God of Cleveland, Tennessee.
And I had a lot of good people there, done me a lot of good.
But there were some things that were a bit off, and one of them was, and I heard many sermons preached, that the disciples were in the upper room, and the Holy Spirit fell upon them, and they ran down out of the upper room into the streets of Jerusalem, talking in tongues.
And that preach is pretty good, but it isn't the truth.
It isn't the truth.
That's not what happens.
And we'll read on here just a little bit.
It says, But the truth is that the record affords no warrant at all for the idea that the disciples were gathered in an upper room when the Holy Spirit came upon them, or that the upper room mentioned in Acts 1.13 was ever their assembling place during the ten days of their tearing in Jerusalem.
In obedience to the Lord's command while waiting for the promise of the Father.
All that is said concerning the upper room is that the apostles, after witnessing the Lord's ascension from Mount Olivet, returned to Jerusalem and went to an upper room where Peter, James, and John and the other of the eleven apostles were lodging.
Acts 1.13.
What appears from the record?
And all that appears that those Galileans during their stay in Jerusalem had their lodgings in an upper room, there is no suggestion at all that the sleeping quarters of those 11 men was also the meeting place of the 120 at that time.
And there are so many scriptures that I could read, and I know you're familiar with them, Where the early church gathered together in the porch of Solomon in the temple.
And for any of you that have been to Jerusalem, you know that the streets are so narrow and so winding.
And the Bible says that there were, I think it was 3,000 converted on the day of Pentecost.
There were several thousand.
I believe that's the right number.
And I'm just, I You can check there to make sure, but it was a bunch.
And there would be no place where you could have a crowd like that gathered in the streets of Jerusalem.
It would be absolutely impossible.
Also, there is no place where an obedient Jew would be on the day of Pentecost, but in the temple, observing the day of Pentecost in the temple.
The bottom line is The Holy Spirit was poured out in the temple.
This was the baptism of the Holy Ghost.
This was the inauguration of the new temple.
This is the only temple Jesus ever talked about building.
In the book of Zechariah also, it prophesied about the branch That would build the temple of the Lord.
In John chapter 2, Jesus talked about the temple.
They accused him.
They said, destroy this temple.
And he said, I will raise it up in three days.
And the book of John in the second chapter says specifically he spoke of the temple of his body.
This is the only temple Jesus ever spoke of.
When the Apostle Paul wrote, Know ye not that you're the temple of God?
Know ye not that you're the only temple that God has?
And when the Holy Spirit was inaugurating that new temple and baptizing it here in the second chapter of Acts, Zechariah 14.8 was fulfilled in removing the curse from the Israel of God.
Living waters began to flow from the temple.
Just like the living waters flowed from the temple in the third heaven out from under the throne, living waters began to flow from Jerusalem from the precious Holy Spirit, and it removed the curse from the Israel of God.
What a prophecy!
And this is so, so marvelous to look at.
Now, let's look at a few scriptures here.
And let's look, and let's put together Luke, and it's so clear in the Scripture, and it's amazing how many things in the Word of God are so clear that are just preached totally contrary and will go along with it.
And I went, you know, I didn't know.
I was just...
Just a young pup.
I was just sitting there.
I didn't know anything.
And yeah, they run down out of the upper room into the streets, speaking in tongues.
Well, isn't that wonderful?
Well, that ain't quite the way it happened.
No, it isn't.
And you see, just like I said, every false doctrine is intended to hide from you some precious truth of God.
We need to know and we need to understand that from the temple in Jerusalem flowed living waters that removed the curse from the Israel of God and inaugurated that new temple.
Now let's look at some scriptures.
Luke 24 and let's look at verse 52. And they worshiped him and returned to Jerusalem with great joy and were continually in the temple, praising and blessing God.
Amen.
The very last two verses of the book of Luke, and by the way, Luke wrote the book of Acts also, It specifically identifies where they gathered together for worship and prayer.
It was in the temple.
