Dan Badani at TruthRadioShow.com And welcome to the Dan Badani Show at TruthRadioShow.com And welcome to the book of Philippians chapter 4 In this in-depth comprehensive study of the Bible
This is the final chapter of this book of Philippians and next we're going to move on to Colossians.
So before we do that guys, before you get any further, we'd like to do this specific Bible study approach like always.
Pray for wisdom and understanding, so let's do that right now.
So Jesus, Yeshua, Messiah, once again, I come before you, and so does everybody else here, that we ask you to forgive us of our sins that we've all individually committed today.
And please bless our hearts, Lord, and cleanse our hearts, our souls, and minds, and our bodies with your precious blood.
And we love you so much and thank you for everything you do for us, to advocate for us, and to be our champion.
And Heavenly Father, we come before you and we love you with all our heart and soul.
And we just ask today that you could give us the Holy Spirit.
to give us divine wisdom and understanding so that we may understand your work and your words in the book of Philippians chapter 4.
And so we ask for the Holy Spirit to just come into us and just be with us and just help us, give us this great information to unlock the mysteries and all the knowledge that you want to pour upon us, Lord.
And we ask you for divine intervention for anybody out there who's going through any kind of spiritual or physical problems or mentally or emotionally that you could, you know, be the divine comforter and give, you know, comfort us and protect us all from the forces of evil.
In your mighty name we pray, Amen.
And so we read the scripture context because context is key and let the scripture interpret scripture.
So, like we say all the time, don't take my word, anybody else's word for it.
Ready for yourselves.
So, open up the Bible, guys, if you got one.
If not, we'll get up on the screen and we like to plug ShakeAndWakeRadio.com, the audio network who provides our shows on their network.
So, it's pretty cool.
So, if you listen on ShakeAndWakeRadio.com, obviously you can't see your screen there.
So, I would encourage you to go to open up your own Bible.
And if you're watching on YouTube here, we got the King James Version up on the screen.
So let's do this here, because it's an awesome book, man.
This is a book about Paul's letter to his fellow apostles and bishops and all that.
It's just something of encouragement.
And the last chapter we learned about the snakes and all that stuff.
Very important to understand that because within the ministries, there are a lot of snakes and devils within ministries.
And Paul warned us about that in the last chapter.
So, chapter 4 here, continue on and this will be the final chapter of the book, like I said.
Paul says, Therefore, my brethren, daily beloved and longed for my joy and crown.
So stand fast in the Lord and may daily be loved.
You know, stand fast is like, you stand strong.
You know what I mean?
So, we do this all the time, you know, stand fast.
The Bible definition is to maintain a position, hold one's ground, and remain upright.
So, because following the Lord comes with trials and tribulations, and it's good because it makes you stronger.
I know nobody wants trials and tribulations and all that, but you know what?
How do you get stronger?
It's like when you go to the gym, right?
You can't get stronger by lifting the same weight all the time.
You need to increase it, increase it, increase it, to keep, you know, getting stronger.
And, yeah, it's just a metaphor saying that, but in this point here, we need to build up our attributes and the faith.
And the more responsibilities we take, and the more, you know, trials we take on tilt, because it builds us up.
It's like basically when you go into the military, right?
Going through basic training and all that stuff builds you up to be a better person, a better soldier at the time, you know?
So there's many instances we can use with this, but... Yeah, stand fast, be strong.
Stand your ground.
In the Lord.
So, I beseech ADIOS.
I hope I pronounced that right.
And I'm going to butcher a lot of names here guys.
So I apologize about that.
So beseech and if you want to know what that means here.
Because I forgot to.
Beseech is and again you always look for the Bible definition.
So, to request earnestly.
And earnestly is to, like, with supplication.
To make something with supplication.
You know what I mean?
Or your best, basically.
So, I beseech, request, earnestly, Syntetch.
So I beseech eugenists and beseech syntheists.
And again, I'm going to butcher these names, I apologize.
That they be of the same mind in the Lord.
And we already talked about that being the same mind in the Lord.
It's very important to understand that.
Now, we can give many demonstrations of what this means, alright?
So, basically, in your ministry, in your church, you don't want to be divided.
And I know people got different interpretations.
The thing is that you shouldn't have not different interpretations.
Of different things, because people disagree with what the Bible says, or whatever.
You know, we need to agree with what the Bible says, not our own thoughts, and our own interpretations.
