We are now on to chapter 17.
This is a very exciting chapter here.
A lot of spiritual warfare going on here.
So it's going to be amazing stuff really.
So before we begin, we like to take a different Bible study approach than most people do.
In fact, I don't think any churches do this, but what we do here is we pray for wisdom and understanding.
And we read the Scripture in its context, and the context is key, and let the Scripture interpret the Scripture.
So let the Bible interpret itself, and let the Holy Spirit work through you.
Plain and simple.
So, first we start off with a prayer.
Prayer to our Lord and Savior, Yeshua Messiah, Jesus, please forgive us of any sins and trespasses and transgressions that we committed today.
and make us pure before the father and father we come to you before your throne to ask you to bring the holy spirit to our hearts and our minds and our bodies to help us disseminate and understand your word that you want us to learn today so in your name heavenly father amen so that's what we do guys and also again uh re-description of this context we don't take single verses and you know go with that we read the verses in the context so if you're looking for

And that's it.
You got the wrong place.
What we do is we read through the Bible.
We examine every little word in the scripture.
So that's why we're doing chapter by chapter.
So... So trust the planning on your plan and that is the Bible guys.
And never take anybody else's word for it.
Read it for yourselves.
So let's get on with the chapter here.
We are now on to chapter 17.
And where we left off last time.
We left off with chapter 16.
And this is just Jesus being tested by the Pharisees and all that.
They're trying to nitpick him to try to get him to do or say something wrong.
Plain and simple.
So, we move on to chapter 17 here.
And this is an awesome chapter.
It really is.
And so, it starts off after six days, Jesus takes Peter, James, and John, his brother, and brings them up to a high mountain, a park.
So, a park, a high mountain, a park means away from people.
You know, just up in this high mountain.
Just get away from things for a little bit.
Cause they got multitudes of people.
You know, just swarming them as we learn.
Last few chapters, they're just swarming him and asking for healing and everything else.
So, this is Jesus taking the apostles up to high mountain.
You know, just to talk to them and everything else.
So, anyway.
So, and was transfigured before them.
So, Jesus transfigured, in other words, went into the spirit.
And his face did shine as the sun, and the raiment was white as light.
So, this is our Lord and Savior, right?
In the flesh, right?
This is before he was crucified.
So they go up to this high mountain and he transfigured, which means that you go from the physical body into a spiritual being.
And his face shined like the sun.
That's how bright his glory is.
And his raiment was white as light.
So, imagine that, you know, because obviously in flesh he's got, you know, dirty clothes on.
You're going through the, you know, the desert, whatever the case, and just become this being of light.
It's just amazing.
Just even think about that.
Just even to get the magnitude of what we're seeing here.
Hey, could you only imagine being one of the apostles at that point?
Yeah, you're seeing Jesus transfigured into this being of light, and his face is shining like the sun.
So, and behold, there appeared unto them Moses and Elijah talking with him.
So, after Jesus transfigured, okay, Moses and Elias appeared to them in the spirit.
Now, like we talked about a lot, because we know it was Enoch and Elijah, the only two ones that the Bible talks about that were caught up, in other words, like rapture. like rapture.
So you can look that up in the studies and all that.
So, well, the point is here, so which I always believed that Moses did as well.
Moses and Elijah, I think all the prophets, all the key prophets were taken to heaven instead of going to Abraham's bosom where everybody else goes.
So, because right here you got Moses and Elijah, Elias I'm sorry, appearing to talk with Jesus on the side mountain.
So then he answered Peter and said unto Jesus, Lord, it is good for us to be here.
If thou will, let us make three altars here, three tabernacles, I'm sorry.
One for thee and one for Moses, one for Elias.
And because, imagine again, being Peter or one of these apostles, witnessing this thing.
Moses, who's been dead for thousands of years.
Elias has been dead for eons, right?
Appear before them, and Jesus transfigured into this amazing being of light, right?
So them three are talking with each other.
And imagine being the apostles.
You'd be either afraid or just full of joy, you know?
So they asked Jesus, do you want us to build?
You know, it is good for us to be here.
It is good, you know, that he's asking, is it good for us to be here?
Should we build tabernacles for you guys?
And while he spake, behold, a bright cloud overshadowed them.
And behold, a voice out of the cloud which said, This is my beloved son, in whom I am well pleased with you.
This is the voice of God, guys.
The voice of our Heavenly Father.
