Declaring war on the New World Order.
TruthRadioShow.com And welcome to the Dan Bedani Show on TruthRadioShow.com So welcome to the book of Luke chapter 10 in our comprehensive in-depth study.
So here we go guys and we left off a chapter 9 where Jesus gave the apostles, the 12 apostles, the power to heal people, to cast out demons, and forgive people just to spread their doctrine because at the time You know, Jesus said the harvest is coming soon.
In other words, yeah, we need to save money people as possible before I have to leave here.
Before my crucifixion, basically.
You know what I mean?
And the, you know, to die for the sins of the world.
So, uh, they had to speed up the process and, um, he had all 12 of them spread out to go to different cities.
So anyway, um, we're gonna get to chapter 10 here, which is gonna relate to that.
So before we get going guys, I want everybody to, um, thank you.
I'm sorry.
Take care everybody.
It's been a long weekend.
Sorry guys.
So I want to thank everybody for, you know, tuning in here.
So before we get started, we'd like to do a specific Bible study approach.
Number one, we pray for wisdom and understanding, so let's do that right now.
So we come before you, Yeshua, Jesus, our Lord and Savior.
We love you so much, and please forgive every one of us individually for our individual sins and trespasses that we may have committed.
And we ask you to make us pure and holy before the Father, so we can come to your throne, Heavenly Father, and ask you in your name To give us the Holy Spirit, for the Holy Spirit to give us and teach us your information today, your amazing gospel in the book of Luke chapter 10 today, to give us the knowledge and understanding in the full context of your scripture.
We ask you in your heavenly name, and we all ask you, too, is to help us, Lord, if people need, you know, prayer for sickness or health or any kind of things going on in their life.
We ask you to comfort them and pray for them, I mean, heal them, and just be with them, Lord, and just give us guidance, understanding, courage, and wisdom.
In your precious name we pray, amen.
So what we do guys, also, is we read the scripture in its context.
Because remember, context is key.
Because if you read one or two verses without knowing the context, they could easily be misunderstood and mistranslated.
So what we do is read in context.
And when you read in context, there's no misinterpretation, because it's clear as day.
And we also let the scripture interpret the scripture.
So if you don't understand something, just keep reading, and the answer will present itself.
As Jesus does constantly when he gives an answer, he gives some instruction to one of the apostles or whoever.
They ask him for understanding.
Jesus gives them understanding.
Then he goes on with two, three parables to get better clarification.
And when you read again, this is in context, so you cannot possibly misunderstand it.
Awesome stuff.
It really is.
So guys, let's get started here.
Luke chapter 10, and again we left off chapter 9, when the apostles were given the ability to go do the things Jesus was doing, just to spread out and spread this doctrine.
So, chapter 10 here, verse one, and after these things, the Lord appointed other 70 also and sent them to two by two in his face into every city and place where he himself would come.
So now, not only in the prior chapter, Jesus gave the abilities to his twelve apostles.
Because you've got to understand, right?
When Jesus was traveling around, he was traveling with his twelve apostles, right?
They were going all together into each city.
So the time was getting near and his fame was getting bigger.
So Jesus had to step up the process because he said the crops need plucking, you know what I mean?
So it's like basically your harvest is ready and you don't have enough help.
That's what he said in the last chapter.
So, he went out to get help to get this gospel spread out.
So, now he needed to step things up even further.
So, he went and appointed 70 other people.
Not only the apostles he had, but he had many, many followers.
Multitudes of them.
Just following him and wanted to learn more.
They left everything just to follow Jesus.
So he appointed 70 people and sent them two by two into teams.
And sent them into cities, different cities to do his work.
And therefore he said unto them, the harvest is truly great, but the laborers are few.
So yeah, we got a big harvest.
You know, nobody's going to win souls, right?
A big harvest, but we don't have that many hands right now to do this.
So the laborers are few.
And he says, So that's why he went out and recruited 70 people that were already his followers.
He recruited them to go do this preaching along with the 12 apostles as well.
And he told them, go your ways.
Behold, I send you forth as lambs among wolves.
So in other words, yeah, you're going into some, into the midst of evil.
You know, evil men and everything else.
That's what, you know, we're supposed to be.
We're supposed to be the lambs of God.
To bring the light and salt of the earth.
You know, truth, I'm sorry, to people who are lost.
So, yeah, you're literally a lamb going among wolves.
And that's what he did with these 70 people.
