TruthRadioShow.com Shalom and welcome to TruthRadioShow.com and welcome to our in-depth copy-up study of the Bible, 2 Corinthians 6.
So if you missed chapters 1 through 6, please go back and watch it before going any further.
So like always guys, we like to start with the Bible study approach.
Very important to do.
We pray for wisdom and understanding, so let's pray right now.
To Jesus Yeshua, we come before you once again to pray for forgiveness of our sins, like the dumb things we do every day, Lord.
And we ask you to cover our sins with your precious blood.
And we repent and confess our sins to you in trespasses, transgressions, or any abominations.
And thank you so much for everything you do for us.
Thank you for going to Calvary for us.
And thank you for advocating continuously for us against Satan.
And continuously advocating for us before the Father.
And we ask you, Father, that you could write your divine word upon our hearts today with the Holy Spirit.
And we ask you to put the Holy Spirit in our hearts, Lord, to write 2 Corinthians chapter 7 upon our hearts today so we gain full wisdom and understanding.
And please protect everybody out there from the forces we will protect myself and this broadcast as well in our ministry.
And we ask you to heal anybody that needs healing or comfort anybody that needs comforting with the great Holy Spirit.
And we love you so much.
In your mighty name, we thank you and love you forever.
Amen.
Alright guys, prayer is very important because what you do is you get clean, spiritually clean, and then you're wide open for the Holy Spirit to come into you to teach the Scriptures.
This is something a lot of ministries and churches don't do, unfortunately.
And I'm not trying to compare myself to anybody else.
This is just what I do here.
But this is what's very important because we've read Scripture that says this stuff.
So, also we read description context.
Very important to do, especially with Paul's books.
It's hard to understand Paul if you read a couple of verses here and there.
And when you read his verses in context, it's easy to understand.
So, read the scripture in context, because context is key, and let the scripture interpret scripture.
So, open up your Bible, guys.
We've got up on video, King James Version, 2 Corinthians, Chapter 7.
So, let's begin.
So, having therefore these promises, dearly beloved, let us cleanse ourselves from all filthiness of the flesh and of spirit, perfected holiness in the fear of God, So, very important stuff to understand here, right?
There's a lot of context involved here.
And this is a continuation of Chapter 6, as we just read.
And again, if you didn't read Chapter 6, go back and watch it, and then come back here.
So having, therefore, these promises, the promises were, right?
Chapter 6, we'll go right back to the end.
And says, uh, wherefore come out of them, you know, get away from these people that lead you to sin, and be separate, says the Lord, and touch not anything unclean, and I will receive you.
And I will be your father, father unto you, and you shall be my sons and daughters, says the Lord Almighty.
And continuing on, that having therefore these promises that God just gave us, that we will be his sons and daughters.
He will be our father.
To have these promises, dearly beloved, let us cleanse ourselves from all filthiness.
And every day, guys, I don't care who you are, alright?
Every day.
Especially you men out there, alright?
Every day, some sort of filthiness comes to our heads.
Especially with the world today, I mean, yeah, I don't need to explain anything, but you know what I'm talking about.
And a woman is no different either, don't let them fool you.
So, some sort of filthiness comes to our heads.
In Gospel, whether you do it or not, it still comes to your head.
Because remember Jesus says that when you look upon a girl lustfully, what?
You've already committed adultery with her in your heart.
You don't even have to even touch her or talk to her.
You've already committed adultery with her.
That's filthiness.
So cleanse ourselves.
How do you do that?
This is what we just did.
We pray to the Lord.
Get ourselves spiritually clean.
That's how you do that.
For more filthiness of the flesh and the spirit.
So flesh is like basically love for the flesh.
Lust for the flesh.
Things like that.
And the spirit too.
Spiritually, you could be, you know, thinking filthiness things, or committing filthiness things.
Perfecting holiness, we're supposed to perfect holiness in the fear of God.
Now, we would never be perfect ourselves until we're in the spirit, right?
But we're supposed to perfect this holiness in the fear of God.
So, what's the fear of God?