Because the Bible says, don't lean on your own understanding.
Let the Holy Spirit, this is why we have the Holy Spirit.
He is our divine teacher, as Paul points out, in I think a Roman, I forgot what chapter it was, but Paul, I'm sorry, Paul points out about the Holy Spirit being that divine teacher.
So we need to not go according to our own understanding.
You know, eagles or whatever the case.
We need to go according to what the Holy Spirit teaches us and the Scriptures give us.
So be of the same mind.
That means everybody on the same page with the stuff.
Because it's very important.
It really is.
And I entreat thee also, true yoke fellow, and I don't even know what these... So entreat... I sound like probably a fool here, but yeah.
Entreat, Bible definition here.
And the thing is, why we do this for?
And if you don't know already, I said it a million times, but you need to understand what the words mean.
Because if you don't understand what one word means, it could throw off the entire rest.
And in the back of your head, you're like, oh man, I should have found out what that meant.
That's why we take our time doing this.
And if you're into Bible study, somebody says, uh, yo, I entreat the also true yoke fell.
What does that mean?
And if you just don't, you know, I don't want to ask because I don't want to look like a fool.
You know what?
Who cares?
And you're not, you know, being a fool because you don't know what it means.
Not everybody knows these words, you know?
And I certainly don't know what these words are either.
So, entreat is to burn incense in worship.
And I think that's the other one too.
That is to cede.
And does entreat mean to beg?
Alright, so.
So I beg thee also.
So he's begging thee through Yolkfellow.
So, so uh.
let's see you show now Rockefeller you Hang on a second, guys.
you look so I Alright.
Associates, colleagues, biblical definition.
A consort, comrade, or colleague.
Alright, so it's like a fellow, yeah.
A partner, whatever the case, right?
His disciples, his, uh, you know, bishops, the people in the ministry, right?
So, I beg thee also.
True yoke fellow, like a true partner, a true comrade.
I don't want to use comrade because it's a communist word for buddy.
You know what I mean?
Like a brother.
You know, a brother, a partner, a best friend, like somebody who's in it to win it with you to the end.
So he's begging his fellow people to help those women which labored with me in the gospel.
And, you know, laboring means going through hard times.
And, uh, not a lot of hard times, I'm sorry.
I do a lot of work, because laboring is a lot of work, right?
So, he's asking his true, you know, his brothers, the fellow ministers and apostles and all that, to help the woman who worked hard with me in the gospel, preaching the gospel, with Clement also, and others of my fellow laborers, whose names are in the Book of Life.
And let me see, Clement.
I think there might be a name here.
So, and I learn as I go along too, guys.
So, we just let the Holy Spirit speak to us, and a fellow laborer of St.
Paul.
Alright, so, alright, Clement is a person.
Actually, yeah, because it's capitalized.
So, and it's a person.
So, I thought it was some definition of something else, but yeah.
He was a fellow laborer of St.
Paul.
It also means calm and peaceful.
But because it's capitalized that means it's a name.
The thing is proper English and understanding helps you with this stuff.
Because yeah, normally Clement means calm and peaceful.
In monology, right?
But since it's capitalized it would be a name.
So it says that Clement was a fellow laborer of St.
Paul.
So, I beg your show, like my brother's here, to help those women who worked hard with me in the gospel.
With Clement, also.
His brother there.
You know, his brother in the faith.
And with the other fellow laborers, whose names are in the Book of Life.
So, everybody in the ministry is talking about, basically.
At the time, right?
Rejoice in the Lord always.
And again, I say rejoice.
Rejoice is to celebrate, to acknowledge that, you know, we got the victory through Jesus Christ.
Just be happy about it, you know?
And like, yeah, victorious, you know?
And let us... Let your moderation be... It's hard to highlight these things sometimes.
Let your moderation be unknown unto all men.
I'm sorry, be known.
I'm sorry.
Yeah.
So let your moderation Be known unto all men, the Lord is at hand.
So let's see what the moderation means in the Bible.
It refers to restraint on passion.
General soberness of living, being free from all excesses.
So... You know, restraint on passions.
The ability to moderation is the ability to balance Bible principles and precepts in the areas of judgment and expediency and personal option.
So let that be known to all men.
And verse 6, be careful for nothing.
Thank you.
But in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known unto God.
So supplication is... I don't know what that means, but yeah.
