TruthRadioShow.com Shalom and welcome to the Dan Pondon Show on TruthRadioShow.com We are now in chapter 9 in a comprehensive study, in depth study of the book of Luke.
So if you missed chapters 1-8, we do individual chapters guys.
1-8 it's in our playlist.
So let's get on with this man and this is such an amazing, amazing book.
So what we do guys, and I don't mean to sound repetitive, but we have to do this.
Every time we do the show here, to read the scriptures, we do a specific Bible study approach.
Number one, before anything, we pray for wisdom and understanding, so let's do that right now.
So Lord Jesus, Yeshua Messiah, we come before you to ask you to forgive us for our individual sins and trespasses, to make us pure before the Father.
And Father, we come to your throne to ask you, In your mighty name, to once again give us the Holy Spirit to help us understand, to learn from the Holy Spirit, to have the Holy Spirit teach us the Word of God.
In this case today, the book of Luke chapter 9.
We ask you everybody, excuse me, we ask you Heavenly Father to forgive everybody here and to also encourage them.
And anybody that's going through any test, trials, or tribulations, or medical things, or whatever, we ask you to heal them, Lord, to comfort them, and to protect them against all forces of evil, and myself as well.
Protect myself from all forces of evil.
Protect us all.
And we ask you to bind us all, bind evil from us all, I'm sorry, and with the blood of Jesus, He is your Messiah.
And we ask you, in your heavenly name, Amen.
So now guys, we got done praying, which is the most important thing to do first.
We read the scripture in context, because context is key.
Because without the context, you're not going to understand a verse.
You know what I mean?
Like, we point this out all the time.
Religions all the time will throw a verse at you, and they can interpret it 10 different ways.
But when you read it in context, there's no room for interpretation.
Because it's so clear, that a kid could understand it.
And let the scripture interpret itself.
Let the scripture interpret scripture.
So when you don't understand something, keep reading.
Jesus, in this case here, will explain what he's talking about.
So he, like I said in the last video, when Jesus gave an instruction or something, right?
And still people wasn't sure.
So he would talk about it, you know, use layman's terms basically.
In other words, parables.
And maybe one or two, maybe three parables.
And even the disciples or whoever would ask for more explanation of it.
And he would actually give you the direct explanation So he did all this so you could not possibly misunderstand him.
That's what that's about.
So let's get on with chapter 9 here.
And as we went through chapter 8, it was a big chapter.
We learned about him pushing out the demons legion.
There's about 3,000 to 6,000 demons in one person.
Him healing a 12-year-old little girl.
Him healing a woman that had this blood disease and all that.
So now we're on to chapter 9.
So, and then he called his 12 disciples together and gave them power, because before we get to this, right?
Let me read this for us.
He called the 12 disciples together, right?
And gave them power and authority over all devils and to cure diseases.
Now, here's the thing, right?
At this point in time, when Jesus' fame and popularity started spreading wildfire, right?
Everywhere he went, he had masses, multitudes of thousands of people just asking him to help and all that.
So at this point right now, now he's going to step up the process.
So just him and his disciples, right?
All together, going to city after city.
Yeah, you're getting some stuff done, right?
But he figured this way, right?
Alright, now we need to step up the process.
Because my time is near.
So what he did now was, right?
He gave the apostles, the 12 apostles, the same abilities.
So they could go, they all could separate instead of going to one country at a time.
Now they could go to 13 countries at a time.
Or 13 cities, whatever, right?
And cure 13 times more than, you know, bring the word of God and the miracle of Jesus 13 times more than we're doing, right?
To increase the process.
So, and I want to point this out because the Catholic religion seems to believe that because Jesus gave the apostles this, therefore the priests have these powers to forgive people of sins and do all this stuff, right?
No.
Not in the case.
Not at all.
This was only temporary.
While Jesus was on the earth, we're gonna go through this, right?
Only for a short time.
Yeah, we could pray for people to heal and all that stuff, it works all the time.
But to have the actual power Jesus had?
The Catholic Church really believes that the priests have that.
Because of the apostles.
And of course, the apostles had nothing to do with the Catholic Church.
It wasn't even in existence 300 years later.