And, uh, carry neither purse, nor strip, nor shoes, or sloot, no man by the way.
So, he's saying, don't take nothing.
Go two by two, don't take nothing.
Don't pack a bag, don't get extra clothes, don't pack some food or water, nothing.
Just go.
And into whatever house you enter, first say, peace be at this house.
So, and if the son of peace be there, you shall rest upon it.
You should rest upon it, and if not, you shall turn to you again.
So basically, yeah.
Don't take nothing, just go.
So basically, yeah, don't take nothing, just go.
And you will be invited, welcomed to certain people's houses.
So good people are going to invite you, you know, because especially back then, I mean, hospitality was even better back then.
So you just met a stranger, they would invite you in for dinner and everything else.
That's what a normal good person would do.
So that's what they would do.
So Jesus said, don't bring nothing, and God's going to provide.
And he did by using certain people to invite them in for drinks and all that stuff.
You know, drinks and to sleep.
Because remember, this is our goal.
It took days to do this.
It wasn't just going to the city next year, going around for a couple hours.
No, it took probably the whole day or so to get there.
Then, God knows how many days to do this.
So the good people in the area would be like, alright, why don't you stay here tonight?
Can you imagine you're like at the end of the day and somebody's coming to witness to you and especially if you're a good person back then?
It's like, well, you know what guys?
Why don't you come stay here tonight?
I'll give you something to eat and some drink and all that and tomorrow you'll be rested up to go on your merry way, you know?
So that's what happened.
So he says in intent, whatever city you enter and they receive you, each such things are all set before you.
So when you go into the city and they give you stuff, receive it.
And eat the things that are set before you.
And heal the sick that are therein, and say unto them, Thy kingdom of God has come nigh unto you.
So as you can see here, Jesus gave all these people, 70 people, plus the 12 apostles, this gift to heal people and forgive their sins, cast out demons and everything else.
So, about, into whatever city you enter, and they receive you not, go your ways out of the streets of the same, and say, even the very dust of your city, which clings on to us, we do wipe off against you, notwithstanding be sure of this, that the kingdom of God has come nigh unto you.
So basically when you go to a city and they don't welcome you, Alright?
The dust, because when you, literally, when you leave the city, wipe that dust off your feet.
Because, just leave it all behind.
And what that means, mainly, is basically, because you gotta, when you go to the, you know, when they went to the cities, these people got criticized, yelled at, spit at, probably attacked and everything else.
So, what he's saying, like, you know, wipe the dust, which means, don't be troubled by it.
Leave the city, wipe the dust from it, and don't worry about it.
Don't bring your despair or sorrows or anything else out of that city.
Just leave it there as if you never went there.
You know, because again, you'll be attacked and all kinds of, you know, recused and everything else.
So when you leave the city, what the dust means again.
Because I want to explain this in detail.
In other words, all your cares away.
Wipe those cares away and move on to the next place.
Don't let it bother you.
Don't take it personal.
Just move on.
So, and he's saying, be sure that the King of God has come nigh unto you, telling the people there, that the city that doesn't accept you.
And Jesus says, but I say unto you, that there shall be more trouble in that day for Sodom and Gomorrah than that city.
So we all know what happened in Sodom and Gomorrah.
Where fire and brimstone completely destroyed the city.
Sodom and Gomorrah.
So... He's saying it's gonna be more tolerable for Sodom and Gomorrah than for that city.
That rejection.
So we know what happened to Sodom and Gomorrah.
Yeah.
It's nothing compared to what's gonna happen to that city.
And woe unto thee, Chesarin, woe unto thee, Bethsaida, for if mighty works have been done in Tyre and Sidon, which have been done in you, they had a great while ago repented, sitting in sackcloth and ashes.
But it shall be more tolerable in Tyre and Sidon at judgment than for you.
So we all know in the stories where Tyre and Sidon, The place was left in ashes.
So he's saying, That is some serious talk.
is going to be nothing compared to what's going to happen to you, which is the cities Chizan and Bethesda.
And though a Capernaum, which are exalted to heaven, shall be thrust down to hell.
So that's some serious talk, guys.
That is some serious talk.
These are the cities who reject him.
He's saying literally Capernaum is going to be thrust down to hell.
And he that heareth you, heareth me.
And he that despises you, despises me.
And he that despises me, despises him that sent me.
That's God the Father.
So you go and preach.
He's telling them, go preach, right?
And if they despise you, right?