Supplication is any situation in which you must entreat someone in power to help or favor.
Steadfastness, being true and sincere, right?
So...
Be careful for nothing.
Just always be vigilant, basically, and careful with everything you do.
But in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, you know, giving thanks to the Lord and all that, right?
Everything He's doing for us, continues to do.
And let us, let your requests be made known to God.
So if you've got any requests, and everybody's got their own personal requests, you know what I mean?
Some people need food, you know, whatever, bill pay, whatever, you know, things like that.
Give it to the Lord.
Let your requests be known to God.
And the peace of God, which passes all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds to Christ Jesus.
And it's kind of cool, because the peace of God, right?
The peace of God.
You know, like the peace that God gives you?
When you're in the Spirit, you've got this peace on you, right?
And it says, the past is all understanding.
So, with our kind of minds, we can't describe it.
We can describe, like, the euphoria of it, basically.
But we can't really describe what it really is.
It's just, like, beyond our comprehension that we can come up with words to describe it.
Because the mysteries and all the things of God, our kind of minds can't.
I mean, within the spirit we can understand it, but with our kind of minds we can't.
So the pastors don't understand it.
That's why unbelievers and atheists and all that, they can't understand any of this stuff.
Because their kind of mind blocks them from doing it.
See the thing that separates us from them, we have the Spirit that helps us, the Holy Spirit.
That's all.
You know what I mean?
The Holy Spirit helps us understand it.
Other than that, our kind of minds would never even be able to even fathom what the spiritual world is, right?
Or anything about it.
But the peace of God is something you can't describe.
It's really not.
When you're in that spirit, and you all know what I'm talking about, how do you describe that with words?
It's real hard to do that, right?
It passes all understanding.
So keep your hearts and minds to Christ Jesus.
So that peace that God gives you will keep your hearts and minds through Jesus Christ.
Finally brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatever things are of good rapport.
So do all these good, you know, all these good things, right?
If there be any virtue If there be any praise, think of these things.
And so I just want to, you know, I forgot what retro means.
And this is what a Bible study is.
If I'll be new to this and all that, this is what you do.
Take your time and read and understand the words.
Because they're all just one word and it's no big deal.
It is a very big deal, like I said, and I'm going to keep repeating that.
One word can really throw off the entire verse.
Ritual is to praise manless valor, and that is excellent, moral excellency, the essence of which is self-sacrifice, which also is the essence of good works.
So that one word, like see all the context of what I'm talking about?
This is why I look up definitions.
If I'm not too sure about it, I might have an idea.
I don't want to just might not have an idea.
I want to know the idea, what it is.
Not just guess.
So look at that.
One word pulls all this out.
That's why we do the definitions.
And we study the Bible in context.
That one word, it's amazing, all the context that comes out of that.
That one verse brings up more, it's just like whatever letters are in this one verse, but it brings up more, you know, pulls the meat and potatoes out of the verses.
That's pretty cool, you know.
Excellence, essence, which self-sacrifice, which is what we do for the Lord.
We sacrifice things for the Lord.
And the thing is, yeah, Jesus sacrificed himself for us, so we should now have no problem sacrificing what we need to sacrifice for the Lord.
And those things which you have both learned and received and heard and seen in me, do in the God of peace shall be with you.
So when you do these things right, the God of peace, which is our Heavenly Father, will be with you.
But I rejoiced in the Lord greatly, that now at the last your care of me has flourished again, wherein you were also careful, but you lacked opportunity.
And the thing is like, don't lack the opportunity that the Lord gives you.
Not that I speak of respect of want, for I have learned in whatsoever state I am, therewith to be content.
So to be the content, right?
Therewith to be content.
That means production, whatever the case.
Content is doing something, producing something, right?
So, and I know both how to be a base.
Let me see what the base means.
forgot that too.
A beast is not humble before God.
As having failed and trustworthy him.
So he's saying, I know how to be a beast.
Not humble before God.
Because Paul, he's very humble.
And we all mess up, guys.
We all do that all the time, right?
So he says, I know how it is to be not humble before God.
And I know how to abound.
And if you want to know about means, it is to be great and plenty.
Very prevalent.
So basically saying, I know how to be... I know both.
How to be, um... Humble before God, and not humble before God.
That's the, you know what I mean?
And I know a bound, right?
And everywhere, in all the things I am instructed, to both to be full, and to be hungry.
