TruthRadioShow.com Shalom and welcome to TruthRadioShow.com and welcome to the in-depth comprehensive study of the Bible in this chapter here, chapter 9 of the book of 2 Corinthians So if you missed chapters 1-8, please stop where you are and just go back and watch them to catch up.
So, we do a specific Bible study approach, not to sound redundant on all these videos, but very important to understand this.
And, you know, pray for wisdom and understand it.
Read description context, because context is key.
This is very important to understand this.
Let the scripture interpret scripture.
So let's start with a prayer, guys, and yeah, let's get this going.
So Jesus, Yeshua, Messiah, we come before you again for another great video of words of wisdom from your word.
And we ask you to forgive us individually the sins and transgressions, abominations, or anything bad we may have committed today, Lord.
And we ask you to wipe our sins clean from us and just Dip us in your precious blood to purify us before the Father.
And Father, we come before you and ask you for the Holy Spirit.
We earnestly ask for the Holy Spirit to write your word upon our hearts today.
In this case, the book of 2 Corinthians chapter 9.
And we love you so much and please comfort anybody that needs comforting.
All these troubled times now Lord, we ask you to give us faith, encouragement, Just be strong through these times Lord.
Help us be strong through these times.
We love you so much and thank you for everything.
Please send your son soon.
We ask you in your mighty name.
Amen.
So guys, if you got a Bible, please open it up because we like to read the King James here.
And you know, we talk about Bible translations all the time, but I'm not going to get into that now because I just want to get to the scriptures here.
So we do go up on the screen if you want to follow with us.
But we always encourage you to read it for yourselves.
Even after this video, guys, go read it for yourselves.
It's very important to understand that.
So yeah, we'll read through here and then Study the word here, and again, if you're new to this broadcast here, you should know by now, actually, reading with us, we'll chop this one to weight, that we like to study in-depth in the Bible.
We don't just read through it, we really examine it.
So, let's do that.
Paul's letter to, uh, second letter to the Church of Corinth, right?
It's for, as touching the ministers, I'm sorry, for as touching the ministering of the saints, it is superfluous for me to write to you.
So, we get these fancy words Paul likes to use, right?
Superfluous.
So, that means over and above, more than enough.
So, when you go above and beyond.
So, It's like, in other words, like, just say you got a job to do, right?
And they require you to, um... And you gotta do a minimum of 10, uh... 10 blocks, you know what I mean?
To make these blocks, for example, right?
And you go 15 or 20, you know what I mean?
Just going above and beyond the call of duty.
Uh, if you save, like, two people, and, you know, there's 10 more people out there that need saving, you go out there and save those 10.
You're going above and beyond the call of duty.
I could use many examples, but yeah.
For as touching the ministering of the saints.
Again, the saints are who?
I always want to remind you that the saints are us, the believers.
Not who the Catholic Church deems the saints.
Not who the Episcopalian Church or whoever deems the saints.
That's not how it works.
They don't have the authority or power to declare anybody a saint.
The Bible specifically says the saints are the believers of Jesus Christ.
That's us.
So, for us touching the ministering, in other words, like, just admiring the ministering of the saints, it is superfluous for me to write to you, like, above and beyond and more than enough, like, Jesus is excited to be able to write to you.
For I know the forwardness of your mind, you know, just straight up, that's what I mean, forward, being forward with something.
And so he says, just be forward.
Just tell me straight out.
For I know that you're forward in something of mine, that which I boast of you to them of Macedonia.
So, again, what's going on here, Paul's talking to the church of Corinth, right?
He's saying that I boast of you, you guys here, you saints, at the church of Macedonia.
That Achille was ready a year ago.
And your zeal has provoked very many.
Zeal is to be earnest, right?
So zeal, because remember, you've always got to look these words up.
To earnest, temper, may be enlightened.
And it could also mean ignorant or misdirected.
But in this case here, in this context, he's earnest, like to be Yeah, like, excited, so to speak, right?
