truth radio show dot com Shalom and welcome to the Dan Badani show on truth radio show dot com Welcome to the book of Romans.
We are now on to chapter 4 in this in-depth comprehensive study, chapter by chapter, verse by verse.
So we're on chapter 4.
So before we begin, guys, we've got a Bible study approach we do all the time.
We pray for wisdom and understanding.
So let's do that right now.
So Jesus, Yeshua, we come before you once again to ask you for forgiveness of our individual sins and trespasses, transgressions or abominations that we may have committed.
And please watch us with your beautiful grace, Lord.
And we love you so much.
Thank you for the salvation and your continuance to advocate for us.
And we love you so much.
And we ask you, Heavenly Father, to write your word upon our hearts with the Holy Spirit.
In this book of Romans chapter 4 today, we ask you to heal everybody out there that needs healing and comfort everybody that needs comforting and also to protect us all from the forces of evil.
And we ask you just to help us again with this awesome word that you've given us, Bible today.
That's just a guideline for our lives here, for our afterlives as well.
So we thank you for everything.
In your name we pray.
Amen.
So that being said, guys, we read the Scripture in context, because context is key.
Very important to understand that and let the Scripture interpret the Scripture.
That means don't lean on your own understanding.
Let the Holy Spirit work through you.
Let the Word of God, the Bible, speak to you.
So when you don't understand something, just keep reading and you'll end up understanding that.
Because the Bible interprets itself.
So, continuing on with Romans Chapter 4 here, which is a continuation of Chapter 3, we were really nailing into the whole fact that the Ten Commandments are not abolished, the laws were not abolished.
As Paul pointed out in Chapter 3 at the end.
He said, do we make more than the law?
And he says, absolutely not, and God forbid.
So let's go right to that real quick here.
And we did a big spiel on the whole Ten Commitments thing, debunking the dispensationalist lies.
And again, Paul says at the end, do we make void of the law through faith?
Yeah, we're saved through faith, absolutely.
Grace was saved, right?
But it's not if we pass to sin.
Sin is what?
Transgression of the law.
That means violating the law.
And do we make void of the law through faith?
God forbid.
No, we don't.
But yea, we established the law.
That means to keep it.
To follow it.
So he's continuing on, and he goes, what shall we say then unto Abraham, our father, as pertaining to the flesh that has found, right?
So, and if you've got a Bible, guys, please open it up, by the way.
And if not, we've got it up on screen here.
You can read along with us.
And again, Paul's asking, what shall we say that Abraham, our father, as pertaining to the flesh, has found?
Asking this question, right?
For if Abraham was justified by works, he has wherefore to glory, but not before God.
So, if Abraham was justified just by works, right?
He'd be able to have glory about it, but not before God.
And he says, asking, for what says the Scripture?
Abraham believed God, and was counted unto him for righteousness.
And back then, that's why Jesus had to come here, because not everybody could be saved this way.
And now to Him that works is a reward for reckoning of grace, but of debt.
But to him that works not, but believes on him that justifieth the young godly, his faith is counted for righteousness.
So once again he's pointing out the people who do works, right?
Yeah.
Reward-breaking of grace, right?
But of debt.
That's how, you know, the prophets were saved.
Through, you know, through debt and all that.
But today, right?
Because of what works, we don't, I mean, even all the works in the world, we can't get to heaven.
But believing on Him that justified the ungodly, right?
So, we were all ungodly, right?
We confessed our sins, repented from them, turned away from them, right?
And accepted the blood of Jesus Christ, right?
That our faith is counted for righteousness.
Because we're all born into sin.
Even as David also described the blessedness of the man unto whom God imputeth righteousness without works.
So let me see, yeah.
Yeah.
I just like to know what a word-- computer.
I always like to get a clear definition of the word.
Accredits.
OK.
So here, credits.
So, even did David, as described of the blessedness of man, who God accredited righteousness without works, saying, Blessed are they whose iniquities are forgiven.
Iniquities like sins and trespasses and everything, right?
And whose sins are covered.
And blessed is the man whom the Lord will impute sin.
Not impute sin.
So imputed, again, means accredited, right?
If you're not accredited, you know, like, in that way, right?
Like David was.
But bless us, heaven, because all you have to do is believe in Jesus and it's forgiven.
On the other hand, David, you know, because he was imputed, he was saved.
Because today we're not imputed, but we still could be saved too.
And covenant?
He's asking this question, right?
So this blessedness, does it come upon the circumcised or the uncircumcised?
Which one does it come upon, right?
For we say that faith was reckoned to Abraham for righteousness.
How is it reckoned then?
When he was circumcision or in circumcised?
Not in circumcision, but in circumcision.
So again, back to the, you know, which is meaning, yes, circumcised or uncircumcised, and which is also meaning that people who followed the law are people who didn't follow the law.
You know, who were under the law, and weren't under the law.
So basically he's saying, again, what's he saying?