You know what I mean?
And this is not a religion.
The Church of Jesus is not a religion.
It's us, the people, the body of Christ.
It's not a building, not a religion, not a pope, or anything like that.
It's us.
I want to make that very clear right now.
So, as we learned, again, Jesus needs to step up the process.
So instead of going to one city at a time, now he can go to 13 cities at a time, because the Spirit is with the northern now, right?
He gave them the power to do this, right?
Authority over devils, to cast out devils, to cure diseases.
And he sent them to preach the kingdom of God and to heal the sick.
And he said unto them, take nothing for your journey.
Neither staves nor scrip, neither bread, neither money, neither have two coats apiece.
In other words, don't take nothing.
Don't pack your suitcase.
Don't take some clothes with you and all that, some spare clothes.
Don't take nothing.
Just go.
Just go!
Imagine right now, if somebody said right now, just go take a trip somewhere, right?
You gotta go, oh man, I gotta go home and pack my suitcase, I gotta get some travel checks or whatever, you know what I mean?
And they're like, no, just go.
Leave everything behind and go.
That's what Jesus taught him, right?
And he says, whatever house you shall enter, dare abide and thence depart.
Because back then, the hospitality was great.
If you went to spoke to somebody, right?
Even in some southern states.
You meet a stranger on the road, or on the corner, or whatever.
They help you out, whatever.
They start talking, they'll invite you to the house for dinner.
You know, back then this was common.
You know, today's world.
Nobody would think this is common.
You know, you would be invited to people's houses.
Even though, if you were a traveler, they would invite you to stay the night.
So you get some rest, right?
So that's what he's saying, and don't take nothing.
And when you go preach to people, if they invite you into the house and all that to give you food and all that, then lounge, go for it.
And whoever will not receive you, when you go out of that city, shake the very dust from your feet for that testimony against them.
So in other words, the symbolism of disobliterate, when they leave the town, if they went to a town that nobody wanted to receive them, or a city, I'm sorry, Town same thing.
And if the people didn't want to receive you, right?
What this means is shake the dust from your feet.
In other words, because I'm sure they were frustrated.
You know what I mean?
They got yelled at, swore at, ridiculed and almost attacked.
In other words, shake the dust from your feet.
Don't let it bother you.
Just leave it there.
Leave it in that city and walk out of the city as if it didn't happen.
That's what he's saying, right?
And they departed and went through the towns, preaching the gospel and healing everywhere.
So now again, instead of just, you know, the apostles and Jesus all together going to one city at a time, right?
Now they're going to 13 cities at a time.
Now Herod, the Tetriarch, heard of all this was being done by him, and he was perplexed.
Puzzled, you know?
What's going on?
Because this was said of some, that John was risen from the dead.
Because remember at this time, John the Baptist had been beheaded, in prison, right?
So they thought this was John resurrected.
They thought Jesus was John resurrected from the dead.
And some of the people thought it was Elias, the prophet, the great prophet, that lived about 300 years before this, right?
I think a little over 300 years, whatever, 600?
Forgot what it was.
But it was hundreds of years, okay?
And it's hard to remember all these numbers, but... But some people thought it was Elias, that it appeared.
And others thought that it was one of the old prophets who was risen again.
So, some people thought it was Elias, some people thought it was Joshua, Moses, you know, Enoch, all the prophets that lived before him.
So, it was a big speculation, who this guy was.
Is this John resurrected?
Is this Elias or any of the prophets resurrected?
That's doing this stuff?
They were just perplexed.
So when Herod said, John I have beheaded, but who is this?
So you figure, alright I beheaded John, so this can't be John.
Who is this?
Of whom I hear such things?
And he decided to see him.
So he's like, alright I want to see this guy.
Because I know it's not John, we beheaded the guy, so Who is this?
And the apostles, when they returned, told him what they had done.
And he took them and went aside privately into a desert place belonging to the city called Bathsheba.
I'm not going to butcher the names of the cities, guys.
I apologize.
So, you know at this point, guys, the apostles, they...
They, again, they were given these powers for a short time.
They didn't take them to the grave, whatever.