You're, you know, he's boasting, you know, talking very good about the Church of Corinth to them at Macedonia.
And also Achia.
Hope I pronounced that right.
Achia.
So, yeah.
Yeah, so anyway.
Yet have I sent the brethren, lest that boasting of you should be in vain on this behalf, that, as I have said, may be ready.
So he sent the Brethren, like the ones we just talked about in the last chapter.
The Brethrens were his helpers and all that that came with him, right?
And lest our boasting of you should be in vain on this behalf.
So, let's happily, if the Messedien come with me, and find you unprepared.
So he's saying be ready, right?
Yeah, that you may be ready, right?
So remember the first letter, Corinth?
He got the church all straightened out again, because there was all kinds of chaos going on there, right?
Discord and everything else.
The second letter is him tweaking them up, you know what I mean?
To get them better.
To be ministers and all that stuff, right?
So... So Emmanuel, he's boasting about this church here to Macedonia and Achaia.
So he's telling them, be ready, you know what I mean?
Always be ready, right?
And less happily, if they of Macedonia come with me, And find you unprepared.
In other words, if I come back here with the people of Macedonia, they find you unprepared.
And we, that we say not ye, should be ashamed in the same confident boast.
So in other words, I boasted about you guys for nothing.
I bragged about you guys for nothing.
Therefore, I thought it necessary to exhort the brethren.
So if you want to know what exhort means, it's to strongly encourage or urge somebody to do something.
So therefore, I thought it's necessary to encourage you, strongly encourage you, brethren, that they would go before you, come to you, right?
And make up beforehand about it.
Wherefore, we had noticed before that the same might be ready as matter of bounty, as not the covenants.
Right?
So, bounty here in the Bible means... I think it's the same thing, yeah.
A blessing, a liberally given.
So, remember the last chapter is about given, right?
You know, money and stuff to help the ministries and all that stuff.
So he's saying be ready to help these people, right?
And you know, cause they, they're looking for money from Macedonia and Achaia.
So he's telling the church of Corinth to be ready.
Uh, because in other words, you need to help these people and, uh, you know, you want them to give and help out.
Right.
And then we come on to you guys and make up beforehand your bounty.
You know what I mean?
How much they're going to give you.
And wherefore you have noticed before that the same might be ready as a matter of bounty.
Bounty, I keep messing that word up.
I apologize.
And not of covenants.
So it's given, yeah, but not as covenants.
It's like you're not covenanted.
You know what I mean?
So it's always good to study these words, yeah?
in the context.
And instability desire for worldly gains.
So, that's what he's saying, right?
We're not doing this for worldly gain.
We're not going out getting money for worldly gain.
That's what Paul's saying.
We're gathering money for the ministry here.
To help people and everything.
To help our ministry grow.
Because, if you're going to travel around, you're going to need expenses, right?
In today's world, it's the same thing.
Nothing different.
If we were to do a form of ministry, we've got to go out to the streets and minister to people and all that.
You need money for tracts, right?
For literature and all that.
Bibles and all that good stuff, right?
You need money to feed your guys.
Like, we're going to go on a long journey.
For hotel rooms and, you know, for food and all that stuff, right?
You say you want to go cross-country preaching the Word of God.
That's going to cost a lot of money.
You know what I mean?
But you're not gaining this money.
You're getting the money to do the work of the Lord.
Same thing like I said in the last video.
My ministry, right?
I don't, you know, ask for money for myself to be rich or something like that.
No.
It pays the rent in the studio and it pays for the things for the ministry here.
I'm very transparent with that stuff.
New microphone and all that stuff.
You know, the streaming services.
Let's use that for example.
I'm not looking to be, you know, gain worldly gains.
You know what I mean?
So that's what Paul's saying for the ministry.
But this I say, which he has soweth sparingly, shall reap also sparingly.
And he which soweth bountifully, bountifully, shall reap also bountifully.
