If you're receiving this transmission, you are the resistance.
declaring war on the new world order truth radio show dot com and welcome to the damper dotting show on truth radio show dot com and welcome to the book of acts We are now on chapter 13. If you miss chapters 1 through 12, they're in the playlist.
So guys, what we do is we do a specific Bible study approach before every one of these videos.
We pray for wisdom and understanding, so let's do this right now.
And Jesus, Yeshua Messiah, we come before you once again to ask you to forgive us all individually of our sins and our trespasses.
And we come before you to ask to make us pure before the Father.
And Father, we ask you to write your word upon our hearts.
Acts chapter 13 today.
And allow the Holy Spirit to teach us your great word.
And comfort everybody here.
And protect us all against the forces of evil, Lord.
And give us great wisdom and insight.
And we ask you in your mighty name.
Amen.
And what we do, guys, is we read description.
Context is very critical, very important.
We have to stress all the time.
This is why we do this every time we start a show.
Number one, you've got to pray all the time to get right with the Lord.
And read description.
Context.
Context is key.
This is something that most ministries and just about every religion out there highly lacks doing.
They'll give you a couple of verses here and there, and that's about it, and frog hop over the Bible.
We don't do that.
And let the Scripture interpret Scripture.
Plain and simple.
So if you've got a Bible, guys, I ask you to open up to Acts chapter 3. If you're listening on ShakeWakeRadio.com, the audio version.
But on the video edition here, we've got it right up on screen.
We use the King James Bible.
So now, we left chapter 12 and all that.
We've seen a lot of the great things that Saul was doing.
Remember Saul, a persecutor and killer of Christians, a murderer?
That Jesus converted to be one of his greatest prophets?
I mean, I'm sorry, apostles?
Yeah.
So, very important to understand, and you all know Saul eventually becomes Paul.
So chapter 13, and now there were in the church that was of Antitope certain prophets and teachers, as Barnabas and Simon, Simon is also Peter by the way, and Simon that was called Niger and Lucius of Cyrene and Menae, which had been brought up with Herod, the Tektrak, and Saul.
And as they ministered to the Lord and fasted, the Holy Ghost said, Separate me, Barnabas, and Saul, for the work whereunto I have called them.
So if you see a lot of association when they prayer and fast, right, through the Bible, it brings the Holy Spirit closer to you.
This is like, should be done, I should be doing this too.
We all should do this once in a while, do some fasting, right?
And it's good for your body too.
It's physically good for you and also good for the soul to fast for like three days or something.
And that's when a lot of these prophets had these visions and messages from the Lord during fasting.
So it's pretty interesting what happens when you fast.
And when they had fasted and prayed and laid their hands on them, they sent them away.
So, this was being done by the Holy Spirit, like it says.
And so they, being forth by the Holy Ghost, departed into Seleucia, and from thence they sailed to Cyprus.
And when they were at Salamis, they preached the word of God in the synagogues of the Jews.
Uh-oh, here we go again.
Yeah, because every time when Jesus did it, and all those apostles do it, preach the word of God in the synagogues of the Jews, right?
The Jewish priests and the elders, they get really ranked up about this.
And again, they preached the word of God, the second God of the Jews, and they had also John to their minister.
And when they had gone through this isle of Papos, they found a certain sorcerer, a false prophet, a Jew, whose name was Bar-Jesus.
It's kind of interesting how that's almost similar to Jesus.
I think basically a counterfeit Jesus, because he's a false prophet, this guy, right?
A Jew...
And a sorcerer.
So this guy has practiced divinization, which is strictly forbidden in the Bible.
In Deuteronomy it talks about this too.
About not practicing witchcraft and divinization and all that.
That's what a sorcerer is.
A sorcerer is a male-like witch.
That's what it is.
When you get to the spiritual warfare part.
So this guy is a pretty wicked guy.
By Jesus.
Which was the deputy of the county.
Sergius Paulus, a prudent man who called for Barnabas and Saul and desired to hear the word of God.
So this guy bought Jesus, which was with the deputy of the county.
And it's Sergius Paulus, a prudent man who called for Barnabas and Saul and desired to hear the word of God.
So this man's calling for Baruches of Saul, and he wants to hear the word of God for them personally.