That salvation is offered to both.
Because you can't get to heaven just following the law.
And you can't get to heaven unfollowing the law.
So, salvation is offered to both.
But what you do, and again, don't confuse this as a way that you could transgress the law.
You know, Grace is not a free pass to transgress the law.
They offer salvation, just say you never followed any laws at all before you got saved, versus somebody who followed the laws, but wasn't really saved, I'll just try to describe this the best I can.
So basically, if you followed the laws, then you wouldn't really be saved.
Or the people who were just lawless completely, and you all got saved, nobody's better than each other.
Because both of you were saved through grace.
But again, it's not a free pass to transgress the law.
We have to emphasize that.
And he receives a sign of circumcision, a seal of the righteousness of the faith which he had yet been uncircumcised.
That he might be the father of all of them that believe, though they be not circumcised, that righteousness might be imputed unto them also.
Imputed is like to be accredited for.
So he said it could be accredited to people who are circumcised or uncircumcised.
Who lived under the law and to people who didn't live under the law.
So Paul, like Jesus, right?
Jesus gave many, many, many, many examples.
That's why he talked in the parables, right?
This is Paul doing the same thing.
So he's saying all this because so people could not possibly misunderstand what he's saying.
So very easy to understand when you read it all in context.
See, if we were to read it, in other words, if you were to read this one verse, right?
What does that even mean?
Well, we read it in context, now we know exactly what it means.
That's why we emphasize all the time how important it is to read description context, because context is key, and it helps you understand without interpretation.
I mean, it's so easy to understand when you read it all that you completely understand you don't need to interpret it.
So in the father of circumcision to them who are not of the circumcision only, but who also walk in the steps of the faith of our father Abraham, which he had not had, I'm sorry, had been yet uncircumcised.
Because it took a while for Abraham to get circumcised.
For the promise that he should be in the ear of the world, he was not to Abraham or to his seed through the law, but through the righteousness of faith.
So, for if they, which are of the law, be ears, in other words, you're next in line.
For if they are of the law, to be ears, faith is made void, and a promise made of none effect.
Because of the law worketh wrath, for there is no law, for where no law is, there is no transgression.
So transgression is, again, sin is transgression of the law, right?
Because the law works wrath.
For where no law is, there's no transgression.
So you can't transgress something that's not there.
And again, going back to the last video, we showed you that sin is transgression of the law.
So if the commandments and laws were abolished, what do they transgress?
Why would Jesus even mention it?
Because he said you need to repent from sin, right?
And sin is transgression of the law.
So what are you repenting from?
What are you transgressing from?
If they're abolished.
It's kind of what Paul's getting at here, right?
Therefore, it is of faith that it might be by grace To the end of the promise might be sure to all the seed.
Seed is, if you know what that means, it's generations, like your children, right?
If you're male, you have a child, okay, that's your seed.
Going on to the next generation, right?
So therefore, it is a faith that might be by grace to the end promise might be sure to all seed.
Not to that only which of the law, but to that which is also of the faith of Abraham, who is the father of us all.
So the people who followed Abraham, okay, they were saved.
That was like a form of grace back then.
If I'm understanding this right.
Because not everybody followed the law, you know what I'm saying?
And that's what this whole point is.
The salvation is being granted to anybody who will believe.
That if you follow the law or not, you still need salvation.
That's the whole point of the whole thing Paul's making.
It doesn't matter if you lived your whole life following the laws to the T. You still need grace to be saved.
Just like that man who doesn't follow the law at all, then all of a sudden he came to the cross and decided, you know, I need Jesus.
Right?
And he goes, as it is written, that means referring, making reference to the old scriptures, right?
I have made thee a father of many nations, before him whom he believed, even God, who quith it the dead, and called those things which had not as though they were.
So talking about Abraham, right?
Becoming the father of many generations, I mean, nations.
His seed, that's his children.
so they shall, thy seed shall be.
So talking about Abraham, right, becoming the father of many generations, I mean nations, his seed that's his children, and children's children, you know, all the way down.
And being not weak in faith, he considered his own body now dead when he was about 100 years old, neither yet the deadness of Sarah's womb.
So, So they were old, remember that, Abraham and Sarah?
They were old, and they wanted to have a child.
And Sarah thought she was too old.
Right?
And God granted her to have children.
And that seed split, it became the seeds of many nations, right?
And again, I have to emphasize this too, because I hear them in the churches all the time, I really do.
Because not only do they wrongfully teach the Ten Commandments to abolish and all that stuff, right?
That once they understand the pre-tribulation rapture, they'll tell lies, right?
But they say, don't worry about the Old Testament.
No, don't worry about it, all you need to do is read Genesis, I'm sorry, Matthew through Revelation.
That's it.
Which is wrong.
Because how are you going to know who's Abraham?
If you don't know the Old Testament, who's Abraham then?
Who's Paul talking about?
Who's Sarah?
What does it mean with the deadness of a woman?