That's not how it worked, you know what I mean?
It was just to spread the gospel, that's all it was.
So they returned to Jesus, and they went primarily to a deserted place.
Belonging to the city called Basidou.
And the people who knew it followed him and received them and spoke unto the kingdom of God and healed them and had the need of healing, right?
And when the day began to wear away, he came to the apostles and said to him, Send the multitude away that they may go into the towns and countries and roundabouts and lodge and get victuals.
In other words send them you know because this is all day now right.
You guys just tell me everybody go home get some rest get something to eat.
You know.
Because we're not here we're we are here in a desert place.
So this is a hot place you know what I mean.
So you tell everybody alright guys we've been here for a long time.
To all the multitudes of people.
Just go home.
Go do what you gotta do.
go to the bathroom probably do all that stuff.
Get something to eat, drink, and get some rest.
But he said it to them that's what Jesus said to them, give them something to eat.
And he said we have no more food.
We only have five loaves and two fish, except we go buy meat for all the people.
So in other words, before he said it to them, let's give them something to eat.
For that journey.
Because it was a journey back home, right?
So they said, let's give them something to eat for the journey, you know?
So the pastor was like, oh, Jesus, we've got a problem here.
Yeah, we might have to go to the market to buy food.
Because we only have five loaves of bread and two fish.
And there were about 5,000 men.
There was 5,000 people out there, right?
They had to feed.
So now like, oh man, five loaves of bread and two fishes.
Oh, we have to go to the market, yeah.
Because that's not enough for everybody.
It's barely enough for us.
For the 13 of us.
And he said to his disciples, make them all sit down by 50 in the company.
So basically 50 people each section, right?
They did that, right?
And they made them all sit down.
And he took the five loaves and the two fish and looked up to heaven and blessed them.
And he started and he break the bread and gave his disciples a sip before the multitude.
So Emmanuel and what he's doing is there's only five loaves of bread and two fish.
Not even barely enough to feed them.
Right?
But Jesus kept breaking and breaking and breaking and breaking.
Off the same loaves and all that.
And all of a sudden, you know, he's giving.
And they did eat.
And all were filled.
So, he filled the stomachs of 5,000 people.
So now with the way everybody was done, they have leftovers, you know what I mean?
You have the leftovers.
There was taken up of fragments with the leftovers, right?
That remained about 12 baskets.
You see the number 12 is significant in the last two chapters, right?
The lady in the last chapter there, she had a disease in her blood for 12 years.
The 12 year old died and he resurrected her.
The Twelve Disciples.
So, I'm not, you know, I'm not, you know, going down the Gematria Road or anything like that.
I'm just saying, twelve is very significant, right?
In a biblical way, you know?
So anyway, after everybody, over five loaves of bread and two fish, right?
After everybody was done eating, they had remnants, you know, leftovers.
In other words, if you eat off your plate, you still got a lot left.
You put it away for the next day or something, right?
But anyway, they went around picking up the remnants.
The leftovers of people, right?
It filled twelve baskets.
So as you can see, he not only fed 5,000 people and themselves with only two fish and five loaves of bread, he took up the leftovers, 12 baskets full of the leftovers.
That's the miracle of God right there.
And it came to pass as he was alone praying, his disciples were with him, and he asked them, saying, Whom say the people I am?
So he's asking them, who is it?
Because, you know, remember Herod?
You know, these people wonder if he's John the Baptist resurrected or one of the prophets, Elias or anything.
So Jesus asked the apostles, who do these people think I am?
And they answered him, said, John the Baptist.
But some say you're Elias, and others say one of the old prophets risen again.
And he said unto them, but who do you say I am?
Because Jesus knew what was going on, but this was the reason why he asked us.
He always does these things for a reason, right?
So he asked the prophets, I'm sorry, the apostles.
So who are these people saying I am?
They say, well, John, whatever, right?
But he asked the apostles, well, who do you think I am?
Peter answered and said, the Christ of God.
In other words, the Son of God, the Messiah.
And he straightly charged them and commanded them to tell no man that thing, right?
Saying that the Son of Man must suffer many things, and be rejected of the elders, and the chief priests and the scribes, and be slain, and be raised again on the third day.