Both to be bound and to suffer indeed.
So Paul's saying, yeah, I know how it is to fail, I know how it is to succeed with the Lord.
I can do all things through Christ which strengthens me.
So, what he's trying to point out here, right?
What's the context at?
He's saying, I'm my own stuff, right?
And this speaks to us all.
Yeah, sure we could do things strong and a lot of times we fail, right?
That's humans, you know what I mean?
But if we do things through Christ, all things we can do, if it's God's will and all that stuff, we can do all things through Christ that strengthens us.
So rather than rely on your own self-power or knowledge or whatever the case, right?
If you do it through Christ, and if it's His will and all that, He's going to strengthen you, and you will do all those things.
So now it's standing that you have well done.
That you did communicate with my affliction.
Basically acknowledging the afflictions He's been through and everything, right?
So now you Philippians know that also.
That in the beginning of the gospel, when I departed from Macedonia, no church communicated with me as concerning giving and receiving, but you only.
So he's saying that this is the only church that has Philippians, alright?
You guys, they were the only ones that communicated with him concerning giving and receiving.
For even the Thessalonians, right, he said once and again, unto my necessity, And we've been following, you know, we went through the declines and all that stuff, right?
So, not because I desire a gift, but I desire fruit that may abound to your account.
So you're saying I'm not, you know, I'm not saying this or I'm not doing this to receive an award or something like that.
No.
I desire the fruit, in other words, to be acknowledged of it, for your account.
Not mine.
For the whole ministry in general.
And the Lord says what?
Your tree needs to produce good fruit.
By have all in the bound, I am full, having received the, I hope I pronounce this right, euphritis, the things in which were sent from you, an odor of a sweet smell, a sacrifice acceptable, well-pleasing to God.
And we know that at this point here, there's no more burnt sacrifice offerings and all that stuff.
It's still, you know, the blood of Jesus Christ.
You know, we don't have to do all that stuff no more.
But he's talking about in the context here that through Jesus, yeah, we're saved.
The sacrifices we make for the Lord is like a sweet smell to the Lord.
Because back then when you committed a sin, whatever the case, and you sacrificed your most prized stock, like a lamb or something, The sweet smell of the meat and all that stuff was pleasing to the Lord.
In this case here, you know, when we do these good works and all that for the Lord and all that, the ministry, it's like a sweet smell.
You have like a sweet smell odor, right?
It's nice.
Sacrifice the scepter, we're all pleasing to the Lord.
But, my God shall supply all your need according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus.
And if you think about this, right?
God knows what you need, right?
And a lot of people just take it to be honest stupidity.
You got these ministries out there, these prosperity ministries like Joelstein and all that.
Say, oh yeah, give us all your money and the Lord's gonna make you rich.
No, God's gonna give you what you need.
He's not gonna, I mean, if he does bless you with some riches, that means he's got plans for you to help other people.
But the Lord will give you a need.
You would need to talk to Him and pray to Him.
He already knows what you need, but He wants to hear you say it.
And God will supply what you need.
God will provide.
You'll always remember that.
Especially if it's according to His will.
But if it's things that you really need, obviously like food and stuff like that, the Lord will provide.
And if you think about it, right?
It reminds me of when the Scripture talks about About the birds, right?
Does the birds worry about what they're going to eat tomorrow?
No.
They know the Lord will provide.
The fish in the sea, right?
They're not guaranteed the next meal.
But they find something.
And quietly they know they're going to eat.
Look at all the animals in the world.
They're not guaranteed a meal from the next to the one.
But the Lord provides for them.
Same thing with the flowers and the plants and all that.
The Lord provides the sun for them they need.
The nourishment and everything else.
So, if they, you know, these things, imminent objects, like trees and all that, and animals, alright, if they can rely on the Lord, and we're God's, you know, greatest creation, God gave us dominion over the earth, and made us slightly less than the angels.
So, have faith, because the Lord will provide for you.
And if the Lord provides for the trees, the Lord provides for the birds, and all that stuff, what makes you think He's not going to provide for you?
You need to have faith, And God shall supply all your need according to his riches and glory by Jesus Christ.
Now unto God and our Father be glory forever and ever.
Amen.
And swoon to every saint in Christ Jesus, the brethren which are with me greet you.
So, I want to point this out, too, because this is very crucial.
To every saint, right?
Who's the saints?