Don't take a person because they're despising me.
They're despising you because of me.
And they despise me, they despise him the Father.
And the 70 return again with joy, saying, Lord, even the devils are subject unto us through thy name.
So as you can see, they're out there.
And again, Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John, they have different accounts for, you know, the same accounts.
I'm sorry about their own words, which are a little bit different, but the same things happen, you know what I mean?
So it's like four of us going to witness something we write a statement the word is going to be a little bit different but it's the same thing you know what I mean?
So there's more details than Matthew about you know the demonology they do like they're casting out demons I'm sorry.
So yeah as you can see they're also casting out demons.
And he said to them, Jesus told them, I beheld Satan as lightning fall from heaven.
And behold, I give unto you the power to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy, and nothing by any means shall hurt you.
So this is right after they said, Lord, we had the power because of you to cast out devils.
And Jesus says, because you know, Satan, he fell from heaven onto the earth like a bolt of lightning, literally.
But he tells them, listen, I give you the power to tread on serpents and scorpions and all over the power of the enemy and nothing shall by any means hurt you.
You know what that means here?
That's very powerful.
It's one of my favorite verses.
This is very powerful here.
Treading over the most fiercest of evil, that they are not going to harm you.
You got to be giving power over them.
And this is why Satan hates humans.
Even the people who serve him, he hates them.
And the people who serve him don't even know that.
But yeah, he wants humans dead.
He's jealous of us.
Because with the faith of Jesus, guys, we can do this.
If somebody's, uh, inflicted with demons, or devils, whatever, or spirits, we have the power to do this.
No, we don't have the power to forgive.
Because the thing is, like, the powers that... I want to explain this, like, in the last chapter.
The powers that were given unto these 70 plus 12 disciples, they didn't have those powers from then on.
There are certain abilities that they were able to do, and we are able to do, too.
Like, we have the authority to cast out demons in His name.
Not through us, but in His name.
We can do that.
We could pray for people to be healed.
We don't... We can't heal people.
That's not... They had the power for temporary to heal people.
And to forgive people.
At that time, it was temporary.
But that's no longer the case.
Because the Catholic Church will use this to say, well, that's why a priest can heal people, forgive sins, and all that.
No, they can't do that.
The Catholic Church has nothing to do with this at all.
And the Catholic Church didn't exist until 300 years after Peter already died.
So, I just wanted to point that out, because some other religions will misuse this too, to say this is what gives them the authority.
They don't have the authority.
We have the authority to do certain limited things these days.
Yes, we can pray over people, ask for healing, and it works.
It works.
It might not work right away, but we don't heal as Jesus does.
We have the authority to cast out demons and confront unclean spirits, even the principalities.
Especially to help people.
You know, that's a gift that we have through Jesus.
It's not our gift.
I mean, I'm sorry, not our powers.
It's a gift that's given to us.
But it's not us that do it.
It's through the Holy Spirit, through Jesus that we can do these things.
Except again, we can't just directly heal somebody.
Or we can't save somebody or bring somebody back from the dead.
Save somebody, in other words, forgive them for their sins and save them to the cross.
That's got to go through Jesus, not us.
So I just want to clarify that a little bit, yeah.
So, but yes, there are a lot of things we still could do to this day.
You know, again, if God's got a mission for you, even to this day, right?
He will give you the power to tread on serpents and scorpions and no harm will come upon you.
If He's got a mission for you or a destiny for you, nobody's got to deal with that.
And if you look back at the Founding Fathers, there's been many stories of George Washington and then there was Andrew Jackson.
Both when they were military generals, they were shot point-blank at.
And George Washington had a big hole in his coat from the bullet, but the bullet never even touched him.
Because it was destined for him to become president and found his country.
Andrew Jackson when he was in the war, I mean when he was president, I'm sorry.
Two military, I'm sorry, a military officer, a trained military officer, with two pistols, came in to assassinate him.
Put one pistol up to his head, pulled the trigger, didn't go off.
Put the second one up, didn't go off.
There was another instance, one of the, I think it was Andrew Jackson 2.
There was a cannon point blank, point blank at him.
Shot off, the ball came out and everything, didn't touch him.
There's countless stories about this stuff.
The thing is, if God's got a mission or has you to do something, guys, nothing could touch you.
And I'm going to use this, because this is why Jesus talked in parables, right?
So I'm going to use one here.
So just say, I'm God, right?