It's the beginning of all wisdom.
That's what the scriptures tell us, right?
The beginning of all wisdom is the fear of God.
So, I want to define fear for a minute, okay?
Because people dramatically take this out of context.
Does it mean we're supposed to be deathly afraid of God?
And like, oh man, aren't you?
In a sort of way, yes.
Then I'm going to explain this, right?
So obviously we all grew up with fathers in our lives, earthly fathers, dads, right?
So, this is the same thing.
The same day.
Like our Heavenly Father, right?
We have no need to fear Him when we're living in the faith.
When we're living in perfect holiness, there's no need to fear Him.
But, and you keep that fear in your mind, that you cross Him or do something bad, that could be major consequences.
Just like your earthly father, right?
If you're a good boy or a good girl, you don't have to worry about punishment and the beatings, or anything like that, right?
But if you do something bad, you're like, yeah, oh crap.
Yeah, oh crap is right.
That's when your dad took out the belt or whatever happened, you know what I mean?
That's exactly what this is saying.
And this is where you do something stupid, like we all do, and the Lord whips out his belt.
And that could mean millions of things.
So that's what that means.
We love Him, He loves us, right?
And you shouldn't have to fear Him if you're not doing anything bad.
But you should very well fear Him, and yeah, if you cross Him, or blaspheme Him and everything else, yeah, He will not be mocked, plain and simple, even by believers.
Because you got some believers out there who take the Holy Spirit as a female, that's blasphemy.
Jesus clearly said, yeah, you will not be forgiven for that sin.
And you got people out there who, and this is despicable.
I know many believers who sit there and use the Lord's name in vain.
That to me, excuse my language, pisses me off more than anything.
Especially growing up in a Catholic family at the time.
Yo, so holier than thou art on Sundays, right?
But every other word is, you know, using the Lord's name in vain.
Growing up in an Italian family.
You know what I mean?
And that goes everywhere.
And I was noticing too.
Every Hollywood movie.
Every one of them.
Just about.
Especially the R-rated ones.
I don't think the X-rate is on TV.
But the R-rated ones.
They always use the world's name and fame.
All the time.
You can't be doing that stuff guys.
I think I said the GD word.
I think I said it maybe once or twice in my life.
And I'm not better than anybody else.
But when I did, I saw a man die.
I got hit hard with a police car.
I felt a deep conviction.
I don't care.
Okay, I'm going to be dramatic.
I don't care if you've seen your whole family slaughtered in front of you.
There's no darn reason to use that word.
I'm sorry, his name in vain.
None.
People use the Father's name in vain, Jesus' name in vain.
No need to do that.
I don't care what has happened to you.
Don't care what you have seen.
Don't care what you've been through.
There's no reason to use that at all, in vain.
I don't care what your excuse is.
That just ticks me off to no end.
Sorry to cuss with the piss word, whatever.
Whatever, I can't get the point.
It just like really does piss me off and I'm gonna use it exactly like that.
No need to do that, and that just irritates the heck out of me when people, especially believers, I just want to crack them on.
That's just one of many things, yeah.
So, having therefore our promises, dearly beloved, let us cleanse ourselves from all filthiness of the flesh and the spirit, both, right?
Perfecting holiness in the fear of God.
You fear God as you fear your earthly father, right?
Because He is our Father.
All our Father.
So receive us.
We have wronged no man.
We have corrupted no man.
We have defrauded no man.
And this is why at the last chapter He said to be blameless.
When you do the ministry, don't wrong anybody.
Don't corrupt no man.
And the thing is when you're preaching the Word of God, straight from the Word of God, and not our own interpretations or some ministry's or church's interpretation, Yeah, you're not corrupting no man.
You're not defrauding nobody.
I speak not this to condemn you, for I have said before that you in your hearts to die and live with you.
So I'm sorry, that ye are in the hearts to die and to live with you.
So same thing with me, I'm not condemning nobody.
You know what I mean?
And I know what I was like, just lashing out about people use the Lord's name in vain.
I'm not condemning you, it just ticks me off when people do that.