And, you know, people say, why would he appear as a bright cloud instead of just appearing himself?
Because you've got to understand, the majesty, the glory of the Heavenly Father No human mortal could withstand his magnitude, plain and simple.
That's why Moses aged quite a significant bit after he'd seen the face of God, you know what I mean?
So, he appeared, and this bright cloud overshadowed them, the apostles.
Because again, Peter's asking, should we build, should we build some altars here?
And so, this bright cloud appeared over them.
And behold, a voice out of heaven shouted and said, This is my beloved son, whom I will please.
Hear ye Him.
And when the disciples heard it, they fell on their face and were so afraid.
So Jesus came and touched them and said, Arise and be not afraid.
Don't be afraid, this is the Father.
And now granted, if you're in a high mountainous, you know, this voice, this thunderous voice comes onto you, I think every one of us is going to fall on our face, you know what I mean?
Plain and simple.
And worship Him, you know?
And a lot of people are going to be afraid.
But I couldn't even imagine if you visual assistant in your head, right?
Being there, put your mind in the mind, you know, as you're one of the apostles right now.
To be witnessing this, um, spiritual... application that's going on, if you will, you know what I mean?
Uh, what is going on here?
And Jesus touched him and said, hey guys, don't be afraid!
You know, this is the heavenly father.
So, could you imagine, check that out, right?
Not only did Jesus transfer you to the Spirit, right?
You got Moses and Elias there, right?
Moses and Elias are both there in the Spirit, right?
Now a Heavenly Creator.
You got to some top spiritual beings right in front of you.
And I know, myself, I wouldn't be worthy enough to see these guys, you know what I mean?
And I don't feel I am, because I'm just a mortal man, you know what I mean?
But this is amazing, and I would love to have been able to witness something like that.
That's just un... Like, it's surreal, really.
It would be really surreal, you know?
So, again, Jesus touched them and said, Arise, and don't be afraid.
And when they had lifted their eyes, up their eyes, yeah?
They saw no man, save Jesus only.
So, basically they seen all these beings and when they lifted their eyes, I guess the beings disappeared.
You know, Moses, Elias, and God.
So, he's saying after my crucifixion.
the mountain and Jesus charged them saying, tell the vision to no man until the son of man be risen again from the dead.
So he's saying after my crucifixion, when I arise from the dead, then to go tell what you're seeing.
I couldn't even imagine.
You're probably still shocked.
Can't even say that right.
So shocked, okay?
To be coming down from that mountain just oared.
Like, wow, what did I just see?
You know, I don't know if people can understand the magnitude here.
You know, of what these guys just seen.
I would love to see something like that.
For the Lord to speak to me with a thunderous voice and all that.
So...
Verse 10 here says, And his apostles asked him, saying, Why, then say the scribes to Elias, for it must come first?
And Jesus answered them, and said unto them, Elias truly shall first come and restore all things.
But I say unto you, that Elias is come already, and they knew him not, but have done unto him whatsoever they listed.
Likewise shall also the Son of Man suffer of them.
So, these are very important words to understand, you know what I mean?
He said, yeah, Elias has already come.
And they didn't know him.
And they did whatever they listed, right?
Whatever they wanted.
And likewise, so shall be when a son of man suffers of them.
Like, he's going to be crucified and all that, and it's going to be the same way, you know?
So anyway, then the disciples understood that he spoke unto them of John the Baptist.
And when they were come into the multitude, there came to him a certain man kneeling down to him and saying, Lord have mercy on my son, for he is a lunatic and sore vexed, for oft times he falls into the fire and oft into the water.
And I brought him to the disciples and they could not cure him.
So the disciples were like, alright, this guy's a lunatic, crazy, right?
Sore vexed and all this other stuff going on, right?
And the disciples, now remember, the disciples had the ability to heal people.
But the disciples at this point couldn't cure him.
Then now they're stumped.
It's like, hold on, why can't we do this?
It says, Then Jesus answered and said, O faithless and perverse generation, how long shall I be with you?
How long shall I suffer you?
Bring him here to me.
Talking to his apostles, like, basically, you, the little faith.
Now this is the apostles.
After all this stuff, they didn't have the faith enough to do this.
So you tell them again, oh faithless and perverse generation, how long shall I suffer you?
Just be with you, you know what I mean?
How long shall I suffer you?
In other words, how much stuff do I gotta do to show and give you your faith, you know what I mean?