Now, if you belong to the Catholic Church, you belong to certain ministries, you know, religions, they want you to think you're not a saint yet.
You have to be indoctrinated to sainthood.
I mean, whatever the case.
You have to sit in purgatory.
And this is the Catholic Church, right?
If somebody's a saint, they go to heaven.
The regular people, all of us, right?
We go to purgatory.
That's what they say, right?
When we need people to pray for us, and Mary tends to see with us, to get us out of purgatory.
And pay money to the Catholic Church to do that, too.
A complete bozo ritual.
That's what it is.
Who are the saints?
It's not what the Catholic Church says is a saint.
It's not what a ministry or a religion says.
No.
A saint is anyone.
Anyone!
Me, you, everybody that listens to you, that believes in Jesus Christ.
That's the thing, you know, these religions take the power, the promise out of being a Christian.
They take it all out.
Oh, you gotta believe in Jesus.
That doesn't really title nothing because you gotta, you know, go through all these steps.
The purgatory and all that.
No, you don't.
There's no purgatory.
And a saint, guys, is not who the Pope declares is a saint.
When you become a believer in Jesus Christ, you repent of your sins and all that stuff and all that.
Guess what?
You not only become a saint, right?
This is great.
You become a saint instantly.
And you are grafted into God's spiritual Israel, and, and you become an adopted son or daughter of the Mosai.
And that's not all.
You become heirs to his promise.
All that, and the thing is, God doesn't have to do that for us.
The point that, you know, Jesus died for our sins should be good enough.
But no, it's not only, you're not just saved, guys.
All that stuff that comes with it.
You're a saint, you're adopted, because you're not, you know, when you're in the world, before believing, you're not a son of God, or a daughter.
We're not all sons of God, or daughters of God.
You have to be a believer in Jesus Christ.
And just because somebody's a Jew, it doesn't mean they're automatically a son of God.
Just because they're a whatever, no.
Anybody of any faith, We should be coming out, I'm sorry.
Let me rephrase that.
Anybody of any nationality, race, color, or creed is not a son or daughter of God, unless you believe in Jesus Christ.
And it doesn't matter where you come from, what your skin color looks like, or who you are, you become a believer in Jesus Christ, you instantly become a saint, You're adopted child of God.
You're grafted into God's Israel.
Not the nation of Israel in the Middle East.
God's spiritual Israel.
His kingdom that's going to come upon the earth.
You're grafted into that.
You're written into the ear of the promise.
You're the inheritance.
You're part of the inheritance of the kingdom of the Lord.
All that stuff's all that in there.
Just becoming a believer.
Then on top of that, it's like, oh man.
Think about this, right?
We get all that.
Not just that.
Not just that.
You become... You get the power through the Holy Spirit.
The power through Jesus Christ to cast out devils.
You don't need to be a deliverance minister.
You don't need to go to the deliverance school.
You don't need to be a Catholic priest or anything like that.
You've got the power within you through the Holy Spirit.
You get to minister, you get to do all the stuff and summon the Holy Spirit to give you divine teaching and understanding.
Something that academia cannot do.
And I was just talking to a person again, and they're sitting there bragging about their credentials, how they're a theologian, a master's degree in biblical studies and all that stuff.
And mocking the Bible, right?
Said, well, here's something your professor never taught you, the spiritual applications of the Bible.
That only the Holy Spirit can bring.
There's not one professor, college, seminary, school, or anything in the world combined that can give you that, but the Holy Spirit.
They can't comprehend this stuff, guys.
They got all the degrees and masters and all that stuff.
That is nothing to the Lord.
Like Paul says, the word needs to be written upon your heart by the Lord, the Holy Spirit.
Anybody that believes in Jesus Christ could get that.
We don't need a piece of paper on a wall.
You're ordained by God.
You're ordained by the Holy Spirit.
By the blood of Christ.
You don't need to be ordained by a ministry or a religion.
Only God can do that.
But Paul says, Salute to every saint in Christ Jesus.
And again, this is the time Paul is talking to the Philippians.
The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you all.
Amen.
that they are of Caesar's household.
And again, this is the time Paul is talking to the Philippians.
The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you all.
Amen.
And this is to the Philippians written from Rome by Eupreides.
So next is the book of Colossians, and it's going to be an awesome book.
I can't wait for that.
And yeah, I'm excited for that.
So thank you guys for tuning into this here.