Do you know who you're cursing?
Do you know who you're, you know what I mean?
That's the third commandment.
Don't use the Lord's name in vain.
That's a very serious event.
Oh, everybody does it, you know, blah blah.
God knows my heart.
I hate when people say that, God knows my heart.
Of course He knows your heart, because they're filthy.
Our hearts are filthy.
You gotta question yourself, do you know God's heart?
And I know in the dispensationals out there, oh no, no, it's uh, the commandments are abolished when abolished is no such thing.
So you take speaking the Lord's name in vain now is good now, it's okay to do.
If you think that, you know, you really need to turn this video off right now.
Seriously, I don't care how long you've been in the faith, whatever.
You need to turn this video off right now, get on your hands and knees and repent.
That's what you need to do.
If you think for one minute that you're free, because I'm saved by grace, I can go use the Lord's name in vain, then you're going to go to heaven.
You got another thing coming.
You need to repent of those sins and ask for forgiveness.
That's an abomination.
It's not a sin.
It's an abomination.
No need to use the Lord's name again.
It disgusts me when people do that.
Great is my boldness of speech toward you.
That's what I'm being, bold too.
That's why I can relate to Paul, because I don't sugarcoat nothing.
You realize right now guys, if Paul was to come alive today, he went into the big churches out there, right?
They would, oh man, they would vastly condemn him.
They would condemn him to hear the kingdom come.
Because he would not be politically correct.
That's why I try to go after Paul here.
Emulate him, because I don't care what people say.
I don't care if it violates political correctness.
I'm gonna tell you the way it is.
It's a tough pill to swallow, or well, put your big boy pants on, your big girl pants on, and get over it.
If it offends you, that means you're guilty.
So get over it.
I had to get over it.
I had to swallow that big pill.
That's when I put my big boy pants on.
It's like, you know what?
I'm not gonna make excuses for it no more.
I'm gonna accept it for what it is, what the scripture tells me.
And great was Paul's boldness in speech.
Darn right it was.
He would tell you right off.
That's why they were calling people generation of vipers.
These Jews and all that stuff, these Jewish leaders.
And they would darn well be calling the Billy Grahams, the Pat Robinsons, you know, Billy Graham's dead and all about.
Yeah, you get the point.
These big TV ministries and all that stuff.
Paul O'White and all these clowns.
The Pope.
You realize what Paul would be doing to those people?
Oh man, right from their own congregations, he would be condemning them.
Like for the blasphemous things they do.
It's crazy.
So he says, Great is my boldness of speech toward you.
Great is my glorying of you.
I am filled with comfort.
And what's that mean?
Comfort is what?
Comes from where?
The Holy Spirit.
He is the great comforter, as Jesus gave us, right?
Prayed for us to have.
I am extremely joyful in all our tribulations.
So, you know, there's a question that somebody asked me today because I was teaching them about the false tribulation rapture that the woman believed.
And I was showing her the truth, and she was like, oh man, you know, it's going to be fearful going through the tribulation.
And I was like, you know what?
Yeah, it's fearful.
But, you know, be extremely joyful because when you're persecuting in the name of the Lord, that's great.
That's why Stephen, when he was being sentenced to death, the disciple who replaced Judas.
Sorry about that.
So, when he was being sentenced to death, he was extremely joyful for that tribulation, because he was being persecuted in the name of Jesus.
And I'm not saying it's going to be walking apart, this tribulation coming, guys, if we're alive for it.
Because you're not going to be raptured from it.
Jesus comes after the tribulation.
Matthew 24 comes out a million times.
But be joyful!
For when we were come unto Macedonia, our flesh had no rest.
But we were troubled on every side, without fightings and within fears.
Without fightings and fears.
So nevertheless, God, the comforts, those that are cast down, comforted us by the coming of Titus.
So when they went into Macedonia, they had no rest.
I mean, they were tired, troubled, and, you know, people, you know, with little fears they have of people attacking them and all that stuff.
And being called blasphemers because of the Jews.
But nevertheless, they were comforted by God in the Holy Spirit.