So anyway, Jesus rebuked the devil and departed out of him, and a child was cured from that very hour.
So he's like, alright, if you guys can't do it, alright, bring him over to me, I'll do it.
You know, departed the devil, Because again, this guy was sore or vexed, which was possessed.
So then came the disciples to Jesus, the Pope, and said, why couldn't we not cast him out?
And Jesus said to them, and they talked about the demon, how come we couldn't do that?
I thought we had the ability to cast out demons.
Why couldn't we do that?
And Jesus said to them, Because of your unbelief, for verily I say unto you, if you have faith as a grain of mustard seed, ye shall say unto this mountain, remove hence yonder place, and it shall be removed, and nothing shall be impossible to you.
So that's powerful, because he said you could have done this, but because of your lack of faith, your lack of belief, that's why you couldn't do this.
And mind you, here's the thing too.
Alright, here's the thing.
It really stumbles me here, right?
After all the stuff that the apostles witnessed, right?
Being in a boat and Jesus is there helping them with the storms, calm the storms down.
Walking on water, healing people, cast out demon after demon after demon.
And so did they, you know what I mean?
Cast out many demons, healed sick, raised people from the dead.
And this alone, okay, this should have been a nail in the coffin in a good way.
To have faith is a hundred must-sees, a billion must-sees, right?
When you see the animal, you see Jesus transfiguring to despair, right?
Elias, Moses, and the Heavenly Father all talking, you know what I mean?
Like, wow!
That should have been enough, but, you know, they came to a devil and they couldn't do it because of lack of belief.
Again, Jesus said that because your unbelief...
Invariably, I'm saying to you, if you have faith that it's a grain of mustard seed, and you want to see what a mustard seed looks like?
Mustard seed.
I'll show you what a mustard seed looks like.
See how small that mustard seed is in the jar there?
And it's smaller than that over there.
So yeah, this is how small a mustard seed is.
Very tiny.
See it right in that guy's fingers there?
Faith of a mustard seed.
If you had this much faith, you could move mountains.
Put that into magnitude compared to your body, you know what I mean?
If you had that much faith, and all the stuff he's been, you know, they've been through and they still have lack of faith, It's unbelievable it really is but anyway it shows you that you know the apostles weren't perfect either you know because we know like the catholic church and other religions like to worship these guys as if they're some kind of um supernatural beings they're not you know what I mean so and you know they're great people because they're you know as apostles and all that but they're not perfect they weren't perfect like you know I mean like Jesus was
So after he tells him, because of your lack of belief, he says to you, if you have faith of a mustard seed, you shall be able to remove a mountain.
Remove hence your yonder place, and it shall be removed, and nothing shall be impossible to you.
Nothing.
So how about this kind goeth not out of by prayer and fasting?
And while he obeyed at Galilee, Jesus said unto them, The Son of Man shall be betrayed into the hands of men.
So this is coming up close to his crucifixion.
He said, somebody here is going to betray me.
Man, we know who that is.
You know what I mean?
So, and they shall kill him, and the third day he shall be raised again, and they were exceedingly sorry.
So it's just saying, Jesus is saying, somebody's going to betray me, I'm going to be caught to captivity.
Yeah, I'm going to be killed, and I will be raised on the third day.
And when they were come to Capernaum, that they received tribute money, he came to Peter and said, Do not your masters pay tribute?
And he said, Yes.
But when he was coming to the house, Jesus prevented him, saying, What thinkest thou, Simon?
Of whom do the kings of the earth take custom or tribute, or their own children or strangers?
And Peter said unto them, Of strangers, said unto him, Then are the children free?
So we're talking about tribute money and all that stuff and uh... So notwithstanding, lest we should offend them, go to the sea and cast a hook and take up the fish that first comes up.
And when you cast... I'm sorry, when you cast open his mouth, thou shalt find a piece of money.
Take that and give it unto them for me indeed.
So he's like, you know, hey, go catch your hook out or your net, whatever the case.
Thank you.
The hook, I'm sorry.
Yeah.
And, uh, the first fish that comes up and catch right in his money is going to be, uh, his mouth.
I'm sorry.
It's going to be money.
Take that and go give it to them for me and you.
Talk about the tribute.
tribute here.
So it's pretty amazing.
And you know what I mean?
Like there's so much context in the scripture here.