And this was in the porch of Solomon, which was a huge area.
Huge area.
Plenty large enough to contain the many thousands that the Bible says were converted there on the day of Pentecost.
Now let's go to the book of Acts.
In the book of Acts chapter 1, and let's look at the 13th and 14th verse.
And when they were coming, they went up into an upper room where abode both Peter and James and John, and Andrew, Philip and Thomas Bartholomew, and Matthew, James, the son of Alpheus, and Simon, Zalates.
And Judas, the brother of James.
This says that they lived in the upper room.
This is where they were bunking out.
But when they gathered together, they were in the temple.
In verse 14, these all continued with one accord in prayer and supplication with the women and Mary, the mother of Jesus, and with his brethren.
Now let's go to Acts 2, 1 and 4. And when the day of Pentecost was fully come, they were all with one accord in one place.
And you can't be in one accord in one place and two places at the same time, can you?
And the scripture says that place where they were daily in one accord was in the temple.
In verse 2, it says, And suddenly there came a sound from heaven as of a rushing mighty wind, And it filled all the house where they were sitting.
And there appeared unto them cloven tongues, like as of fire, and it sat upon each of them.
And they were all filled with the Holy Ghost and began to speak with other tongues.
As the Spirit gave them utterance.
Now let's jump down to the last two verses of Acts chapter 2. And they continuing daily with one accord in the temple.
They were continuing in one accord in the temple.
They were bunked out in the upper room, but they were meeting and praising God in one accord in the temple.
This is the clear testimony of Scripture.
And when we understand that, we understand the significance of the fulfillment of prophecies of Zechariah chapter 14, the eighth verse of living waters.
Going forth from Jerusalem, removing the curse, just like when Jesus returns and puts his foot upon the Mount of Olives, he'll split it like a ripe melon, and living waters will go forth into the new heaven and the new earth, and it will be made once again a paradise as it was.
And everything that was lost in the fall will be recovered From the atonement of Christ, even down to the removal of the curse, say goodbye to the weeds and the mosquitoes.
Yeah, that's right.
They're going to be out of here.
And that's going to be a happy day, isn't it?
All right.
Well, let's call a little bit up in here on one of our Puritan friends, the tinker of Bedford, Mr. John Bunyan himself.
That's right.
And I want to read a little bit.
Mr. Bunyan had one of his many marvelous writings, was on the water of life.
So let's read just a little bit.
This is from the complete works of John Bunyan.
It's the third volume.
It's on page 540. He said, The spirit of grace is compared to water.
Whosoever saith the lamb drinketh of the water that I shall give shall never thirst.
But the water that I shall give him shall be in him a well of water, springing up into everlasting life.
John 4, verse 14. What can here by water be intended but the spirit of grace that this poor harlot, the woman of Samaria, wanted, though she was ignorant of her want, as also of the excellency thereof?
Which water also is said to be such as will spring up in them that have it?
As a well into everlasting life.
This is, as was said in the Hebrew, the Mayim Kayim, the living water.
It's not the dead water.
It's not the stale water.
It's not bottled water.
It's the living water.
It's heavenly carbonated, and it will bubble up in you.
There's nothing More refreshing than a drink of cold water when you're hot and thirsty.
There is nothing more refreshing when you're hot and dry spiritually to have that living water begin to flow up in you.
And I'm not talking about something symbolism.
I'm talking about something spiritual, but it will really spring up in you.
And once you're born again and have the Holy Spirit within you, you have the living water within you.
And if you will but allow it, It will spring up in you and it will be as a well that will continually be there for you that will always feed the dry and thirsty wells of your soul.
Let's look what the Gospel of John said.
The Gospel of John in the seventh chapter.
And we're going to read beginning in verse 37. In the last day, that great day of the feast, Jesus stood and cried, saying, If any man thirst, let him come unto me and drink, just like that woman from Samaria, draw up water from that well of salvation.