No, I don't want to even say that, because I'm not even worthy to even say that.
So just say, God says, we want everybody to walk from Los Angeles to New York, right?
And the enemies don't like that.
They're going to try everything to stop us.
Because it's a special mission God wants us to accomplish.
Did you say we all started walking from Los Angeles to New York, right?
Along the way, the world's militaries were there.
Every gun pointed at you.
Tanks, planes, bombs, nuclear weapons.
All trying to stop you.
Now I'm being literal too.
They shot off every weapon and everything else to try to stop you.
And not one hair upon your head will be touched.
That's the promise of, you know, the promise of the power of Jesus.
So yeah, when he gave these people, these 70 people in the 12 apostles, the power to go witness the people and gave them abilities for temporary to heal them and everything else, right?
And of course, yeah, Satan was working overtime.
He had bad people in those cities to try to stop them.
But Jesus says, hey, I gave you the power to tread over serpents and scorpions, and no harm will come upon you.
So now we're standing in this rejoice not, that the spirits are subject unto you, but rather rejoice, because your names are written in heaven.
So this is after they came back.
Again, they came back, they were like with joy, saying, Lord, we had the power Even over the devils, they're subject unto us through your name.
Again, they didn't glorify themselves, they said, through your name, they're subject unto us.
In other words, we tell them to do something, they do it.
So this is very powerful, yeah, this really is.
And he says, rejoice, because your names are written in heaven.
That's a beautiful thing to hear.
I hope I would hear that one day.
Yeah, imagine Jesus coming to you right now and says, rejoice, rejoice everybody, because your names are written in heaven, the book of life.
So verse 21, In that hour Jesus rejoiced in spirit and said, I thank thee, O Father, Lord of heaven and earth, that thou hast hid these things from the wise and prudent and has revealed them unto babes.
Even so, Father, for so it seemed good in thy sight.
So what did he talk about?
Hidden from the wise.
And the prudent.
You know, there's prominent people in the faith, right?
They didn't have these gifts.
Temple leaders and everything else, right?
Wise people in the faith, right?
They didn't have these gifts.
But he was allowed to give these gifts And to be revealed to these babes, just these young bucks, you know, these new people that started following him, 70 people plus the apostles.
And all these things are delivered to me of my father.
For no man knows who the son is but the father.
I gotta figure out a way to highlight this.
Yeah, so, sorry guys.
So, no man knows who the son is but the father, and who the father is but the son.
And he whom the Son will reveal him.
So when he turned to him and his disciples said privately, Bless are the eyes which see the things that he see.
For I tell you, that many prophets..." And before I get to this, I just want to explain this real quick too.
And again, it says, "...delivered me to my father.
And no man knows the son..." Who the son is, right?
"...but the father." But the father is, but the son isn't.
He and he knows the son will reveal him.
So through Jesus, he's revealing the Father.
Because the Father is set in Jesus, because he's the Son.
And through the Son, he reveals the Father.
And again, he turned to the disciples and privately said, And he has a thing, right?
Check this out, right?
This is amazing, right?
So now, all the prophets that came before Jesus, right?
John the Baptist, Elijah, Jeremiah, all the way back.
Moses and all these people, right?
Now at this point in the stage, right, the apostles have seen some miraculous stuff.
I mean, granted, the Jews that were with Moses, right, they've seen some, you know, the Red Sea opening up, they've seen a pillar, you know, holding the sun back from them in the day when they're crossing to the desert.
Pillar of fire at night to keep them warm.
All the miracles, right?
But nothing compared to what the apostles see.
And Jesus says, for I tell you, he's talking to the apostles, that many prophets and kings have desired to see the things which you see and have not seen them.
It's all through history from that point back, all those kings and prophets and everything else all desired to see what you guys see.
They didn't see it.
And to hear the things which you hear and have not heard them.
So basically what Jesus is saying, the things I'm showing you now, and you're hearing from me now, right?
All the prophets and all that, for years, generations, seek to hear those, to see those.
They haven't heard or seen those, but I am showing you these things now.
So this is like a huge privilege for the apostles.
I couldn't even imagine just looking at this and visualizing this here.
And that's what I do too, guys.
When I read the Scriptures, I try to visualize it.
I'm standing right there listening to Jesus.
You know, the words in red.
When he talks, guys, that's why it's important to read in context.
You know, don't read a single verse.
Read the whole thing in its context, which is the paragraph or chapter, right?
Until he gets done talking about that specific subject.