And as you know by now, Christianity is spreading like wildfire through the regions, from the apostles there.
But Elmas, the sorcerer, for so is his name by interpretation.
So they're talking about Bar-Jesus, right?
Elmas, that's his name by interpretation.
The sorcerer they were just describing, right, in verse 6, withstood them seeking to turn away the deputy from the faith.
So the deputy is Sergius Paulus.
Paulus, I'm sorry.
So the sorcerer, yeah, withstood them and seeking to turn away the deputy from faith.
In other words, he's trying to prevent, okay, Sergius here from listening to the Word of God.
And why is he doing that for?
Because, remember, this guy's a sorcerer, a false prophet, right?
The fact of him being a sorcerer shows that he's probably under demonic oppression or possession or both.
And you know it's Satan telling him to try to stop this from happening, right?
Because the Sergius Paulus is going to be a very important person.
Which the Bible says he was a prudent man.
Now if you look in the dictionary what prudent means...
Prudent is acting with a shown care and thought for the future.
So that's what prudent means.
So anyway, the devil literally was trying to use...
By Jesus, to stop Saul and Barnabas from preaching to Surgis.
Then Saul, as he highlights who is called Paul now, right?
Filled with the Holy Ghost, set his eyes on him.
So now, you've got the sorcerer trying to stop this from happening.
Demonic powers this guy has, right?
Demonic sources run in him, right?
Trying to stop Saul and Barnabas from talking to Sergius.
But it says here, Saul, right?
Which also knows Paul.
Filled with the Holy Ghost.
He was full with the Holy Ghost.
Set his eyes upon Elmas, which is the sorcerer here, right?
So sorry for all the names going back and forth.
I don't want to confuse anybody.
But I'm just trying to get the story here, the account I should say, accurate here.
So you can easily understand what's going on.
So we've got some spiritual warfare going on.
That's what's going on here.
So the sorcerer is trying to stop this from happening, right?
But again, it says Saul, who is filled with the Holy Ghost, set his eyes upon him and said, O fool of subtly and mischief, Though child of the devil, though enemy of all righteousness, will you not cease to pervert the right ways of the Lord?
So this is Paul, Saul here, confronting this sorcerer.
And like you said, he's called the child of the devil.
Which means there's a devil inside this man.
This man by Jesus.
And now, behold, the hand of the Lord is upon you, and thou shalt be blind, not seeing the sun for a season, and immediately fell upon him in the midst of darkness, and he went about seeking some who wanted to lead him by the hand.
So this sorcerer tried to stop Paul and Barnabas from preaching to this man, right?
And again, Paul had the Holy Ghost with him, and he made this sorcerer blind.
Then the deputy, when he saw what was done, believed being astonished in the doctrine of the Lord.
So this deputy, mind you, he was on the fence about all this.
So he wanted to see Paul in Barnabas to minister the Word of God to him.
But when he's seen this whole ordeal happen, the sorcerer tried to prevent this from happening, and he's seen what Paul did with the Holy Ghost to make the sorcerer blind.
He was astonished over this.
And that's the doctrine of the Lord.
So now when Paul and his company loosed from Patmos, when they left Patmos, they came to Perjah and Pomephalia, and John departed from them and returned to Jerusalem.
So, but when they departed from Perjah, they came to Antioch of Pisidah and went into the synagogue on the Sabbath day and sat down.
So the Sabbath day is, yes, it's Saturday, guys.
It's not Sunday like the, you know, modern day churches, the Sabbath day.
And here's the thing, too, and this always gets me.
These modern day churches, because of the Catholic church, they say, oh, the Sabbath day is now Sunday, it's the Lord's day.
No, it's not.
This is well after the crucifixion of Jesus.
Why are they still on the Sabbath day if we're supposedly abolished, right?
It wasn't.
People say, oh, it's just for the Jews.
No.
Why would the apostles still continue to worship on the Sabbath day and keep the Sabbath?
Because here's a clue, the Sabbath day was never abolished.
It's the fourth commandment, and it was actually long before the Ten Commandments were created, before a Jew walked the face of the earth on creation, day seven of creation, God sanctified the seventh day forever, plain and simple.