But this he spake of the Spirit, Many of the people, therefore, when they heard this saying said of a truth, This is the prophet, and of the truth it is.
And the Holy Spirit will flow up from your belly.
It'll flow up, and do you mean you can actually feel it?
Yes, that's right.
You can actually feel it.
The presence and the Spirit of God will actually Tangibly can be felt within your belly coming up.
And if you want the presence of God, you can have it.
You can pray for the Holy Spirit to come on you.
You can receive him just like the Bible says.
You can allow that living water in you to flow up out of you.
You can actually feel it.
You can quench it.
Or you can let it go and let the Spirit of God bless you.
There is a river.
That river is real.
And that river that flows from the throne of God is connected to you because Jesus Christ dwells in you.
And the Holy Spirit dwells in you as does the Father.
This is the promise.
of Jesus Christ and there is a river that will flow up in you.
It will be a constant source of blessing to you.
There will never be a time where you cannot connect and drink from this river.
John Bunyan here in the third chapter or the third volume of his book of his works.
I want to read something else here.
This is on page 541. Yes, the prophets and servants of God in the Old Testament did take this water of life for the spirit of grace that should in the latter days be poured out in the church.
Hence, Isaiah calls water God's spirit and blessing.
Let's look at it.
Let's look at it.
Let's see if the tinker of Bedford is telling us straight.
Yes, he is.
Let's go to Isaiah chapter 44 and let's look at the third verse.
For I will pour water upon him that is thirsty.
Listen to that.
Are you thirsty, my friends?
Is anybody thirsty out there?
Is anybody thirsty?
If you're thirsty, here's the promise of God for you.
For I will pour water upon him that is thirsty and floods upon the dry ground.
I will pour my spirit upon thy seed and my blessing upon thine offspring.
The seed of Abraham, that is, the seed which is Christ.
Galatians chapter 3 and verse 16. If you are of the seed of Abraham, born again in Jesus Christ, you have a direct connection to that river that flows from the throne.
And you can allow that river, it's just like remember in high school back in the old days, they probably don't have them anymore, but you'd walk up to the water fountain and you'd step on the little thing on the floor and you could get a drink of water.
Well, let me tell you my friends, we can step on the little switch anytime we want.
We can allow that river to flow up within us, that river that will spring up in us.
Unto life everlasting.
And as we feel the Spirit of God connect us with that heavenly city, we know that it doesn't matter.
Doesn't matter what happens.
It doesn't matter who nukes who.
We are connected to the eternal city and the Spirit of God and that river from on high is there in our hearts.
Praise his holy name.
Let's read that again.
I don't even know if, I think I did finish it, but I'll read it again.
Isaiah chapter 44 and verse 3. For I will pour water upon him that is thirsty.
That's your own requirement this evening.
Are you thirsty?
Are you thirsty?
I will pour my spirit.
Excuse me.
For I will pour water upon him that is thirsty and floods upon the dry ground.
I will pour my spirit upon thy seed and my blessing upon thine offspring.
Praise God.
Back again to the book of Zechariah chapter 12 this time.
Zechariah the 12th chapter.
And let's look at the 10th verse.
And I will pour Upon the house of David and upon the inhabitants of Jerusalem the spirit of grace and supplications and they shall look upon me whom they have pierced and they shall mourn for him as one mourneth for his only son and shall be in bitterness for him as one that is in bitterness for his firstborn.
And right now my friends the spirit is being poured out The Spirit is being poured out.
It's time for the sons and the daughters to prophesy.
It's time for the glory of God to rise upon the Israel of God, that his message can go forth even unto the very ends of this earth.
Brother Bunyan said this.
This is a good one.
It says, by this term water, And opposition to sin is presented to us.
Sin is compared to water, to deadly waters.
And man is said to drink it as one that drinketh waters.
How much more abominable and filthy is man, which drinketh iniquity like water.
We better check that one, hadn't we?
Let's go to the book of Job.
