TruthRadioShow.com Shalom and welcome to the Dan Bidani Show on TruthRadioShow.com So we are now on to the Gospel of Mark chapter 3.
So if you missed chapters 1 through 2, it's in the playlist.
And we also covered the book of Matthew, chapter by chapter, and also the book of Jude.
So if you missed them, guys, they are in the playlist.
So before we get started, we like to do this.
We go through a biblical study approach.
And if you're looking for a Video that just reads through the Bible, we don't do that here.
We read through it in context.
We study it in full depth, instead of just reading through it.
So we want to get your full understanding to you of what the scripture says.
And, you know, so what we do first is we pray for wisdom and understanding.
So we begin our prayer to Yeshua Messiah, Jesus Christ, we pray to you and ask you to forgive us for our sins and trespasses and make us pure before the Father.
Father, we ask you to Help us learn your amazing word today, Matthew, I'm sorry, the Book of Mark, Chapter 3.
And we ask you to give us the Holy Spirit, the Divine Teacher, to teach us everything that the Scripture offers to us.
In your name, Amen.
So what we do, guys, is we read the Scripture in context, because context is key.
What most ministries don't do, they cherry-pick verses and bounce all over the place.
We don't do that yet.
We read the Scripture in context, and context is key.
And we let the Scripture interpret Scripture.
And we don't lean on our own understanding.
We let the Scripture interpret itself, and the Holy Spirit interprets it as well.
So we're on to chapter 3.
And if you've got a Bible, guys, open it up.
If you're watching on the screen here, we...
Some of the networks that share our show, they're audio.
So, if you're on audio, please open up the Bible.
If not, we have the Bible up here, the King James Version.
So, anyway, Mark Chapter 3.
So, we left off in Chapter 2, where Jesus was going around healing a lot of people.
And they did some stuff on the Sabbath, which the Pharisees and all them accused Jesus, Scribes, I'm sorry, accused Jesus of violating the Sabbath.
Which Jesus did no such thing, you know what I mean?
And we left off explaining what the Sabbath, you know, because a lot of people, dispensationalist churches especially, think the Sabbath no longer is required to us.
Which is totally false, you know what I mean?
Jesus told us to keep the commandments of God.
We'll learn that in Revelation, and also through Matthew, Mark, Luke, John, and so on, Jesus vividly said to keep the commandments of God.
And yes, when we go to Hebrews, the book of Hebrews, chapter 4, Paul vividly explains how they kept the Sabbath.
Which is the seventh day of creation, the sanctified day.
So, and we left off where it said the Sabbath was made for man, not man for the Sabbath.
In other words, the Sabbath is made for you to follow.
Not for God to revolve around your schedule.
You know what I mean?
And therefore the Son of Man is also the Lord of the Sabbath.
Because He is the Word made flesh.
So, of course, the scribes and all that tried, and the Jews tried to accuse Jesus of violating the Sabbath when he did no such thing.
So, now on to Mark chapter 3.
So, and he entered into the synagogue, and when a man was there with a withered hand, they watched him, whether he could heal him on the Sabbath day, because right now it's still no Sabbath day.
You know, this is continuing on from chapter 2.
So, this is the Sabbath day at this point, right?
So, he entered the synagogue and there was a man with a hand.
So, they were watching him like a hawk.
And whether he could heal him on the Sabbath day, that they may accuse him.
So, they were hoping to see this, so they could accuse him of violence.
Because, like when we cover the book of Matthew, remember the Jews, the scribes and the priests and all that, they are looking for any little reason To have Jesus arrested and persecuted and everything else, so... Yeah, they're watching him like a hawk, right?
So...
And he said unto the man, which was with a hand, stretch forth thy hand, stand forth, right?
And said unto him, Is it lawful to do good on the Sabbath days, or is it to do evil?
To save a life or to kill?
But they held their peace.
So Jesus, like, you know, he knew their thoughts and, you know, all that.
So he turned to them and said, Hey, listen, it's like, because he's got to heal this man, right?
And they're waiting.
Do it, do it so he can accuse you, right?
And he turned to them.
It said to them, is it lawful to do good on the Sabbath days, or to do evil?
To save a life or to kill?
So, right away they're like, they just held their peace, you know what I mean?
Like, alright, yeah.
Because it's not against the Sabbath to do good on the Sabbath day.
Or to save a life.
If somebody's in trouble on the Sabbath day, go save them.
If you're hungry, go eat.
You know what I mean?
Jesus explained this and demonstrated this through the scriptures.
You know what I mean?
It's not a violation of the Sabbath day.
And they say, you know, you got people, oh, Jesus worked on the Sabbath.
He violated it.
Healing people is not working.
Preaching is not working.
That's what he did.
He didn't work on the Sabbath.
And they plucked corn like we showed, right?
Because they were hungry.