He didn't say until the new covenant.
He said forever, plain and simple.
It's not just for the Jews, it's for everybody.
It was reiterated later as the fourth commandment to keep the Sabbath day holy.
And verse 15, and after, reading of the war, and the prophets, the rulers of the synagogue, sent unto them, saying, you men and brethren, if you have any word of extortionation for the people, say on it.
So again, this is, yeah, the rulers of the synagogue, yeah, they're like, all right, If you have anything more to say, keep talking, right?
Then Paul stood up, And beckoning with his hand and said, Men of Israel, and ye that fear God, give audience.
In other words, pay attention.
Paul's telling them, listen to me, pay attention right now.
The God of this people, of Israel, chose our fathers and exalted the people when they dwelt as strangers in the land of Egypt.
And with a high arm brought them out of it.
Now here's where, here's where, okay, Paul, okay, he starts speaking of the old times.
And now, again, I've got to refer to the modern day churches today, right?
And you'll hear this a lot, that the Old Testament's not really important.
Just worry about Matthew through Revelation, right?
But here's the thing, if you don't know the Old Testament, how are you going to know what Paul's about to say here?
And how many times does Jesus himself say, as it is written, referring to what?
The Torah?
The Old Testament?
So if you don't know the Old Testament and the Torah, which is the first part of the Old Testament, how are you going to know what Jesus says?
Or what he's talking about?
How are you going to know what Paul's about to say here?
So anybody that tells you, oh, the Old Testament's not, you know, don't worry about it.
No, you tell them, they better worry about it.
Because you cannot begin to understand the New Testament unless you know the Old.
Because it was the Old Testament that prophesied the coming of Jesus.
The Old Testament gave specific details and also prophecies that are still being unfolded to this day.
So again, if you don't know the old, you're not going to understand the new.
So this is Paul talking about the prophets of old.
And how God led them out of the slavery of Egypt, right?
The Jews.
And about the time of 40 years, suffered he their manners in the wilderness.
And this is back when Moses was leading the Jews out of Israel, right?
And they went to the desert for 40 years.
And when he had destroyed seven nations in the land of Canaan, he divided them to by law.
Which, you know, gave a lot of wind.
So if you know the Old Testament, you know what this is talking about, right?
This is why it's very critical to understand this.
And the thing is, here's Paul up here at the synagogue.
He's not just saying this, just to make a conversation.
There's a reason why he's talking about this.
And you're going to see this reason, by the way.
So, and after that, he gave unto them judges about a space of 450 years.
And to Samuel the prophet...
And afterward, they desired a king.
So, he's talking about the ancient Jews at the time, right?
And the ancient talks, too, of course.
Yeah, because our people, our ancestors, right?
When they were led by the Samuel prophet.
And afterward, they desired a king.
And here's the thing, too, right?
The Jews at the time.
Because all the nations, when God gave them the land...
God led them to the promised land and all that stuff, and God led them, right?
And you use Moses and Samuel and all that to lead them to the promised land.
And now the nations around them all had kings.
And the Jews are like, how come we don't have a king?
And God's like, why would you need a king?
You don't need a king.
I'm your God.
Why would you need a king?
That baffles me to this day.
If you were ruled by God, why would you need a king?
And today, my only king is Jesus Christ.
But these are the Jews back then, right?
We want a king.
And God goes, you don't need one.
But you know what?
You want a king?
We're going to give you a king and everything.
It comes with it.
So anyway, afterward, they desired a king, and God gave them Saul, the son of Zeus.
Now, this is a different Saul, not Saul, as we're talking about here, Saul, which is Paul.
Paul.
The first king was Saul, the son of Sais, a man of the tribe of Benjamin, by the space of 40 years.
So he was king for 40 years.
And when he had removed him, he raised up unto him them David to be their king.
And we all know the story of David and Goliath.
That's where David really showed his worth.
And at the time, Saul, you know, we know the whole story of David and Goliath.
And that's when David rose up to be a mighty warrior.
And he eventually became king, right?
And again, David to be the king, to whom also he gave testimony and said, I have found David, the son of Jesse, a man after my own heart, which shall fulfill all my will.
So David, King David, right, was a man after God's heart.
Now, David, we all know, wasn't perfect.