Now, here's what the prophet is saying, and the good tinker of Bedford.
That there's a good water, and there's a bad water.
People that are thirsty for God and the things of God and the Spirit of God, he will pour the Spirit of God out on you like water.
If you're just thirsty for the things of God and the Spirit of God, there are also people, they're thirsty and hungry all right, but it's not for the things of God, it's for the things of the devil.
And there's a water, there's a pouring out of sin, and there's a pouring out of satanic spirits that the Bible likes under water, And tonight, you're drinking out of one puddle or the other.
You're either sucking up the things of the Spirit of God like water, or you're going to suck up the dark waters of the devil just like water.
And yes, it is very biblical.
In Job chapter 15 and verse 16, How much more abominable and filthy is man, which drinketh iniquity like water?
Glug, glug, glug.
Give me a little more.
Give me a little more.
It can't get wicked enough or perverse enough.
There's never been a time.
Well, there has been.
We've read about Sodom and Gomorrah.
And we've read about the pagan festivals in the mystery religions.
But they're back, my friend.
They're back.
They're back.
And sin's in your face and coming at you.
And they're proud of it.
And it's not a matter just of them getting to do what they want to do.
They want to rub it in your face till you applaud them for doing it.
That's where we're at, my friends.
People are drinking in iniquity like water, but that's alright because the people of God, we're drinking in the Spirit of God like water.
And I want to read a scripture from the great prophet Isaiah, the 12th chapter in the third verse.
Therefore with joy shall ye draw water out of the wells of salvation.
It's just not the well of salvation, it's the wells of salvation.
Let me tell you what, there's many wells.
We've got a long journey, my friend.
There's a long journey.
We're pilgrims in a weary land.
We're walking through enemy territory, aren't we?
But let me tell you, there's a lot of wells out here in the wilderness for us, and we can stop and we can draw water out of the wells of salvation, praise God.
And it's a marvelous thing, is it not?
Now, I want to share with you, well, I want to read one more verse before I go on here from this thought.
I want to read the 109th Psalm.
Psalm 109. And by the way, welcome each and every one to FOJC Radio Friday Night Live.
Welcome all of our new listeners.
I'm so thankful for all of you that are a part of the broadcast tonight.
Thank you so much for tuning in.
And I want to read Psalm 109. And verse 18, Psalm 109, 18, and it says here, As he clothed himself with cursing like as with a garment, so let it come into his bowels like water and like oil into his bones.
And if you want to clothe yourselves with cursing, that That water, that iniquity will come into you to where it's going to just absolutely overwhelm you.
And it will destroy you.
And it will take you to hell.
Yes, it will.
I want to read from a non-canonical book here.
This is an amazing book.
It's not a book of scripture.
But it's about a man that claimed to be a prophet.
And I believe he was.
He wrote a book and he entitled it 2nd Baruch.
And John and I actually did a midnight ride on this way back when.
It's been several years ago, but I remember it well.
I was there.
And I want to talk about a little bit about the prophecy of the dark waters and the light waters from the book of 2nd Baruch.
And I'll read from the 53rd chapter of the book of 2nd Baruch.
And I'll read the first two verses of chapter 53. And when I had said these things, I fell asleep there, and I saw a vision, and lo, a cloud was ascending from a very great sea, and I kept gazing upon it, and lo, it was full of waters, white and black, and there were many colors in those selfsame waters.
And as it were, the likeness of great lightning was seen at its summit.
And I saw the cloud passing swiftly in quick courses, and it covered all the earth.
And as Baruch saw this vision of this cloud with dark water and white water, lightning in the cloud, it's quite a picture and quite a vision, isn't it?
Well, Baruch goes on to develop What the Lord showed him in this vision, that there have been 12 times where the dark water and the white water was poured out, and he goes through these throughout time.
He talks about the Nephilim and all of that.
But in verse 6 here it says, Now this was done twelve times, but the black were always more numerous than the bright.