So you wouldn't know anything about these guys.
You wouldn't know that Sarah was old, okay, and so was Abraham, and they always wanted a kid, and they could never have one.
Then God eventually granted them to have children.
So you wouldn't know any of this, of what Paul's talking about.
If you didn't know the Old Testament, right?
And again, as it is written.
How many times did Jesus say that?
Make a reference to the Old Testament, the Torah and all that.
So, any church that tells you you don't need to worry about the Old Testament, you need to tell them they need to go repent right now.
Because you would not even begin to even understand the New Testament if you do not know the Old.
You wouldn't even know who Abraham was.
You know what he's just talking about here?
When Jesus brought up Daniel the prophet.
And I think there was a book of Matthew.
So you wouldn't know this stuff if you didn't know the Old Testament.
That's why you have to read Genesis through Revelation.
Not just Matthew through Revelation.
Genesis through Revelation.
Because you would not know any of this.
Who's Sarah?
Who's Abraham?
You know who the prophets were?
Right?
And he staggered not at the promise of God through the unbelief, but was strong in faith, giving glory to God.
Right?
That's how Abraham was.
He was a prophet.
He was very strong in faith in God.
And God used him for a prophet.
And being fully persuaded that what he had promised, he was able to also to perform.
So, Abraham walked the walk and talked the talk.
I'm sorry, talked the talk and walked the walk.
He did what he promised to do and he fulfilled God's plans.
And therefore, it was imputed to him for righteousness.
Because the question would be, how were these people saved?
There was no faith back then.
No race, right?
But Paul's explained how, because it was imputed to him.
In other words, it was accredited to him.
And there's more meanings in the Bible here.
Meeting the demands.
So the way that Jesus fulfilled obedience that meets the demands for what is required for peace with God can count on behalf of his people, right?
There's different attributed actions to a source.
So, you know, the definition is impute.
So you understand what impute is.
And this is what a Bible study is.
Look up these words if you don't know what they mean.
God has promised to always forgive our sins as long as we have fellowship through the blood of the Lamb.
That's today, right?
Which is grace.
The blood of the Lamb is Jesus Christ.
So, and he goes again, now it was not written for his sake alone that it was imputed to him.
So God accredited him because he served God and lived to his promise.
But for us also, to whom it shall be imputed if we believe on him that raised up Jesus the Lord God from the dead.
So he's talking about Abraham, how he was imputed No, it's accredited righteousness.
He was given righteousness because of his belief, right?
Very few people back then were like that.
As I think I said in the last video, most people went to hell.
Even good people, because they couldn't live, they couldn't fulfill the law the way it should be.
You know, it should have been so, right?
They, you know, people broke the laws all the time.
Knowingly, unknowingly, and that's why Jesus gave them a second chance when he went into the grave for three days and three nights to redeem the lost.
The good people that were lost that just couldn't make the cut, you know what I mean?
So he gave them another chance to say, if you believe in me, which was foretold by the prophets, you know, Jesus was foretold by the prophets of the coming of the Messiah.
He became that final lamb sacrifice.
But this is what Paul's trying to make, you know, the point he's trying to make here.
There were some people back then that were imputed of righteousness.
Because they were... They fulfilled what God wanted them to do.
But for us also, to whom it shall be imputed... So he's saying right now, like, because, yeah, some of us practiced the law, some of us didn't, you know what I mean?
And we all violated the law regardless, right?
But if you want it to be imputed, like, given to you, right?
Accredited?
Righteousness?
All we have to do is believe on Him that raised up the Lord Jesus Christ from the dead, that's it.
Who was delivered for our offenses and was raised again for our justification.
So as Paul's saying, through Jesus Christ, the whole point that Paul is trying to make, alright?
It doesn't matter who you are, okay?
As of right now, you talk about certain people, yes, that were imputed with righteousness.
Like Abraham, Isaac, and all those people, right?
The prophets?
They were imputed, given, accredited righteousness by God.
And back then they didn't have grace and faith, right?
But it was only very few, right?
However, today, especially back then, and especially today, more than ever, right?
If you want to be imputed, right, we need to, with righteousness, our way to do this, whether you follow the law or not, right, you need to follow Jesus Christ.
Then when you follow Jesus Christ, you don't go purposely breaking the law.
Like the dispensationalists will say, oh, you can follow Jesus, you can do whatever you want.
No, that's not what I'm saying.
The lawful and the lawlessness need to come to Jesus for salvation, for grace, right?
But again, grace is not a free pass to break the law.
It doesn't mean you can go do what you want.
He's calling everybody.
It doesn't matter what you're doing right now.
You turn from your ways, alright?
Lawless or lawful, whatever.
You come to the cross and you're a new person in Jesus, born again, right?
And from that point forward, yeah, you try your best to follow the laws.
You know, because the person of God is not going to go break laws.
That's not how we do things.
So it's a commandment.
Everything we explained in the last chapter.