But anyway, you read and just visualize, right?
In your head, just visualize that's Jesus talking to you directly.
And it is!
Because through the power of the Holy Spirit, He's revealing to us directly into our hearts.
It's no longer just text we're reading.
This is the power of the Word of the Lord.
And here's the thing too, right?
Now, look at this, right?
The prophets and kings have decided to see and hear these things, right?
Which they have never, but the apostles don't.
That's a huge thing.
It really is.
So I'm going to say this to you guys now, right?
You could go to any Bible academy in this world.
The best colleges out there, right?
To learn the Bible.
But you will never, never, ever, ever, ever, Learn them this way that's taught.
Through the Holy Spirit.
The Holy Spirit is better than every professor on the planet combined.
So just like these guys, You know, people before them, they just learned it, but they, you know, seen it, whatever.
But you are, if you go through the Holy Spirit, guys, you will see things and hear things through the Scriptures, yeah?
And in real life, with visions, dreams, and prophecies coming true, you'll see them, hear them, better than a professor.
Better than the priest.
Because there's no greater teacher than the Holy Spirit.
Charles Spurgeon pointed this out, too.
So those people can brag about their credentials and their degrees and everything else, right?
Yeah.
Master's degree in theology and everything else, but none of them can teach the Word of God like this from the Holy Spirit.
That's why we always encourage you guys to pray for wisdom and understanding before you even start reading the Scriptures.
Because through God you can learn better than anybody else could teach you.
That's why it's always encouraged to read this for yourselves.
So verse 25, So it's the lawyer standing up, right?
Tempting Jesus.
What can I do to inherit eternal life?
And he said to him, what is written in the law?
How will we do this down?
So it's a lawyer standing up, right, tempting Jesus.
What can I do to return to life?
So Jesus, firing back at him basically, he needs to say, hey, listen, you're a lawyer, right?
So, what's the law say?
How do you read it?
And he answered and said, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart and all thy soul, and with all thy strength, and with all thy mind, and thy neighbor as thyself.
And he turned to him, Jesus turned to him and said, Thou hast answered right.
This do and thou shalt live.
In other words, the lawyer says, like, what can I do to inherit the kingdom, right?
And Jesus says, what does the law say?
And he recited the law, which is the first commandment there.
And he said, he answered, right, do this and you'll live.
So, you know the law, live by the law.
That's what he said.
Because you've got a lot of people out there who know the law, but they don't live by it.
But he, willing to justify himself, said unto Jesus, And who is my neighbor?
And Jesus answered and said, A certain man went down from Jerusalem to Jericho, and fell among thieves, which stripped him of his raiment, and wounded him, and departed him, leaving him half dead.
So talk about a certain man went to Jericho from Jerusalem.
He was jumped by a bunch of thieves.
They stole everything, even his clothing.
Left him there, butt naked, half dead, literally.
And by chance there came down a certain priest that way, and when he saw him, he passed by on the other side of the road.
So basically, this guy just got left for dead, right?
Now, a priest, right?
Supposed to help people, right?
You see this guy laying on the ground, like just almost in the grave, Laying there naked, just clearly in need of help.
What does he do?
Crosses the street and goes the other way.
Passes by him, I'm sorry.
On the other side of the road.
Avoided, right?
And likewise he said, Levi, when he was at a place, came and looked on him and passed by on the other side.
So Levi did the same thing.
Seen this man helpless and just went on and crossed the street.
And didn't do nothing to help him, right?
And he goes, uh, but a certain Samaritan, as he journeyed, came where he was, and when he saw him, he had compassion on him.
So now here comes this, uh, Samaritan, where this guy is laying there, ready to die.
Instead of just crossing the street and, you know, just like, alright, I'm gonna avoid this guy.
No.
He stopped to see him, and he had compassion.
He felt bad for him.
He's like, oh my god.
And he went to him, and bound up his wounds, poured in oil and wine, and set him on his own beast, and brought him back an inn, and took care of him.
So this guy's laying there.
Actually, his own beast was probably a horse or something, right?
He rode, but he's just laying there on the ground.
So he went over there, patched up his wounds, poured oil on him, and gave him some of the drink and everything.
Got up on the horse, or the camel, whatever it was, right?
And brought him down to an inn, which is today's world's hotel.
You know, you play a large way of staying.
And took care of him.
Brought him in there to take care of him, get him back healthy again.