So it's the same.
So you got this peep out there, and it's not pertaining to poor people.
It's pertaining to people who have enough money that they could buy the country.
You know, and stuff like that.
They're just rich people.
People who have tons of money, but they sparingly give and help people out.
You got these people all the time.
You see them all over the videos, YouTube and all that.
They'll go out and buy a pair of sneakers for $10,000.
There's one video a guy offered these Back to the Future shoes.
And some guy literally offered 40 grand to take them right off his feet, and he did.
You spend $40,000 on sneakers, right?
But you see somebody, you know, scraping through the garbage pail for food, you throw him five bucks.
Yeah, that's what the dude Paul's talking about, yeah.
The people who sow sparingly will reap sparingly.
The people who soweth, bounty would soweth mean giving and helping, right?
Doing.
Bountifully is plentiful, right?
So reap bountifully.
Like if you give willingly and help, like all that stuff, and bountiful, you're gonna get bountiful back.
If you're cheap, you're gonna get cheap back.
Every man according to his purpose and his heart.
So let him give, not grudgingly or of necessity, for God loves a cheerful giver.
So grud- I don't even know what that means, grudgingly, but, um, yeah, so, and that's, of, or of necessity, another way, yeah, okay.
That means, like, don't just like, oh, man, the heck, just give it because you have to.
Or just give to make yourself look good, or you think it's just a necessity.
I'm just going to give because that's what's required, that's it.
No, give from your heart, and be cheerful about it.
I don't know what it says, because I hate, I don't want to boast about this stuff, but when I see homeless people, I always try to carry at least a case of water in my car, and hopefully some granola bars or something, you know what I mean?
When I see these homeless people out there, I'll give them a couple bottles of water, and whatever I have for food and stuff.
And sometimes I'll go buy them a couple burgers, if it's close by.
And it makes me feel good, you know what I mean?
It's like cheerfully giving.
And I'm not boasting about it, I'm just saying, you know what I mean?
That's just using an example.
You know, people out there who have all that money and all that stuff will pay $40,000 for sneakers, but yet they'll flip, they'll be like, oh, what the heck?
All right, here, just take this money and get out of here, you know what I mean?
And don't find bucks or something.
Imagine if you have $40,000 to spend on sneakers, and it's like you just throw the money away.
Or you got these rappers, right, who are at these hotels.
They're flipping like $100 bills out the hotel balcony.
You know what I mean?
It's like ridiculous.
How about go get, you know, see somebody struggling to, you know, dig into the garage.
If you got that kind of money, I'm gonna go give that guy a couple grand.
If I had that kind of money.
And you feel good, you know what I mean?
It's cheerful giving.
Don't give it because you have to.
Or, you know, it's just like, just a necessity, right?
You know what I mean?
No, give because you want to.
And be cheerful about it.
And God is able to make all grace bound toward you.
That you always having all sufficiency in all things may abound to every good work.
So God will provide for you.
You know what I mean?
And always having all sufficiency, in other words, things that you need.
In all things, right?
He's saying that God We'll be able to make all grace abound toward you.
So you help and give and be cheerful, right?
Doing it.
And God will provide.
He'll give you everything you sufficiently need.
Then it may abound to every good work.
it.
And you got people saying, oh, well, we say it's good by grace, not good works.
Yes.
But you need to produce good works, too.
Grace saves you, yeah, absolutely, yeah.
Not just good works.
But your true tree needs to produce good fruit.
You need to have good works, so.
You need to help people out.
And if you have the money and the resources to do it, do it.
Help people out.
Yeah, if there's a struggle in real ministries out there, and, you know, people out there struggling in the streets, guys, help them out.
And be cheerful about it, right?
And as it is written, which he's referring to the Torah, right?
He has the spirit abroad.
He has given to the poor.
His righteousness remains forever.
You know, Jesus says if he thirsts, give him drink.
If he hungers, give him hunger.