And every time there was this outpouring of water, there was more dark water than white water.
And I can say right now, God is pouring His Spirit out on His remnant.
He's doing something.
Yes, He is.
There's a time of falling away and a time of people going back, but yet there's a great time of people going forward.
A people standing up and drawing close and realizing that there is a river.
There is a river and there is a city of the Most High God which we are directly connected to.
And there were 12 times When this cloud came and a time of dark water and white water was poured out, and every time and right now there's more dark water than white.
Yes, there is.
But that does not make a bit of difference for anyone that is thirsty.
For anyone that is thirsty, they can come to the fountain and drink.
You can get under the spout where the glory comes out.
Yes, you can.
Now, I want to go to Chapter 70. in 2 Baruch and this is the time of the prophecy of the last black water and this last pouring out of the black water this will be the final one at the end of the age and I just want to read this for you because it's really pretty amazing the way that this prophecy comes down it
makes it just feels pretty good I'll read it and I'll let you judge it says in chapter 70 Hear therefore the interpretation of the last black waters, which are to come after the black, this the word.
Behold the days come and it shall be when the time of the age is ripened and the harvest of its evil and good seeds has come, that the mighty one will bring upon the earth and its habitation and upon its rulers, perturbation of spirit and stupor of heart.
And they shall hate one another, and provoke one another to fight, and the mean shall rule over the honorable, and those of low degree shall be extolled above the famous, and the many shall be delivered into the hands of the few, and those who were nothing shall rule over the strong, and the poor shall have abundance beyond the rich, and the impious shall exalt themselves above the heroic.
And the wise shall be silent and the foolish shall speak.
Neither shall the thought of men be then confirmed, nor the counsel of the mighty, nor shall the hope of those who hope be confirmed.
And when those things which were predicted have come to pass, then shall confusion fall upon all men.
And some of them shall fall in battle, and some of them shall perish in anguish, and some of them shall be destroyed by their own.
Then the Most High peoples whom he hath prepared before, and they shall come and make war with the leaders that shall then be left.
And it shall come to pass that whoever gets safe out of the war shall die in the earthquake, and whoever gets safe out of the earthquake shall be burned by the fire, and whoever gets safe out of the fire shall be destroyed by the famine.
And it shall come to pass that whoever of the victors and the vanquished get safe out and escape, all these things aforesaid will be delivered into the hands of my servant, Messiah.
For the earth shall devour It's in its inhabitants.
That kind of lets me know there's not a political solution to this, my friends.
And there's only the solution of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
I want to look at the prophet Jeremiah.
Jeremiah, in the second chapter of the 13th verse, he says this, For my people have committed two evils.
Number one, They have forsaken me, the fountain of living waters.
Number two, and hewed them out cisterns, broken cisterns that can hold no water.
Many people today Are looking toward buildings.
They're looking toward political systems.
They're looking toward many, many cisterns.
But those cisterns are broken.
They can't hold water any more than a milk jug can that the bottoms fell out of.
They cannot hold water.
There's only one.
For my people have committed two evils.
They have forsaken me, the fountain of living waters, and hewed them out cisterns, broken cisterns, that can hold no water.
There's only one fountain of living waters.
That comes from the throne of God above.
There is a river.
And it's real tonight, my friends.
And for those that put their faith in Christ and draw water out of that well of salvation, it will spring up in you, life eternal.
And it will be in you, flowing up out of your belly like a river of living waters.
I want to read in the prophet Isaiah.
Isaiah in the 59th chapter.
And I want to read the 19th verse.
You know the scripture.
So shall they fear the name of the Lord from the west and his glory from the risingness of the sun.
When the enemy shall come in like a flood, the Spirit of the Lord will lift up a standard against him.
And that's the way when the enemy comes in like a flood and then dark waters pour down.
There's gonna be them white living waters flow down from the throne upon God's holy Israel of God, and there will be a standard that will be raised up.