He fooled around with the ladies, if you know what I mean.
Committed adultery and all that, but still, God favored him because he was a man after his own heart.
In other words, having faith in him.
Because look at the amount of faith that David had.
He went up against a giant Nephilim.
Which is probably three, four times the size of David.
Could have squashed him like a bug, right?
But he had 100% faith in God that he could defeat him.
No fear at all.
When Israel had the warriors and armies, not one of them would stand up to fight Goliath.
But he has David a sheep herder.
No fear in him at all.
It's like, you know what?
God's with me.
I could care less.
What are you going to do?
You bring a sword and a shield?
But I have God with me.
And we know that David slayed Goliath, right?
That's why God meant that he's a person after his own wrath, because he had 100% faith in the Lord.
And of this man's seed, which is your generation.
In other words, what that means, the seed in this context, right?
If you're a male, you know what I'm talking about.
So basically, you marry a woman and you produce children.
Your seed, literally your seed, your sperm.
That's what it is.
Then you create an offspring, your son.
Then your grandson and all that.
That's what it's talking about, right?
Of this man's seed...
We talk about David, right?
Has God, according to his promise, raised him to Israel, a savior, Jesus?
And as we know when we start off the book of Matthew in the series here, that Jesus, okay, Mary and Joseph both are bloodlined directly back to David.
And it was mainly Mary that needed to be this bloodline to produce the savior.
And it goes all the way back to the sons of Seth.
And the bloodline of Adam.
And when God had first preached before His coming, the baptism of repentance to all the people of Israel.
Remember John the Baptist?
Yeah.
Before the coming of Jesus.
He was out there.
We went to this, to the book of John.
Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John, whatever.
John the Baptist preached to everybody the coming of Jesus.
He's coming soon.
And He was baptizing people and telling them to repent.
And as John fulfilled his course, he said, Whom do you think I am?
He said, I am not he.
Because people were praising John the Baptist there, right?
Not John the Apostle, John the Baptist.
They were praising him because he was baptizing people and helping them repent of their sins.
And he goes, who do you all think I am?
I'm not him.
But I'm telling you of a person that is coming that's greater than me.
But behold, there comes one after me whose shoes of his feet I am not even worthy to loosen.
He's saying the coming of Jesus.
I am nothing.
I'm just a servant of God leading people to repentance and all that for the getting ready for the coming of the Savior.
Right?
And men and brethren, children of the stock of Abraham, and whoever among you fears God, to you is the word of the salvation sent.
Now mind you once again where we are.
This is Paul in the synagogue on a Sabbath day letting these Jewish people know this.
The heads of the synagogue.
And he says, for they dwelt with their Jerusalem and their rulers because they knew him not.
They didn't know him.
Nor yet the voices of the prophets which read every Sabbath day.
They have fulfilled them and then condemned them.
So this is Paul saying to these Jewish people in the synagogue, right?
Every week you guys come here.
You read the laws of the prophets, right?
You read all the scripture, right?
But yet you deny their prophecy.
Basically calling these people a bunch of hypocrites.
You're condemning me because I'm bringing the word of Jesus Christ that your prophecy is prophesied of, but yet it didn't make no sense at all.
And that's what Paul is pointing out to these Jewish leaders.
And yet they found no cause of death in him, yet desired that Pilate should be slain, that he should be slain there.
So as we've seen, you know, Pontius Pilate found no fault in Jesus at all.
And remember when the crucifixion came, I think it was Paul and...
I'm sorry, Jesus and...
Was it another Barnabas, I believe?
This guy was a thief and all that.
And Pilate gave the Jews a choice to the people.
Say, all right, on this day, we're going to free one person.
We get to decide.
And they chose the murderer.
To be set free.
And Jesus did nothing wrong.
And this is what Paul here is bringing up.
And when they had fulfilled all that was written of him, they took him down from the tree and laid him in the septica.
Off the cross and to the grave.
But God raised him from the dead.
And again, Paul's firmly, not just quietly, firmly handing these Jewish...
Temple leaders, their buts.
Saying, you guys, every week you come up here on the Sabbath, you preach the word of God.
You preach the laws of the prophets and everything, right?
But yet you deny their prophecies.