So he said, don't say nothing for now, right?
But this is what's gonna happen.
And as you can see, there was a common thread, trend, I'm sorry, that the priest, the scribes, the elders, constantly, constantly try to goad Jesus to say something wrong.
Because the thing is, they wanted to take Jesus out of the picture, but they couldn't.
Because of multitudes of people would fight against him.
So they needed a legit reason to charge Jesus.
Even when they did, they still didn't have no legit reason.
But, yeah.
They had to use lies and everything else to do it eventually.
But, he's saying, he's telling the apostles that it's my time to come.
Now remember at the beginning of the chapter I told you?
Because his time was near, that's why he gave the apostles, you know, these gifts to do these things, the authority.
Because he had to step up the process to spread the gospel.
Because his time was coming there.
So now after this is all said and done, he already ate and all that stuff.
He goes, listen guys.
My time is coming.
The priest, the scribes, the elders, they're gonna bring me, they're gonna slay me.
And he goes, but I'll be raised on the third day.
And he said to them, if any man comes after me, let him deny himself and take up his cross daily and follow me.
So in other words, if we want to follow Jesus, right?
You've got to take up your cross.
Daily.
In other words, you've got to... The cross, you know, the crucifixion, was to bear the sins of the world and all that stuff.
That's what we've got to do.
We've got to sacrifice our own selves.
Not in the literal sense, you know what I mean?
But in the sense that we are born again.
Our sinful ways are going to be nailed to the cross.
You know, as Paul says, the ordinance is not this commandment.
It's the ordinance that was nailed to the cross and blotted out.
That's what we gotta do.
We gotta repent of our sins, follow Jesus, and those things held against us were nailed to the cross and blotted out.
That's what Paul means by that.
That doesn't mean that's in Galatians.
That doesn't mean the Ten Commandments are invalid.
So, this is what Paul's meaning too.
The ordinance is against us.
The charge is against us, guys.
To commit sin.
If we come to Jesus, they're nailed to the cross and this goes right back to heaven.
If any man will come after me, they need to deny themselves and take up his cross daily and follow me.
That's what all that means.
It goes right back to this.
For whoever shall save his life and lose it, But whoever will lose his life for my sake in the same shall save it.
So in other words, people who save themselves and all that stuff, in the end they're gonna end up losing it.
Those people are gonna go into hell.
That's the second death, right?
But whoever will lose his life for my name's sake, And this is referring to, guys, I'm sorry, let me rephrase that.
This is referring to, basically, when it comes time, and, you know, the tribulation and all that stuff we're going to face before life, we're going to face some heavy tribulations, guys.
It's going to come to a point where we're caught in captivity, as the Bible says.
Jesus says he comes after the tribulation, by the way, in Matthew, chapter 4.
But he says, you know, we're going to be caught in tribulation, you know what I mean?
Trials.
And they're going to make us deny Christ, to take Him to the mark of the beast and all that, right?
So, if you just say whatever you have to say to save your life... Oh, God's gonna forgive me.
You know, if I take the mark of bees, or if I deny Him just to save me and my family's life, Jesus is gonna forgive me?
No.
Not at all.
You gotta lose your life.
That's what this exactly says.
But whoever will lose his life in my name's sake, shall save it.
So, if you are caught in captivity, whatever happens, and it's come time for you to say we're gonna kill your family right now, if you don't take this mark of the beast, say no, I'm not doing it.
It'll be better for them to take you and your family's life then, than their self-returning in hell.
There's two unforgivable sins in the Bible, guys.
One, blasphemy of the Holy Spirit.
Two, is taking that mockery of the beast.
Don't care who you are.
You take that mockery, done.
That's it.
And before you take that mockery, you literally have to deny Jesus Christ and worship the beast.
So he's saying, if you die for my name's sake, if you die for persecution today, good not only for the Maccabees, but anything.
If you get caught in some Islamic country or whatever, you deny Jesus, yeah, you gotta be denied.
You gotta lose your life to save your life, right?
But if you lose your life for his name's sake, guess what?
You'll save it.
You'll be given the modest crown in heaven.