They didn't pluck corn to sell it.
They plucked corn because they were hungry.
And it's not unlawful to eat on the Sabbath, it's not unlawful to help somebody that's in desperation on the Sabbath, or to save a life or whatever, you know what I mean?
So Jesus demonstrated this.
So verse 5, "...and when he looked about on them with anger, being grieved for hardness on their hearts, he said unto the man, Stretch forth your hand.
And he stretched it out, and his hand was restored whole as the other." So Jesus healed this man with his hand.
And the Pharisees went forth and straight away took counsel with the Herodans against him, how they might destroy him.
So, take counsel means they gather together and say, all right, we'll discuss how they're going to try to bring charges up against Jesus.
Accusing them of violating the Sabbath, you know what I mean?
And blasphemy and everything else, which is no, they did no such thing.
So, but Jesus withdrew himself with the disciples to the sea, and a great multitude from Galilee followed him from Judea.
So Jesus left the synagogue right away with the disciples, and a great number of people, which multitude is, we don't know how much multitude, it could be thousands, who knows.
So, there's a lot of people.
So, they all followed him from Galilee And from Judea.
So, and from Jerusalem, and from Andamia, and from beyond Jordan, and they about Tyre and Sidon, a great multitude, when they heard, heard, was a great things he'd done, and they came unto him.
So, all these people from all these different locations, right, they were following him, and people just, you know, his popularity was going through the roof.
Because everybody's hearing about the amazing things that Jesus is doing.
And he spoke to the disciples that a small ship should wait on him because of the multitude, lest they should throw him.
So he told his disciples, get the ship ready.
We gotta get out of here, you know what I mean?
Because there's thousands of people.
You know what I mean?
For Jesus, yeah, for he had healed many, insomuch that they were pressed upon him for to touch him.
And as many had plagues.
So all the people there, most of these people had some kind of plague or disease or demons or whatever the case, right?
And Jesus healed all these people.
And as it goes on here to say, "...and unclean spirits, and when they saw him, fell down before him and cried, saying, Thou art son of God.
And he straightly charged them that they should not make him known." So, more of the situations here were unclean spirits.
When they saw him, they fell down before him, crying, saying, thou art the son of God.
Demons, you know what I mean?
Demons and unclean spirits, you know what I mean?
They went right up to him, charged him, that means went right up to him, and fell down before him and said, yeah.
I cried to them.
Because they're dealing with these demons and unclean spirits.
They're deathly afraid of Jesus.
Because they know Jesus could cast them into hell.
So once again, if you don't know what a demon is, a demon, the fallen angel's children were called the Nephilim.
They were men of renown or giants.
So when they perished through the flood and after the flood, their souls were doomed to roam the earth forever, basically until judgment.
Not forever, but until Judgment.
So that was their curse.
That wasn't from God.
That was their punishment.
These Nephilim and whatnot, they had massive sexual lusts and desires.
Hunger, thirst, and all that.
So them being in the Spirit, they still have these same desires and needs.
But they can't quench them.
And that's their punishment.
And they're here until Judgment Day.
And now, you know, because when the demons see him, they're afraid that Jesus was going to send them to hell.
That's what this means, you know what I mean?
So, of course, they drop to their knees and whatever, cry to him saying, go out to the Son of God.
And he straightly charged them that they should not make him known.
He said, be quiet, don't make me known, you know?
And he goes up into the mountain and called unto him whom he would, and they came unto him.
So when Jesus went up to this mountain, he was calling on people, basically by name, right?
And he ordained twelve, and they should be with him, and that he might send forth to preach.
So these are the apostles, the twelve disciples.
So he's calling them up, I guess one name at a time, whatever the case.
I don't know if it's one name or just all of them together.
To deem them, ordain them, I'm sorry, his apostles.
And he had power to heal sickness and to cast out devils.
To have power.
So basically, he needed help to do this.
Because like, if you missed the Book of Matthew series, once again, Jesus, because all the multitudes, countless numbers of people, right?
Even, you know, Jesus in the flesh was like a lot of people.
I mean, he was there for days healing people, you know?
He needed help.
So he ordained the twelve disciples and gave them the power, temporary, right?
To forgive sin, to heal people, to preach and cast out demons.
As we see here, the devils and demons, you know what I mean?
And to have power to heal sickness, so he told the apostles, you have power to preach, power to heal and all that stuff, power to forgive sin, power to cast out demons.
And Simon surnamed Peter, and James the son of Zebedee, and John the brother of James, and he surnamed them Barnabas, which is the sons of Dunder.
In Andrew, and Philip, and Bartholomew, and Matthew, and Thomas, and James, the son of Alphaeus, and Thaddeus, and Simon the Canaanite.
And I might be butchering a lot of these names here, but... So in Judas Iscariot, which also betrayed him later, and they went into a house.