If he's naked, give him clothing.
Talk about people that need it.
And if you give to the poor, his righteousness remains forever.
Now he that ministered seed to the sower, both minister bread for your food, and multiply your seed so, and increase the fruits of your righteousness.
Remember the parable of the seed?
In Talmud?
Yeah, the parable of the seed.
And it's amazing that Paul talked just like Jesus did.
Saying, as it is written, that Jesus used to say that all the time.
Right?
Right there.
They give examples.
This is why, again, like I was saying earlier, this is why they don't like Paul.
Because Jesus spoke verbatim what Jesus taught him.
I'm sorry, Paul to, excuse me, let me retract that.
Paul spoke verbatim to, like, of Jesus, of what Jesus taught him.
Paul didn't say anything out of his own mouth.
He only spoke, uh, ministered to people what Jesus taught him.
That's why he spoke, speaks like Jesus.
Saying, as it is written, and all that stuff, right?
Multiply your seeds, sir, and increase your fruits of righteousness.
He can't say, oh, I'm just saving, I'm not gonna do nothing.
You're a lukewarm Christian.
The Bible talks about that.
We're not out there helping people in any such way.
I mean, you need to help people.
That's what we're here for.
We're supposed to be the light and salt of the earth.
How can you be the light and salt of the earth when you're sitting in your pews all day?
or in your home not doing anything to help society.
And when it says a given, as we talked about in the last chapter, Yeah, give equally.
In other words, pay your bills, yes.
Don't sacrifice your bills.
Or it costs for your family.
Don't do that.
But, like, give equally.
In other words, like I said in the last chapter, right?
If you need $50 of food, you get $100.
Don't just throw the $100 away to somebody, right?
Get your food and give what you can.
that's what it's saying.
So being enriched in everything to all a bounty for us, which causes to us thanksgiving to God.
Thank you.
Be enriched, like be abundant, you know what I mean?
And all that's bountiful.
Like exceedingly, you know?
And for the administration of this service, not only supplies the wants of the saints, but is abundant also by many things given unto God.
So the ministration of the service, which is like the people in the ministry, right?
That Paul's talking about.
Not only supplies the wants of the saints.
Again, like we talked about, we all got bills to pay, right?
If we give and help things out, people are, right?
God's going to provide our wants.
And sometimes it's going to be abundant and also in many thanksgivings of God.
Well, I'm sure it's all the time.
It's going to be abundant with many thanksgivings of God.
Because you're thanking God for providing and also helping other people out.
It's a great feeling.
God will provide you what you need.
He'll provide you the money for the food, and rent, and car payment, whatever the case, and also at the same time, when you're giving people the money that you have, right?
God's going to provide for you.
And you're gonna be full of joy and all that, and have much thanksgiving to the Lord.
So what does liberal mean?
the experiment of the administration, they glorify God for your professed subjection unto the gospel of Christ and for your liberal distribution unto them and unto all men.
So what does liberal mean?
I know in the world today, it's like in the political term, it's like it could be a bad thing most of the time, but whatever.
But in this case, no.
Liberals mean to give a lot.
Like, just be exceedingly.
Be liberal about it.
you know, just give freely.
And by their prayer for you, which long after you for exceedingly grace of God unto you.
And you.
The exceeding grace of God in you.
Thanks be unto God for unspeakable gift.
The unspeakable gift.
I'm sorry guys, I butchered that.
Thanks be unto God for His unspeakable gift.
Which is grace and things that you need and everything else, right?
But you need to give at the same time.
That's what Paul's trying to say.
The overall message of this, well, it's only 15 verses, short chapter.
But what Paul's trying to say is just give exceedingly.
Give with gladness and joy.
Don't give because you're frustrated to do it, or just like, oh, I've just got to give because I have to.
No.
Just do it out of the joy of your heart.
And at the same time, the Lord's going to provide for you, too.
Yeah, it's amazing.
It really is.