They can go for a bunch of different things, guys, but never deny Jesus Christ.
And he says, for what?
Is a man's advantages if he gains the whole world and loses himself or be cast away Yeah, like I said If you give in It's just to save your life, right?
Yeah, all right.
You might live for a little while longer But in the end, yeah, you gotta be cast away So what good is it?
What advantages are there for you?
So you can live a few more years extra That when you suffer a churning in hell, is a few more years of having good things and all that worth it?
What good is it?
What advantage do you have if you don't have none?
not.
And whoever shall be ashamed of me and of my words, of him shall the son of man be ashamed when he shall come to his own glory and his father's and his holy angels.
So as we learn in Matthew, he says, if you deny me before man, I will deny you before the father.
Yeah, you're not going to heaven.
You know why?
I just did that to save somebody or whatever.
You know, it doesn't matter.
You need to never deny Jesus Christ.
If you're in a crowd, even for peer pressure or whatever, never deny Jesus Christ.
Me, I say, yeah, I follow Jesus, so what?
You got a problem with it?
And if they do got a problem with it, good, because it glorifies Jesus.
But I tell you of a truth.
There shall be some standing here which not taste death until they see the kingdom of God.
So now let's hear this verse again, you know, religiously talked about, that take single verses out of context, right?
There's a faith out there called Preterism.
They believe all the prophecies were fulfilled in the first century, 70 AD, that Jesus came back and all was fulfilled.
It's a, it's a satanic doctrine.
And any history person can tell you not nearly, the only thing was fulfilled back then was the destruction of the Second Temple.
But all the other prophecies have just started being fulfilled over the 18th, 19th, and 20th century.
And there's still a couple more to go.
Before Jesus returns.
It says immediately after the tribulation.
But this is not what this means.
Because I'll take this verse out of context.
What this means is to see the Kingdom of God.
In other words, His return.
So he says, I'll be telling you the truth.
There'll be some standing here.
I'm talking to the apostles, right?
They shall not taste death until they see Him return.
He's the kingdom of God returned.
You know what I mean?
And it came to pass, about eight days after these sayings, he took Peter, John, and James and went up to a mountain to pray.
And as he prayed, the fashion of his countenance resulted, and his raiment was white and glossy.
This is the Transfiguration.
I just did a show on this last Friday.
A special warfare show.
The Transfiguration of Jesus.
You know, it's called The Battle for the Body of Moses.
So, we incorporated that within there.
So, that's the show.
It's called The Battle for the Body of Moses.
That was a Special Warfare Friday show.
We talked about this too.
But, this is when Jesus took Peter, James, and John.
Peter, James, and John.
Peter, John, and James.
Up to a mountain to pray.
When Jesus transfigured into this bright raiment of white light.
It's like the light of the sun.
Matthew describes it a little bit better.
And behold, there talked with him two men, which were Moses and Elias.
Now, a lot of mind, Moses died thousands of years before this point.
And Elias, okay, the prophet Elias lived about 600 years before this.
So another, now Peter, James, and John, they're seeing this.
Jesus transfigured in his being of light.
And we're speaking to Moses and Elias.
And who appeared in glory, and people say, well, how do you know, how do they know who the, uh... There's a lot of people asking on the show what I did the other night.
How do they know it was Moses and Elias?
Because, obviously, Jesus told them that, or they present themselves as that.
Or Jesus told them who it was later, you know what I mean?
But that's in, Jesus transfigured into a spiritual being.
Talking to two other, two other spirits, right?
And who appeared in glory, and spake of the decease of who should be accomplished at Jerusalem.
So they spoke with the dead, which he would be accomplished in Jerusalem, right?
But Peter and they that were with him were heavy with sleep.
And when they awoke, they saw his glory and the two men that stood up with him.
And the other part too is, oh, that goes, never mind, I get that.
So when it came to pass, as they departed from him, Peter said unto Jesus, Master, is it good for us to be here?
Should we be here?
That's what he's asking.
Can we make an altar?
Should we make an altar?
Tabernacles for all three of you?
For you, for Moses, for Elias?
Not knowing what he said?
So they're just baffled.
Wow.