And not by his coming only, but by the consolation where he was comforted, in you.
When he told us your earnest desire, your mourning, your fervent mind toward me, so that I rejoice tomorrow.
For though I made you sorry with the letter, that was the first letter I talked about to the Church of Corinth, I do not repent, because I'm not sorry.
Yeah, I made you sorry, we asked, because remember, right?
When Paul wrote this letter to the Church of Corinth, he found out the stuff that was going on, and he was really ticked off.
I mean, he laid it out to set people straight.
Like, this church is falling apart.
You guys are doing this, that, and the other thing.
Yeah.
That's not what our church is supposed to be about.
So, yeah, he made many people sorry with that letter.
Remember?
He goes, I don't repent.
I mean, I'm not, you know, there's two means.
I don't, I don't repent.
I'm not sorry for that.
I made you sorry, but I'm not sorry I did that.
Though, I did repent.
For I perceive that the same epistle has made you sorry, though it were but for a season, which a season is a short time.
Now I rejoice, not that you were made sorry, because, you know, me making you sorry, I'm not rejoicing for that, but that you charged to repentance, that you guys turned to repentance, you repented.
"'For you were made sorry after the godly manner, that you might receive damage by us in nothing.'" Because remember, these people were sinning.
They would do all kinds of crazy stuff.
Just things fell apart.
That's what happened.
And Paul came to the Church of Corinth to set things straight.
Lay the law down of God, the teachings of Jesus Christ.
And said, guys, you need to get your crop together.
That was the first letter, first book of Corinthians.
For godly sorrow works repentance to salvation.
Not to be repented of, but the sorrow of the world works death.
Very powerful here.
For the godly sorrow works repentance to salvation.
So, when we get this, with sorrow, it's getting convicted.
So, when somebody comes and tells you, hey, dude, the Bible says this, and you're doing anti-Bible stuff.
You need to come back to that straight and narrow path.
What does it do to you?
Oh man.
And you know they're right.
How do you feel after that?
You feel convicted.
Oh man, and you're right.
And we all go through this guys.
When we sin and stuff like that, we do willingly, sin willingly.
What happens to us?
Afterwards we're like, oh man, I can't believe I did that.
Oh man.
You feel convicted.
You feel sorrowful that you did that.
Then you go back to repentance, to salvation.
But not to be repented of, but the sorrow of the world keeps death.
The world will keep you in sorrow.
Remember that.
The world will always keep you in death.
The world will always keep you against repentance and salvation.
To salvation, I'm sorry.
So we need to follow God.
And it's a struggle.
Every day, guys, every day we go through struggles.
With sin.
That's where the repentance comes in.
The repentance of heart convicts us.
The Holy Spirit convicts us.
And you get on your hands and knees and you pray to the Lord.
I'm sorry, Lord.
I repented that I did this again.
You know, I'm a fool.
I'm an idiot.
You know what I mean?
Please forgive me.
You know what I mean?
That's what a prayer is.
Confession to Jesus Christ and repentance.
That's very important that we do.
You know?
For behold this selfsame thing that you sorrowed after a golly sore.
In what carefulness is wrought in you?
Yea, what clearing of yourselves?
Yea, what indignation?
It's kind of what we just talked about.
Yeah, what fear.
Yeah, what revenge desire.
Yeah, what zeal.
Yeah, what revenge.
In all things, you have proved yourselves to be clear in this matter.
Wherefore, though I wrote unto you, I did not for his cause that had done the wrong.
Nor for his cause, I'm sorry, that suffered wrong.
But that our care for you in the sight of God might appear unto you.
So if you just approve of yourself, I mean, like, yeah, you know, you're going to put it through the God filter.
I call it the God filter.
Things you're like, oh man, just send, run it through God, you know.
And yeah, the Holy Spirit will make you feel like, yeah, is this right thing or wrong thing?
And yeah.
So you need, you know, clearing of yourselves.
You know what I mean?
You might clarify, is it got to be clear by the Lord?
Like I said, it's a constant struggle, guys.