And he was seen many days afterwards, came up from him, Galilee to Jerusalem, who are witnesses unto the people.
Talking about when you guys, remember you guys, put Jesus to death?
You had a chance to save him because he was found innocent.
But you still had Pilate put him to death.
And when he rose from the grave, right?
He was crucified and went into Septuagint just like the prophet said he would, right?
He rose from the dead.
And there was thousands of people that witnessed him walking around after this in his spirit.
And we declare unto you glad titans.
How that the promise was made unto the fathers.
God has fulfilled the same unto us, the children.
In that he had raised up Jesus again.
As it is also written in the second Psalms.
Thou art my son, this day I have begun.
So this is why it's very important to understand the Old Testament.
Paul's like saying, this is what the prophets talked about, guys.
We are living these days.
And as concerning that he raised him from the dead, now more to return to corruption, he said on the wise, you know, the wise people that were in the synagogue here, I will give you the sure mercies of David.
Wherefore, he said also unto another Psalms, Thou shalt not suffer thine Holy One to see corruption.
Right?
For David, after he had served his own generation by the will of God, fell on a slave, and was laid unto his fathers, and saw corruption.
But he, whom God raised again, saw no corruption.
That's Jesus, right?
Talk about David here, after he served his time as king, right?
When he fell asleep and he was laid down to his fathers and he saw corruption, right?
And we know David did some corrupt things as well, right?
But Jesus didn't.
Jesus was perfect.
He was uncorrupt.
But it known unto you, therefore, men and brethren, that through this man is preached unto you the forgiveness of sins.
Talk about Jesus.
Jesus is preaching unto you the forgiveness of sins.
Believe in Him and He'll forgive your sins.
Repent to Him.
And by Him that all believers are justified from all these things, which you could not be justified by the laws of Moses.
So he's saying, Paul's saying, the laws of Moses are not going to save you.
And I want to tell these dispensationalist people out there, I've got to say this all the time.
He's not saying the laws are abolished.
Yes, you are saved from grace, absolutely.
Grace saves you, not worse.
But grace is not a free pass to break the law.
Sin is defined in the New Testament here as transgression of the law, breaking the law.
We're supposed to repent from sin, right?
And yes, the Ten Commandments are still valid.
And he says, Beware therefore, at least that I come upon you, which is spoken of the prophets.
And he's saying, yeah, what we've been telling you is exactly what the prophets have prophesied, and here we are.
Behold, you despisers, and perish, for I work a work in your days, a work which you shall in no wise believe, to a man declare unto you.
So, again, you're saying this is happening now, everything the Father's told you.
And you guys don't believe it.
And when the Jews were going out of the synagogue, because Peter just, I mean, Paul, I'm sorry, just put these guys to rest, right?
The Jews had nothing more to say.
When they left the synagogue, the Gentiles, right, saw that these words might be preached to them next Sabbath.
So they're like, yeah, we will besought, and let's go with what besought means.
Besought definition is entreated, asked and called.
So they're welcoming.
So we're here saying that the Gentiles, after hearing and seeing all this, right?
Paul sent all these Jewish leaders away.
The leaders of the synagogue, right?
So now the Gentiles are kind of interesting.
Whoa, this is kind of interesting, right?
So they besought Paul to preach the Word of God to them at the next Sabbath.
And now when the congregation was broken up, many of the Jews in religious proselytes, and if you know what a proselyte is, it's a person who's been converted from one opinion or religion to another party.
So now when the congregation was broken up, many of the Jews and religious proselytes followed Paul and Barnabas.
So after witnessing all this, right?
They sent all people Jewish elders away.
Now the Gentiles are interested, right?
And the proselytes now.
Who speaking to them persuaded them to continue in the grace of God.
So in the next Sabbath day, came almost the whole city together to hear the Word of God.
So from this little confrontation, right, of Paul and Barnabas going into the synagogue, right, being confronted by the synagogue and Jewish leaders, right, and Paul literally handed them their rear ends using the Word of God.
It sparked an interest in the Gentiles and all the Jews in the area.
Now it's the next Sabbath, right?
The whole city now can't hear the word of God because now they're interested.
Who are these men that sent the Jewish leaders away?