Should we be here?
Do you want us to make an altar for you guys?
And while he thus spoke, there came a cloud, overshadowed them, and they feared as they entered the cloud.
So a big cloud came over the mountain, and it scared the apostles.
And there came a loud voice out of the cloud, saying, This is my beloved son.
Hear him, for who I am well pleased, as the Master says.
Right?
Christ shook these guys out of their boots.
Imagine hearing the thunderous voice of the Father himself, the Creator.
And I want to point this out, too.
The reason why God appeared as the burning bush of Moses, clouds and whatnot, right?
Because the raiment of God, the radiance of Him, right?
If you were to see His face, you'd drop dead.
Even Moses, you've seen the burning bush.
He aged significantly.
And His face was glowing after this encounter.
Because He scared the heck out of the Jews when He came down from the mountain.
That's the beam coming.
Yeah, this guy comes down with a glowing face.
You know, it's Moses because he's seen God.
In the form of the burning bush.
That's why he has to appear like that.
Because if you've seen him in the flesh, yeah?
If we're in the flesh and we've seen him without being in the spirit.
Yeah, you'll drop dead instantly.
His radiance will kill you.
Doesn't matter how much faith you have in him.
Any of us would drop dead if we've seen him.
For the hole that he is, you know?
That's why we gotta be pure, we gotta have pure garments and everything to be in the presence of the Father.
And through Jesus Christ.
And when the voice was passed, Jesus was found alone.
And they kept it close, and they told no man in those days of any of the things which they had seen.
So, Jesus said, you know, at the apostles, right there, He said, don't tell anybody yet.
And obviously when they read, because they were instructed by Jesus to write this stuff, right?
Don't tell nobody right now.
What did you just see?
So imagine being an apostle to witness something like that.
I couldn't even imagine.
So when it came to pass that the next day when it would come down from the hill much more people met him.
So they were up there for a while.
And I don't know if you've all been on a mountain man.
Mountain, excuse me, Mount Washington.
It takes hours to climb up that.
I couldn't imagine one of these mountains.
It's a day's journey.
So when they come back off the hill, there's so many people out there just waiting from down the hill, right?
Off the mountain.
And behold, a man of the company cried out, saying, Master, I beseech thee, look upon my son, for he is my only child.
And lo, a spirit taken him, and he suddenly cried out, and in his tears of him, and forward again, and brushing him, hardly depart from him.
So he's talking about the son being possessed.
So, and I besought thy disciple to cast him out, and they could not.
Now here, this is... Remember at the beginning of the chapter I told you the apostles had these abilities?
For a short time?
And it's right here that debunks the Catholic belief that... Because the thing is, the Catholic priests have nothing to do with the... You know, the apostles.
They think they do, but they don't.
You know, they say Peter was the first pope.
No, he was never a pope.
The first pope wasn't to Constantine, that's 300 years after Peter had died.
But regardless, okay?
Right now, because now we say, well, the apostles tried to help my son.
They couldn't do it.
They couldn't cast him out.
The demon, right?
And Jesus answered and said, O faithless and perverse generation, how long shall I be with you and suffer you and bring forth thy son?
So I say, how long do I need to be with you guys for you to get the picture?
Faithless.
He was saying to the apostle still.
How long do I gotta be with you?
For you guys to get the point here.
And he goes, bring the son here.
And that he was just yet coming, the devil threw him down and tear him, and Jesus rebuked the unclean spirit and healed the child and delivered him again to his father.
So the devil talked about a demon, you know what I mean?
And they were all amazed at the mighty power of God.
But while they wondered, every one of these things Jesus did and said unto his disciples, Let these sayings sink down in your heart ears, that the Son of Man shall be delivered into the hands of men.
So he's telling them again, like, how long do I got to be with you guys to get the point?
Have faith.
Have faith.
Casting out the demon and he's telling people now, listen, I'm not going to be here much longer.
I'm going to be delivered into the hands of men.
Now obviously people say, well, why don't you just get away from that?
Just go somewhere.
But the whole point of Jesus coming is to be for this day, to be slain.
That's his entire reason.
You know, it sounds horrible.