And on the morrow when he departed, the next day, he took out two pence and gave them to the host, and said to him, take care of him, and whatsoever they'll spend more, when I come again, I will repay thee.
So at the end, when the guy, the Samaritan, he had to leave in the morning.
Thank you.
But he went to tell the people there, the host of the hotel, whatever.
You know, the inn.
He gave him two pence.
He gave him money basically to say, hey, could you take care of him?
And if you need any more money, when I come back this way, I'll pay you.
Just take care of the man to get him up and going.
So using his own time and money to do this, right?
To help this guy.
Now mind you, a priest went by.
Didn't want nothing to do with him, right?
A Levite went by, same thing.
Listen, in today's world this happens all the time.
You see somebody laying there on the street.
All you have to do is pull that knife out of his back to help him live.
People will just walk on him.
Might walk right over him, actually.
All kinds of examples.
You see a guy out there freezing.
Like, ready to die and he's hungry.
People drive right by him.
Instead of saying, alright, I'm going to take five minutes out of my time, I'm going to stop at the burger joint up the street, get him some hot food.
Swing back around and get him some hot food and something to drink.
Get him food and drink, he'll live for another day, you know?
You got an extra blank in the car, give it to him, you know, bottle of water, whatever the case.
But how many people drive, how many people drive by every day to people that need help?
So anyway, Jesus asked him, the lawyer, which now of these you think, though, was neighbor unto him that fell among thieves?
So he's like, which one, which one, which one helped the guy?
Yeah, he's explaining, right?
And he said that he showed mercy on him, and that Jesus said unto him, Go and do likewise.
Go and do likewise.
In other words, everything like the guy who helped the Samaritan, be like the Samaritan.
Go help... So remember, this is the lawyer who asked me what could I do to get to the Kingdom of God.
Obey the law, right?
Do good.
Don't be like the priest or the Levi.
Be like the Samaritan.
That's why the word Samaritan, if you notice these days.
CVS Pharmacy Company.
They have the CVS Samaritan Van.
It's a van that drives around on the highways and all that.
Looking for people that are disabled on the other side of the road.
Flat tires and all that.
That can't afford a tow truck.
They'll go out and try to repair the tire for you for free.
It's all free.
You run out of gas, they give you gas and everything else.
Whatever's going on, they'll try to help you the best they can.
To get you up on your way for free.
And that's what, you know, the phrase being a good Samaritan.
It's amazing even to this day, thousands of years later, that the word Samaritan still applies to being a person that helps people.
So that's what Jesus is saying.
He's saying He wants you to, like the lawyer here, right?
Like the lawyer, every one of us, He wants us to be good, to follow the laws, right?
Follow His laws, which is the Ten Commandments.
We go to this all the time.
I mean, the Ten Commandments are still law.
Unlike with the dispensational stretches each day, all the Ten Commandments were abolished or just for the Jews.
No.
Well, they'll say, well, Paul said they're nailed to the cross and abolished.
No, they weren't.
Those were the ordinances, those were the penalties, not the commandments.
Big difference.
We've done tons of shows on this, on our Spiritual Welfare Friday shows.
Any church out there that tells you the Ten Commandments don't apply to you, you need to brush the dust off your feet and leave that place.
Confront that pastor or priest or whatever, right in the congregation, put them in this place, then leave.
Jesus is saying, when we go through the scriptures, like Matthew and Mark, we show you what Jesus vividly stated to keep the commandments of God.
And his two commandments, His two commandments are the hangers, which the Ten Commandments hang on.
So he's saying, like, again, if you want to be in the kingdom of God, this is what he's telling you right now.
Do right, follow the law, and be a good Samaritan.
Help people.
Have compassion for people.
And Jesus said, He that showed mercy on him, then said Jesus unto him, Go and do likewise.
So, be like the Samaritan, he's saying.
He's telling that lawyer, be like the Samaritan.
He's telling you, be like the Samaritan.
He's telling that lawyer to keep the commandments.
He's telling you to keep the commandments, and me as well.
So now it came to pass, as they went, and they entered into a certain village, and a certain woman named Martha received him unto her house.
So they come into the village, so Mark, this woman, invites them into her house.
And I'm assuming it's Jesus and the apostles.
So, and she said, I'm sorry, she had a sister called Mary, which also sat at Jesus' feet and heard his word.
So Jesus is preaching in the house and having Food and everything else, right?