It's just like sometimes like you miss stuff whatever the case and again nobody's perfect but I try my best to pull out you know what the Holy Spirit reveals to me at the time you know so if we read it again it talks about and when they came to Capernaum and that received tribute money to Peter and said do not your masters pay tribute And he said, yes, and when they come into the house, Jesus prevented him saying that, What thinkest thou, Simon?
What are you thinking?
Of whom do the kings of the earth take custom or tribute?
Of their own children or strangers?
And Peter said to him, Of strangers?
Jesus said unto him, They are not of the children free.
So notwithstanding, lest we should offend them, go to the sea and cast your hook, and take up the first fish that comes out.
And when you has opened his mouth, you shall find a piece of money.
Take that and give it on to them for me and you.
So I guess there's some tribute to be paid.
And um, that's how they get the money for it.
So there's more than I just, it's not just coming to me today for that, for this, for some reason.
And um, it's by Holy Spirit.
He picks when to reveal certain information.

Because I'm learning as we go here, too.
You know what I mean?
I try to read these, which I do.
I pre-read these ahead of time, so I can try to get a good understanding ahead of time.
But there's always more to this, and there's a ton more to this.
You know what I mean?
And that's what's great about we have to constantly study Scripture, because when you think you know everything about a certain thing, yeah, there's tons more stuff to go.
It's a lesson learned for all of us.
You know what I mean?
So, yeah, guys, again, don't take anybody else's word for it.
You need to study this for yourself.
Put it simple.

So depends how big the chapter is, but I think um Yeah another review of this would be pretty cool but this is um this was the coolest thing though I think and let me know in the comments too if you think this is you know imagine just watching this right?
You're walking with Jesus all of a sudden he transfigures into a spiritual being right?
Faces shining like the sun and his clothes the raiment that's that's what his clothes right was white as light Imagine just that alone, that alone right there would give me goosebumps.
It gives me goosebumps even thinking about it, right?
Imagine witnessing that.
Then, then Moses and Elias appear in the Spirit to talk to Jesus.
You know what I mean?
Then after that, right, you got, behold a bright cloud overshadowed them, the apostles.
And he said in this loud voice, which is the Heavenly Father, saying, This is my Son, my Beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased.
Hear Him.
That is like, just amazing, really.
It's just like, you just contemplate on that for a minute, yeah?
Since we got a little time here, just really contemplate on that for a minute.
Cause this, you know, this is what caught my attention in this chapter, yeah?
Just like, imagine just being able to see this, to be witnessing that.
And yeah, like damn, damn, I would have fell on my face too.
It's like, wow.
You know what I mean?
I think we all be afraid.
Imagine just witnessing that kind of stuff.
Personally, I mean, I'd be so excited.
I really would.
Just to be able to witness the father like that.
Wow.
I had years ago, actually a year and a half ago, I think it was.
The Lord spoke to me in my dream and woke me up out of sound sleep.
Gave me a verse.
I looked it up and it was a lesson to me.
I forgot the verse off hand.
I think it's Revelation chapter 3.
There's one of the verses in there.
I apologize.
I forgot.
But yeah, it woke me right up.
I heard it loud as day.
Woke me right up, you know, right out of a sound sleep as if I just had an adrenaline rush or some coffee or something.
Yeah, that verse was exactly what the message that pertained to me at the time.
So I truly believe that was our Heavenly Father that spoke to me.
But yeah, it was a loud voice, man.
That's why this gives me goosebumps.
I heard a voice.
Imagine witnessing this stuff here.
It blows my mind, it really does, in a good way.
In other words, it's exciting.
And I could actually see this in my head.
I could actually visualize this happen.
Which would be such an amazing, amazing experience.
But the thing is, this is nothing compared to the end of days guys.
When the Lord calls us up.
If we're in a grave or we're here on earth during the tribulation.
And we're caught up with the dead or we're the dead if we're dead at the time we're gonna be caught up and resurrected.
You know what I mean?
Either way, uh, you know what I mean?
The witnesses stuff take place and it's very soon.
I actually believe that.
I'm not putting a time stamp on nothing, but it is very soon.
And we're gonna see a billion times more than that's what they've seen.
Imagine standing before the crater and being like... Imagine being alive to be able to be what they call raptured.
Which we don't... I mean, I don't preach a pre-tribulation rapture.
Because the Bible says after the tribulation, Matthew chapter 24, what you're going to get up to really soon.
So it's just amazing.