And I can't wait for we're into the new bodies, so we don't have to worry about this stuff anymore.
But, therefore, we were comforted in your comfort.
And yea, in exceedingly the more joy we are for the joy of Titus.
Because his spirit was refreshed by you all.
Because Titus brought like a breath of fresh air to the ministry.
For if I have boasted anything of him to you, I am not ashamed.
In other words, he's speaking highly of Titus.
Let me say I'm not ashamed of him because he was refreshed.
You know, he's a spirit that was refreshed.
But as we spoke all things to you in truth, even so our boasting, which I made before Titus, is found in truth.
So we understand, yeah, boasting, you're not supposed to boast of yourself, but boasting in this manner here, because he's boasting of the Spirit, the Holy Spirit, and God, and the workings of Titus and all that.
That's what he's boasting of, he's not boasting of himself.
Boasting of yourself, that's the bad thing.
Because I know people will say, oh yeah, it's not, you know, whatever.
So...
And his inward affection is more abundant toward you.
And inward affection, in other words, he's talking about Titus.
His inward affection, his love and concern for you is more abundant toward you.
While he remembers the obedience of you all, how with fear and trembling you receive him.
And I rejoice, therefore, that I have confidence in you in all things.
So remember, the first letter really, like, ripped these people apart in this church.
Because they were all over the place, they were doing some bad stuff.
The church completely fell apart, the church of Corinth.
The first letter, he laid into them, okay, made them all feel sorry.
And they all repented.
Now this letter is, um, the second letter, is talking about, like, yeah, exactly what this says.
Just reiterating on some stuff and say, hey, you know, we're encouraging them now.
Because the thing is, you need to break people down before you build them up, right?
That's what Paul did.
Set them straight, broke them down.
It's like, alright guys, now, okay, now I'll get your attention.
Now you realize what you do is wrong, right?
Now it's a process of building you back up again.
And now Paul has confidence in them, in all things.
So I hope you guys understood that, because it's very important to understand.
And you notice that everywhere, right?
In the military.
When you join the military, right, what do they do?
The purpose of the drill sergeants, they come out yelling and screaming at you and putting you through like more physical stuff than you ever thought you would do in your lifetime.
They do that for a reason.
They're not there attacking you personally.
Their job is to break you down.
Break you down completely.
And when you're at your breaking point, the lowest point, that's when they build you up.
And you become stronger mentally and physically than you ever were in your life.
And those who can't take it, they just drop out.
And it's the same thing in the faith.
The same thing.
God's done that to all of us.
I don't know how many times God's broken me down.
I was losing my car, things like that, you know what I mean?
I can't tell you how many times God's broken me down.
But when it was all said and done, you know, right before my break, I realized what was going on.
I realized what I had to do.
I did it.
And God, like, strengthened me, all my attributes, like the faith and everything else was all completely strengthened.
So when you're at that breaking point, guys, you can do one of two things.
You can just drop, okay, and lay in the gutter and be left for dead.
And quit.
Or you can suck it up like a man or a woman.
It's like, you know what?
I'm gonna face this challenge, I'm gonna face this tribulation like a man or a woman.
I'm gonna acknowledge that, you know, this is of the Lord.
And he's there to perfect me.
He's there to build me up.
And when he builds you up, you become stronger than ever.
Stronger in faith, stronger in courage, stronger in everything.
Because you've been tested and tried.
That's what the military does.
I use the military terms all the time.
It's the same thing.
You can't be a mighty warrior unless you've been through the fire.
I'm sorry, you've been forged through the fire.
You can't be a sharp sword unless you've been forged over and over again through the fire.
Because the minute you strike your sword, it's going to fall apart.
The blade will break, fall apart, be dull.
You need to be forged through the fire over and over again to become stronger and sharper.
That's the best way to put that.
So yeah, so thank you guys for joining us.
Yeah, don't take my word or anybody else's word.
Read it for yourselves.
Very, very easy thing to do.
And tell me what you got out of this here and put it in the comments section.
And yeah, got any questions or anything like that, please put them in there as well and I'll get back to you.