The entire point of him coming to the earth is to bring the gospel and to be slain.
Because it's a blood to atone for sins, right?
At the time it was, you know, like a lamb or something.
He was the final lamb to sacrifice.
The Lamb of God.
Instead of sacrificing things, and now it's like the atonement of Jesus Christ's blood.
So he's saying, look, I'm not going to be here too much longer.
They're going to slay me.
But they understood not saying the same.
They didn't understand what he was saying.
And it was hid from them that they perceived him not and they feared to ask him of the same.
So they were like... They didn't understand too much and they were afraid to ask him, what do you mean by this?
Then there arose a reason among them which should be the greatest.
So they're trying to figure out what he's talking about.
And Jesus perceived the thought of their heart and took a child and set him by him.
So basically he's trying to tell them, I'm not going to be alright.
And they're afraid to ask him, what do you mean by this?
So they start pondering what he's talking about.
Understand what he's talking about.
So Jesus said, hold on guys, because he felt what was going on in their hearts.
So he went over and took a child and set him beside him, right?
And he said unto them, Whoever shall receive this child in my name, receives it's me.
But whoever shall receive me, receives it's him that sent me.
For he is the least among you all, but the same shall be the great.
So you gotta be like a child to God.
You know what I mean?
You gotta be like a child.
Matthew explains this a little bit better.
You gotta be like a child to God.
If you're not like that child, like because the child's just innocent and just believes, you know, and trusts your mother, you know, the father, like when you were a baby, you trusted your parents.
Like having the faith in them, right?
And that's what he wants you to be like that child, but to have faith in him.
And John answered him and said, Master, we saw one casting out devils in thy name, and we forbid him because he followed not with us.
And Jesus said to him, Forbid him not, for he is not against us at all, but he is for us.
So I guess John misunderstood something.
You know, he seen one casting out devils in his name, the name of Jesus.
But he went over and tried to forbid him because he thought he wasn't following us, right?
And Jesus told him, no, no, no, no.
Don't forbid him because he is not against us.
He's actually for us.
So he corrected John here, right?
And it came to pass when the time was come that he should be received up.
He steadfastly set his face to go to Jerusalem.
So it was time to calm that, yeah.
You know, it's time for them to literally capture, you know, charge him and put him to death.
You know, the crucifixion coming up.
So... So he sent messages before his face.
But they went in then to a village of the Samaritans to make ready for him.
And they did not receive him because his face was not a throw the wood to Jerusalem.
So they didn't want to receive him because he was headed to Jerusalem.
And when the Apostle, I'm sorry, the Disciples James and John saw this, they said, Lord, will Thou command the fire to come down from heaven and consume them even as Elias did?
So they're saying, You know, talk about him being captured.
Just command the fire to consume them.
Just set fire from heaven to stop them from doing it.
And Jesus turned and rebuked them, saying, You know not what manner of spirit you are?
Are of?
For the Son of Man has not come to destroy men's lives, but to save them.
And they went to another village.
So they're not grasping the concept.
That I came here to die for your sins.
That's my primary purpose is me being here.
To save the world and die for their sins.
Because of the apostles of James and John were like, come on man.
It's like, we don't want you to go.
If they come after you, just call fire from heaven to destroy them.
And Jesus told him, no.
It's like, we rebuke them.
He said, no, that's not how it goes.
We'll be in our spare are you.
Love.
You're Satan or me, you know?
You know why I'm here.
And that's the way it's gonna be.
So it came to pass that as I went in the way, a certain man said to him, Lord, I will follow thee wherever you go.
And he said to him, foxes have holes and birds of the air have nests, but the son of man has nowhere to lay his head.
Right?
Like he has no, nothing... Like in other words, if you left right now, right?
You have some things that keep you down from leaving.
Like if you just want to go to another state, right?
You can't just pick up and move like that.
You gotta sell your house, if you have an old house.
Or you gotta, uh... You know, get rid of your apartment.
Now you might have to sell your things.
And you have to do a lot of pro... It's a process just to move to another state, right?
Pack your stuff and all that.
But as he's saying, I have nothing.
There's no... I don't have a house.
Hearing that nothing's holding me back.