There'll be a papal that will say, I will not bow, I will not bend, I will stand for the truth of God, the doctrine of Christ, the commandments of God, and I will not budge, praise God.
Now, I want to go to the book of Hebrews, End of the book of Hebrews.
Oh boy, I want to read another one here from Isaiah 66 and 12. This is a good one.
For thus saith the Lord, behold, I will extend peace to her like a river, and the glory of the Gentiles like a flowing stream.
Then shall ye suck, ye shall be borne upon her sides, and be dandled upon her knees.
Peace like a river.
And the peace of God comes.
That's right.
It comes from that river that flows from the throne of God.
Let's go to the book of Hebrews.
The book of Hebrews in the 11th chapter.
Hebrews chapter 11. And let's look At verse 10, Hebrews 11 and 10, speaking of Abraham, the father of the faithful, for he looked for a city which hath foundations, whose builder and maker is God.
Abraham was looking for a city.
It wasn't no earthly one.
It's the same one that Zechariah was caught up to in the 40th chapter, or excuse me, the same one that Ezekiel was caught up to.
In the 40th chapter of the book of Ezekiel, it's the same one that the Apostle John was caught up to.
And the Apostle Paul writes in Hebrews, and let's begin in chapter 12, and let's begin in verse 18, and he tells us just a little bit about this city.
For ye are not come unto the mount that might be touched and that burned with fire, nor unto blackness and darkness and tempest, and the sound of the trumpet, and the voice of words, which voice they that heard entreated that the word should not be spoken to them any more, speaking of the law being given.
For they could not endure that which was commanded.
And if so much as a beast touched the mountain, it shall be stoned or thrust through with a dart.
And so terrible was the sight that Moses said, I exceedingly fear and quaint.
That means his knees were knocking together.
In verse 22, And unto the city of the living God.
You see, we're not come to the first church of this or that.
We're coming unto Mount Zion, the city of the living God.
We're wanting a little living water.
That's what we're looking for.
We're looking to remove the curse and let that water flow up out of our heart.
And the way to do that is faith in Christ.
But ye are common to Mount Zion, and unto the city of the living God, the heavenly Jerusalem, and to an innumerable company of angels, to the general assembly and church of the firstborn.
What church do you belong to?
Well, I belong to the Church of the Firstborn.
That's right.
Which are written in heaven, and to God the judge of all, and to the spirits of just men made perfect.
Yeah, they're already there.
Sorry, soul sleepers, but the spirits of just men made perfect, they are alive right now before the throne, just like in the book of Revelation.
It showed them there.
Now, verse 24, Yet once more I
shake not the earth only, but also the heaven.
And this word, yet once more, signifieth a removing of those things that are shaken, as of things that are made, that those things which cannot be shaken may remain.
And when that great shaking takes place, All the buildings are going to come down.
All the statues are going to come down.
All the big buildings are going to come down.
The only thing that's going to make it into that eternal kingdom is those that are born again, that are going to receive that glorified body at the return of Christ.
Flesh and blood won't inherit the kingdom.
And in that shaking, all the things that have been built They're gonna come down.
They're gonna come down.
Verse 28...
Wherefore we receiving a kingdom which cannot be moved, let us have grace whereby we may serve God acceptably with reverence and with godly fear.
For our God is a consuming fire and he truly truly is.
And with that we're going to conclude our teaching this evening as always with great thankfulness to all of you.
That have tuned in once again.
You could be doing anything else with your time, but you chose to be here.
And we thank you for that.
Now, I'm going to have my friend and co-worker here, Brian Reese, come on.
And Brian, come on and let us know what's going on here on FOJ. All right.
Well, and the fibers of life?
All right.
Well, Sister Donna wants me to pray over the chat here to receive the fibers of life.
And we'll just pray right now.
Father, in Jesus' name, just let the Holy Spirit fall upon those in the chat.
Let that living water be poured upon them to give them the fibers of life right now in Jesus' name.
Amen.