So Jesus is preaching and her sister, Martha's sister Mary comes along and sat by Jesus' feet as he was preaching.
But Martha was cumbered about much serving and came to him and said, Lord, does those not care that my sister has left me to serve alone?
Bid her that she help me.
So I guess Martha left.
of what I'm saying.
saying, well, actually, let me just read on because I don't want to butcher that up, guys.
So, and Jesus answered and said unto Martha, Martha, don't walk careful in trouble about many things, but one thing is needful.
But one thing is, sorry, guys, I had to pause for a minute.
But one thing is needful, and Mary has chosen that good part which shall not be taken away from her.
So we'll just continue on to chapter 11 to get clear clarification on what's going on here.
So when we go to chapter 11 guys, you'll understand what's going on here, because I mean... I don't want to give full clarification what I think it is, I want to give what the Bible says.
And this is what I'm talking about when you read stuff in context.
And you gotta remember too, guys, when the Bible was written, there wasn't no chapter numbers and verse numbers.
These were later put on.
A lot of people are not even aware of that.
So basically, when Mark was writing this book here, Luke, I'm sorry.
He didn't, I'm sorry, I'm going to stop here and go to verse 34, this chapter two, whatever the case.
No, he, they read it just straight through.
These were later on, hundreds of years later, David started adding on verses and chapters to make it easy to navigate through the Bible.
So, basically what we're leaving off here is the situation with Martha and Mary.
So, I can't sit here and explain what this even means, unless I go on to Chapter 11.
But when we get on to Chapter 11, we'll come back and resurface this here.
And we'll go there, because again, context is key.
This is a perfect demonstration of this.
So, earlier we said context is key, right?
Read description, context.
Context is key.
Let description interpret description.
Because right now we're a status, right?
We don't understand right now what's going on in the situation.
So this is what churches will do, right?
And I want to give a little warning about this.
They'll give, right from here, they'll give their own interpretation.
And people are not going to challenge it, right?
But when you go on to the next chapter... Because it's not all context here yet.
Read it to the next chapter until it's done talking about it.
That's the full context for it.
This way nobody can give you interpretation because it's Clarence Day.
You don't need to rely on somebody's interpretation.
Yeah, sure, maybe I can plug out interpretation, what I think it means, right now.
But that wouldn't be right to do.
Then we'll go on to the next chapter, you know what I mean?
that's where it ends up talking about it.
So we'll get into that later, guys.
And um... And I'm assuming like... Let me double check this guys.
I forgot to read... What I do is I normally pre-read the chapters.
Then do this video.
So I didn't do that today.
But I do remember the stories from Matthew and Mark.
So it looks like chapter 11 goes into something else.
And it came to pass when there was... Oh yes, alright.
Let me uh... Let's read that again.
So... I'm learning as I go along too guys.
So... I guess it is talking about in this uh... The rest of this chapter here.
So, once again, let's go with this one more time.
So... I don't edit nothing, guys.
The only time I do is I pause it once in a while when I record this.
Because, like, right now I'm getting over a bad cough and everything.
That's all I do, but I don't edit this.
So, you see it in a live show.
You know, like a live show, you know?
Without the edit, you know?
So, anyway, now it came to pass and went to enter a certain village and a certain woman named Martha received him into her house.
Welcomed him into her house, right?
So, let's get a good understanding of this.
And she had a sister called Mary, which also sat at the feet of Jesus, Jesus' feet, and heard his word.
So, this woman, Martha, invited them into the house, and whatever's going on, he's sitting there talking to them, and Mary's at his feet, the sister of Martha.
But Martha was concumbered about much serving, Cumbered, I'm sorry.
So let me, I don't even know what that word means.
So let's look that up right now.
Cumbered, right here.
So this is a study, a comprehensive study.
So if we don't know what a word means, go look it up.
And the thing is, if you don't know the name, I learn this all the time myself.
If you don't know what a word means, that could change the whole complexity of this whole thing.
Learn what the word means.
Probably not going to memorize it, but learn it anyway.
And this way you'll fully understand it.
So, cumbered is a verb dated past tense.
Hamped or hindered someone or something.
They were actually coming with great quotes and swords.
obstruct the road was clean and it's still not so that's what the word means cumberts So, to participate.
The past tense, all right?
So Martha was cumbered about much service.
So, yeah, I guess she was like... The past tense, yeah, I'm just trying to get a full understanding of this.
She was hindered, basically.