So, he points this out for a reason, right?
Because this guy came up to him, asked him, hey, I want to follow you.
Just tell me to do whatever you want me to do.
And I'll go with you, right?
And she says, I have nowhere to go.
I remind myself, you know, the foxes have holes, the birds of the air have nests, but I, as a man, have nowhere to lay his head.
And he said to another, follow me.
But he said, Lord, suffer me first to go bury my father, right?
So he says, I'll follow you, but hold on, sir.
Hold on.
Let me just go bury my father.
Let me take care of some biddings.
So don't worry about your father.
Let the dead bury the dead.
But go though and preach the kingdom of God.
So don't worry about your father.
Let the dead bury the dead.
Besides just the body.
And there's another account too.
When somebody wanted to follow him.
That's where I thought this was going.
So when somebody wanted to follow him, he told them to go sell his riches and everything, right?
And, you know, it was a guy who had some, you know, assets and all that.
Go sell your riches and all that and give it to the poor.
Then you can come follow me.
The guy didn't want to do that.
So anyway, and another also said, Lord, I'll follow thee, but first let me go bid them farewell, which are at my home and my house.
So I'll follow you right now, but I just want to go say bye to my friends and my family that's at home, right?
And he said to them, no man... Yeah, it's a high light thing.
Jesus said to him, no man having put his hand to the plunge and looking back is fit for the kingdom of God.
So you get the concept of what this is saying?
Because people say, you know, I gotta do this first, I gotta do that first.
If you gotta put all these things ahead of you, okay, you're not fit for the Kingdom of God.
Like right now people say, well, you know, if I die tomorrow, I mean, before I die I want to do this, I want to do that, I have to, you know, it's like, if you want to go to the Kingdom of God, you just gotta leave everything gone, you know?
Many meanings for this.
So if you want to follow the kingdom of God, if something's holding you down, this is what it's saying.
If something is holding you down right now from proceeding to follow God to do God's work, right?
Yeah, you gotta choose that or choose, you know, it's no middle ground, you need to choose one or the other.
In other words, if right now, like, if you're working three jobs and you want to preach the word of God but you don't have time, guess what?
You either work the three jobs, or guess what?
You need to quit one of those jobs, And you make the time to do these things.
You know what I mean?
If there's something going on, okay, that's preventing you from following Jesus right now.
That's what this means.
This is the message.
If something right now is preventing you from following Jesus and preaching the word of God, right?
You need to correct yourself.
If you got a spouse, a boyfriend, girlfriend, whatever, that you want to preach the word of God, but they're against it, and they're a roadblock to you guys, you need to do one of two things.
You need to tell them, you need to lay the law down, who you are, what you're going to do, try to lead by example, and hopefully convert them, right?
Or you need to leave them.
Sad to say, but this is what you need to do.
If you have the talent or the gift that God's given you, To go produce fruit.
Right?
And if something or someone is holding you down.
You need to lay the law down.
Or quit the place or leave the person.
Like in my relationship.
Before I even started.
My soon to be wife.
She already knew what I was doing.
I had my ex-wife dad.
Who ended up cheating on me and everything else.
And the daughter gets too much of that garbage.
But she didn't like what I was doing.
She got in the way constantly, and yeah, it had to come to an end.
And it could be anything.
It could be Korea, it could be anything.
People say, well, I need money, I need money so I have to work.
So yeah, we all need money to live, right?
But, you know, adjust around God's way, and God will provide.
So if it means you have to quit a certain job, whatever, do it.
You know what I mean?
That's what you need to do.
Let the dead bury the dead.
You know what I mean?
And again, no man haven't put his hand to the plunge.
And looking back.
It's fit for the kingdom of God.
So, if you got something tying you down.
From doing this stuff guys.
Don't look back.
Don't look back.
Don't say, you know what?
Say, heck with it.
I'm just going to go and do it.
And whatever happens, happens.
Bow and goodbye from me.
That's what you need to do.
Guys, if you like any of this stuff sold out, you're not fit for the kingdom of God.
That's not my words, guys.
That's right from the word of Jesus Christ.
So guys, thank you for joining the broadcast here.