And the multitude came together again, so that they could not so much as eat bread.
So they went into a house to eat, obviously, the apostles, you know, Jesus, right?
And the multitude of people came to them.
That they weren't able to eat, you know?
So, and when his friends heard of it, they went outside to lay hold of him, for they said, he is beside himself.
And the scribes which came down from Jerusalem said, he has Beelzebub, which is Satan.
The angelic name for Satan.
And by the prince of the devils cast he out the devils.
So, you got the scribes accusing Jesus of being the devil.
Which is an oxymoron, you know what I mean?
It's completely oxymoronic, you know?
And he called them into him, and he said to them in parables, How can Satan cast out Satan?
If I'm Satan, how am I casting out demons?
Why would I cast these demons out?
Makes no sense.
And if a kingdom be divided against itself, that kingdom can't stand.
And if a house be divided against itself, the house can't stand.
Like a family, you know what I mean?
There's many examples of that, you know what I mean?
Family divided, the whole house falls down, you know what I mean?
And if Satan rise up against himself and he's divided, he cannot stand by half and the end.
Again, the Pharisees accused Jesus of being the devil.
And Jesus still goes on to say, no man can enter a strong man's house and spoil his goods.
Except he will first bind the strongman and then spoil his house.
So in other words, a strongman is like somebody who can protect the house, okay?
So just say you're armed and all that.
So nobody can enter your house and steal or destroy your goods.
Before they do that, they would have to bind you.
You know what I mean?
Tie you up, whatever the case.
You know what I mean?
And he goes, Verily I say unto you, All sins shall be forgiven unto the sons of men, and blasphemies wherewith whatsoever they shall blaspheme.
Right?
He's telling them all sins can be forgiven, except one sin.
Right?
Which we find out here.
What's that one sin?
But he that shall blaspheme against the Holy Ghost has never forgiven us, but is in danger of eternal damnation.
And why would he say that in this context?
Because you gotta understand there's a sect of Judaism, guys, that they blaspheme the Holy Spirit.
They call the Holy Spirit feminine or androgynous.
They believe it's feminine.
And some nickname of Sophie is disgusting.
It's blasphemy.
The Kabbalistic version of Judaism, that's what they believe.
And it's total blasphemy.
You know what I mean?
That's why Jesus is pointing this out.
To the Jews, too.
You know what I mean?
And it goes on to say, because they said, He has an unclean spirit.
Actually, before I get to that, guys, there's actually two unforgivable sins.
At this point, there's only one right now.
You know, in this text and time, right?
So, in modern days, there's two unforgivable sins.
Yes, you could.
And the Book of Matthew explains you can curse the Father.
I wouldn't recommend to do that, but you can curse Him.
You can be forgiven for that.
You can curse Jesus.
You can be forgiven for that.
You could break the Ten Commandments, right?
Which is not a condone-a-do, no, but you still could be forgiven for that if you repent, right?
Of any of these things, but you cannot be forgiven if you blaspheme the Holy Ghost.
Plain and simple.
And it's one other than these modern day times, if you take the mark of the beast, there's no going back.
Blasphemy against the Holy Spirit, you cannot be forgiven for.
And also the taking the mark of the beast in these days, but in this context in time at the time was just the Holy Ghost, you know So because they said he has an unclean spirit They accuse Jesus of having an unclean spirit like being possessed or the devil himself and there came Then his brethren and his mother in standing with him sent unto him calling him So Mary's mother and his brethren brothers and all that came to him and Because Jesus is talking now.
He's talking to people and also talking to the scribes and pharisees and everything else, right?
Talking to a multitude of people.
So, his family came to call upon him, right?
So, and the multitude sat about him, and they said to him, Behold, your mother and your brethren wilt thou seek for thee.
So, as Jesus is talking, somebody said, Hey, listen, your mother and your brothers are here.
And now this is a pointless way to explain this, right?
And Jesus answered them, saying, Who is my mother?
Well, my brethren, he's not denying Mary.
It doesn't mean he's denying Mary as his mother.
It doesn't mean he's denying his brothers.
So he's making a message, okay?
To say, they're not more important than you.
Because, you know, he's doing the crowd preaching and all that.
And they stopped him, saying, listen, your family's there.
And this is the point of this making here, right?
It's not degrading them, not bashing them at all, whatever they are, denying them.
He's making a point, alright?
Because we know, like, Catholic Church and a lot of these religions out there like to worship Mary, you know, and maybe some of his brothers, but mainly Mary, right?
As, like, she's equal or like a godhood.
She's not.
You know what I mean?
She's a blessed mother, absolutely.
But she's not to be prayed to or worshipped.
You know, that's what this is saying.
So he says this, right, to make an example.
He answered them saying, who is my mother or brother?
Brethren.