But when the Jews saw the multitudes, they were filled with envy and spake against those things which were spoken by Paul, contradicted and blasphemed.
So they saw multitudes of people filing them.
They're like, what is going on?
And they're like, yeah, remember Paul put us in our place?
Yeah, he's got all these people coming now to hear him.
Instead of us, okay, they're going to hear him instead of us.
We're supposed to be the ones teaching, not him.
So they use contradiction and blasphemy against Paul.
Then Paul and Barnabas waxed bold and said, It was necessary that the word of God should first be spoken to you, but seeing you put from you and judge yourselves unworthy and everlasting life, lo, we turn to the Gentiles.
So this is Paul and Barnabas waxed bold, which means they were courageous to boldly stand up and tell these Jewish leaders this.
For so has the Lord commanded us, saying, I have set thee to be a light of the Gentiles, that those should us be the salvation unto the ends of the earth.
So that's us too.
We're supposed to be the light and salt of the earth.
And hanging around the churches all day, and the pews and synagogues and all that, whatever you go to, right?
It's really not going to do much.
You need to be out in the world like this, where that's why they were going to the Gentiles.
To be a light for them, so they could turn from sin and come to Jesus.
What good is a Christian, right?
If you're around a bunch of believers all the time, and you're never out in the world going to the modern day Gentiles, what good are you?
You're not preaching the word of God.
Your talents ain't being used.
This is what Paul's saying.
The Lord commanded us, saying, I have sent thee to be the light of the Gentiles.
That you should be for salvation unto the ends of the earth.
That means everywhere.
And when the Gentiles heard this, they were glad and glorified the word of God, the word of the Lord, and as many as were ordained to eternal life believed.
This is awesome.
So this is a multitude of people.
You know what a multitude is?
I think biblically, the dictionary said it's four or five thousand for a multitude.
But it says multitudes.
So we're looking at probably tens of thousands of people.
Of Gentiles.
Okay?
Glorifying the word of God.
And now they're saved.
And the word of the Lord was published throughout the whole region.
The entire region.
Published means like spoke of, taught, you know, just like went viral.
That's what it means.
And today when something goes viral, it goes on newspapers, TV, internet, and all that stuff.
So it went viral.
Word of mouth and everything they had back then.
But the Jews stirred up an honorable woman and the chief men of the city and raised persecution against Paul and Barnabas and expelled them out of their coast.
Because they are full of envy.
You know that's Jews, right?
Because people are going to Paul and Barnabas, not them.
So now they're a little jealous, whatever the case is.
So now they raised up persecution, which is false accusations, I think, against Paul and Barnabas, to expel them to keep, you know, get out of my coast.
You know, get out of here.
But they shook off the dust of their feet against them and came into Iconium.
And the disciples were filled with joy and with the Holy Ghost.
Of course you would.
Because I can, right here, it's persecution, right?
As we read through the scriptures, right?
When it was Peter, I believe.
Or John, when he was persecuted, right?
No, Stephen, I'm sorry.
When Stephen was persecuted, right?
He was excited.
Because he knew he did his job.
Now today, when we face persecution, some of us, we get upset.
I've gotten upset a couple times.
But we're not supposed to do that.
If we receive persecution from the world, that means we're doing our job.
And you should be glad in Titans, right?
And right here, the disciples were filled with joy in the Holy Ghost because they were excited.
We'd done our job.
We got persecution and at the same time we witnessed the thousands upon thousands of people.
And when they shook off the dust of their feet against them, right?
Against the Jewish people that persecuted them wrongly, right?
That means forget about who gets.
Shake off the dust means we're not going to have anguish against them.
We're not going to have any hatred or anything.
Just forget about it.
That's what that means.
And they went into Iconium and the disciples were filled with joy and the Holy Ghost.
They were happy.
They were celebrating.
That all the people they witnessed to and also that they were persecuted as well.
Because Jesus says they persecuted them first.
So if you're persecuted to these days, guys, preaching the word of God, be glad about it.
That means you're doing your job.
If you're not being persecuted in some way, right?
Guess what?
You're not doing your job good enough.
So when you are persecuted, be full with joy and Holy Ghost.
So, I hope you guys enjoyed the study today.