And came to him and said, Lord, does thou take care that my sister has left me to serve alone?
Okay, I see what's going on here.
So, Martha's sister left her.
This is what I'm trying to figure out.
Yeah.
Okay.
It said, you hear that she's left me to serve alone?
In other words, like to host you guys alone.
To, you know, bring your food and all that.
Bid her that she should come help me.
So she's asking Jesus to, you know, encourage her to come help me.
So I apologize, guys.
So now you got to understand this.
So I thought I'd continue on to chapter 11.
That's why I didn't bother trying to do this.
So now we can understand that this is the context of it, right?
So, alright, so once again, let's clear this up.
So, extra study, yeah.
So, Martha's sister Mary, which also sat at the feet of Jesus, heard his word.
But later, I guess, Mary just took off.
She left.
And Martha was cumbered about it.
So she was like, you know, again, the meaning, which is participate, hampered, and hindered.
About her sister taking off and leaving all the work for her to do.
Because when you have a whole, in other words, like for you and your spouse, right?
You invited some people over to your house or whatever the case, right?
You guys work together to serve them food, dinner, and everything else, right?
Just say one of the spouse just left to do all, you do the cooking all on your own, serving all on your own, doing the dishes all on your own, that's what's going on here.
But in this case, it's her sister Mary.
So Martha came to him and said, Lord, do you not care that my sister left for me to do all the work myself?
That's what she's saying.
Please ask her to come help me.
That's what she's asking, right?
And Jesus answered and said to her, Martha, Martha, thou art careful and troubled about many things.
In other words, don't worry about it.
Because Martha's all troubled about this.
That she's going to do all this by herself and all that, you know, serving her guests, yeah?
And Jesus says, Martha, Martha, relax.
You're troubled by many things.
Relax.
He says, But one thing is needful, and Mary has chosen that good part, which shall not be taken away from her.
So I guess Mary leaving was for a reason.
For a good reason, not that.
So in other words, you say, I'm not going to tell her to come back to help you because there's a good reason why she left.
So that's what happened here.
So.
So we're going to continue on to chapter 11 of the next video.
If you missed chapters 1 through 9.
Please check in our playlist here.
So, this was an awesome chapter and I actually learned something today myself.
So, it's pretty cool.
And so, trust the plan, the only plan is the Bible.
And that's what we call, guys, that was a raw, right there, that was a raw, in-depth, comprehensive study.
That's what a comprehensive study is supposed to be.
I wish we could do this on some kind of group thing that you all could participate in.
That'd be awesome.
So people could say, oh Dan, this means that.
You know what I mean?
To get a good understanding.
Because this one, like the end of this was a little tricky for me, to be honest.
I had to go into the next chapter to see if it ended there, and it did.
So then I had to go back, because thank God I did that, because I would have went into chapter 11, into a new subject, and off that topic, which would have, you know, to another context.
So we end up learning that this is in context.
It's just, I didn't take my time to read and write.
Read and write, learn the different definitions of words and everything else.
And this is why you gotta slow down.
I just learned that, you know, again, I gotta keep remembering that.
You gotta slow down and take your time.
There's no rush.
You shouldn't have to rush to redo these things.
I just learned that again today.
For the millionth time.
Slow down and take your time and understand what this has to say.
So you guys are seeing me a little blooper today.
So... But it was good blooper because it showed that, you know, humbleness.
We all must be humble.
Yeah, me trying to teach you guys.
I had to learn myself.
So this was a... I think this is a beautiful lesson.
So it wasn't a mess up.
It was a, you know, by the Holy Spirit.
The lesson taught to me.
So this was an awesome study, it really was.
So, thank you all for joining us, and I think this was a pretty cool study, so... And it's great when we learn stuff, it really is.
And I love it.
Every time I read the scripture, I don't care how many times I read it, I'm still learning something new.
That's why, guys, you need to trust it for yourself, and you need to read it for yourself.
Don't take my word, or nobody else's word for it.
Read it for yourself!
And I want you to read that chapter for yourself, and let me know what you get out of it.
Put it in the comment section.
And when it does premiere in the video, we have a premiere.
Engage in the chat, guys.
We have live chat, the fellowship, and everything else.
And right before the video is over, just hit pause if you want to stay in the chat for longer.
But yeah, this is awesome stuff.
So let me know in the regular comment section what you got out of this thing.
If you liked it or not, whatever the case, let me know.
If you want to criticize me, go for it.
God bless you.