And he looked around about in which that sat about him and said, Behold, now he's looking around all the people he's talking to, right?
He says, Behold, my mother and my brethren, looking at them saying that.
Looking at the woman said, my mother, and looking at the men saying, you're my brethren, right?
And he says, for whoever shall do the will of God, the same as my brother and sister and mother.
So you get what this is talking about? - Yeah.
You too could be his brother, his mother, or his sister.
And point out too that, you know, yeah they're my family, but you know what?
I'm the Messiah, not them.
I'm to be worshipped, not them.
I'm to be praised, not them.
I'm to be prayed to, not them.
And point out that they are just like us.
They need forgiveness too.
You know what I mean?
So, there's a lot of lessons to learn in these books.
And, um, and again, if you watch the Matthew series, you'll be like, well, a lot of this is like, uh, it might be redundant, whatever the case, but you gotta understand, right?
Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John is four different testimonies to Jesus Christ.
And some of these guys see things the other ones didn't and they have different Testimonies, whatever but it's all you know, it all matches.
Absolutely.
I'm not saying it's contradicting or anything But some of the you know, like Mark see things that John didn't you know, I mean and so on, you know So this is why it's important to read this and it's from their own perspectives as well So because you gotta understand to just say Matthew, right?
Just say Matthew and Mark were there in a certain place, right?
Witnessing what Jesus is doing Maybe Matthew missed a couple things, and Mark got them, or vice versa.
So that's why it's good, because people say, well, if it's the same information for the four books, why do we read it?
Because number one, it's not the same thing.
Yes, they have the same testimony of Jesus, but they also have different perspectives as well.
Things that the other apostles didn't say, you know what I mean?
And there's also other information in the books that pertain To uh, you know stuff that we need to know that the other ones didn't cover, you know what I mean?
So there are four individual people, you know what I mean?
That's why it's good to read them all and understand because all four of them teach something different.
Aside from the same testimony of Jesus, you know what I mean?
So that's what we need to understand.
So yeah, and this is an awesome book here.
It's a short chapter here.
So what we do is go chapter by chapter.
And so we'll record Matthew chapter 24.
I'm sorry, Mark 4.
I'm so used to saying Matthew because we went through 28 chapters with Matthew.
And some Matthew just spits out of my mouth.
So I'm trying to get used to Mark.
So Mark chapter 3 here.
We're going to get to chapter 4 next.
But for now, I mean, this is the Bible in its context.
And as you can see, this chapter 3 is a continuation from chapter 2.
Also take note, Joe.
I mentioned this in the Matthew series.
Take note, right?
When the scriptures were written, they didn't have chapters and verses.
Mark didn't write, you know, say, alright, I'm going to stop and make this verse 1, verse 2, and I'm going to stop and make this chapter 2 and 3.
No, it's one continuous book.
So later on, the chapters and verses are added in there to make it easier to navigate.
Because imagine if you couldn't do that, you know what I mean?
Something in the middle of the Book of Mark you'd have to skim through to find, right?
Now it's easier to do that because we can say, all right, it's chapter, uh, just say 10, right?
Verse 8.
So I just want to put that forth here since we've got a couple minutes here extra.
I just want to add these little quotes here.
So, yeah.
And Jesus says, whatever does the will of God, The same as my brother and sister and mother.
So saying, you're just like them.
You know what I mean?
They're believers.
You're believers.
They're no better than you.
Or you're no better than them.
We're all equal.
When he says all equal, we get that little chapter that is everybody's equal.
I think it's Galatians.
Everybody's equal.
Either Jew or Greek, rich or poor.
We're all equal in the eyes of Jesus.
We're all created equal?
Yeah, plain and simple.
Because remember, his brothers needed salvation.
His mother needed salvation.
And they got it through Jesus, you know what I mean?
So I just wanted to, like, really highlight this context right here.
Because the point is out.
The reason why this is mentioned here, too, because of what I just said.
Because he wanted to point out that, you know what, anybody could be your brother, his brother and his mother and sister and stuff.
So Jesus had sisters, and I guess in this family here that came to see him, it was his brethren.
So his brethren is brothers and sisters.
Siblings, you know what I mean?
That would be called siblings today.
So they came to visit him, his brothers, sisters, and mother.
That's why he goes on to say, Do the will of God, you could be my brother, or you could be my sister or your mother.
And again, he wasn't disrespecting this family.
Or belittling them.
He's just simply pointing out, look, yeah, they're my family, but you know what?
They are no, they're not, um, where I hold to say this.
They're not one step above you in the kingdom of God.
They're perfectly equal as you would be, you know what I mean?
So, that being said guys, you know, really meditate on this chapter here.
Now I'm not talking New Age style, you know what I mean?
Meditate means study this, you know what I mean?
Like really, really study this because it's very important to do that.
And like we said, you know, read the scripture in its context.
