Time Text
- Hi, I'm Dan Bidandi, founder of We Are Change, Blackstone Valley, Rhode Island, Massachusetts, Rhode Island, Massachusetts, and host of Truth Radio on www.truthradio.cc.
And today is February 22, 2011.
We're here at the Rhode Island State House in Providence, Rhode Island, and for the SEIU protest.
Almost forgot it there.
the SEIU protest and I'm gonna see what this is all about.
Hey sir, I got a question for now.
Happy birthday!
What's the rally for, sir?
This whole rally, what's it about?
I think it's, oh, this is about Solidarity.
For the workers in Wisconsin.
I've got a question.
What's the whole thing with the tea party thing?
Why's people bashing them, calling them tea baggers?
It's been all over the internet.
They were just calling people tea baggers over there.
I don't know.
I didn't call nobody nothing.
I'm here in Solidarity.
Welcome to join the club.
What's the thing with the tea party?
I have no idea.
You'd have to ask somebody that said it.
I didn't say that.
Yeah, we tried, but they were giving us rude remarks.
I'm not full of rude remarks.
I'm here in solidarity for my union sisters and brothers.
Thank you.
You're more than welcome.
Hey guys.
Tea party people.
These are the worst bastards on earth.
What's the deal with the tea party thing I hear you keep hearing about?
Like why is the unions against the tea party party?
Why are we against the tea party?
Because they're right wing republicans and they're hiding behind a cute little name.
Tea party.
They're the worst bunch of bozos in history.
Yeah, there you go.
You got it?
Good.
That's why I have problems with the tea party.
I'm not going to get into that right now.
We'll be starting right now.
I'm just giving background and everything else.
I think you can actually see what's going on.
What I would do is hold the questions to the end.
You can certainly ask people at that point.
They can talk to you later.
that right now.
We'll be starting right now, just giving background and everything else.
I think you can actually see what's going on.
Well, I'm a neutral member, so I just want to answer your questions.
What I would do is hold the questions to the end.
You can certainly ask people at that point.
They can talk to you later.
All right, thank you.
People don't understand that.
It's not what's really going on here.
What's going on?
It's the end of money.
It's the end of unions.
There ain't going to be no more unions by the end of 2012.
They're going to bust them off because there isn't enough money.
The money's not going to stand up any further.
So what's the story with the tea party, I guess?
It's been all over the internet.
The tea party got thrown up.
The tea party's a piece of garbage, alright?
Colleen Connell is a diverse agent.
She's working with the Republicans, she smiles up to the Democrats, and she runs a tea party.
She's a two-faced, BS artist.
Incorporated.
She has no business in any freedom movement or any tea party politics.
Are you saying that it's possible to be against the tea parties and against the unions at the same time?
Absolutely.
The tea party in Rhode Island and throughout the United States.
She's an infiltrator.
She has no business in there.
Everything I told her not to do, she did.
Awesome.
Thank you, man.
She is a T-bag.
Hey, you guys want to tell us what the rally is about?
Brief words.
What's this rally for?
It's Solidarity Valley for the workers of Wisconsin.
I've got a question.
What's the tea party got to do with anything?
I know a lot of people are bashing the tea party.
You call them tea baggers?
I'm not a spokesman.
Do you know a certain... Do you see this?
That's the union.
Yeah, that's very professional of a union.
I thought you were press.
I thought you were taking neutral stance.
You already set us on the wrong foot.
I thought you were taking neutral stance.
Are you a partisan or not?
- I thought you were taking a shoot for a stance.
Are you a partisan or not? - We're not tea potty.
- No?
- No, you're tea bag.
- Tea bag?
- So let me get you.
If you always expose your ankle right off the bat, Just like you were at the Langevin event, right?
Just like you Obama's a corporate scum.
He's for the New World Order.
His name is Barry Satoro.
Yep.
Barry Satoro.
That's the President of the United States.
You guys are easy.
You guys are easy.
Obama's name is Barry Satoro.
He's born in Kenya.
He's a scumbag of the New World Order.
My name's Jim.
I'm Dan.
Nice to meet you.
Which?
I'm Truth Radio.
I'm the radio talk show host.
Okay.
On WALE?
Yep.
Okay.
I'm Dan, nice to meet you.
I'm Truth Radio, I'm Radio Talk Shows.
Okay, on W-A-L-E?
Yep.
Wonderful.
I'm also a member of We Are Change.
What's your name again?
Who's that for?
It's just a media sign-in sheet.
Channel 6 is running B-Feed.
Nah, that's it.
We're excited.
It's the First Amendment.
Thank you anyway.
- You anyway.
- I know.
- Yeah.
- Yeah.
- We have the last one right here.
- Yeah. - I think you have five minutes.
- Yeah. - Yeah.
They're right there.
They suck and you suck.
Hey, what's the deal with the tea party?
They're right there.
They suck and they suck.
Why are you opposing the tea party?
Why are you opposing the tea party?
I oppose you.
Don Bedandi.
Bedandi!
You still live with your mother?
I probably.
Your mother and father probably do.
What's the thing with the tea party?
It's been all over the internet.
I just want to know.
They don't know what they're doing.
They just want to hate.
They just want to hate, hate, hate, hate.
My question is... A lot of people are very missing out on feedback.
My question is, get that fucking out of my house, alright?
Excuse me?
I said, out of my house.
My First Amendment... My First Amendment is letting a TKO side-stick and stuff your ass, how's that?
Yeah, you can try that too.
That's right, I'll try it.
And I'll shoot another one.
Huh?
Because I'm asking the question.
Who the fuck are you?
Who are you?
I'm not talking to you!
Get the fuck out of my face!
I'm not talking to you, you're just a scrooge!
Why are these guys bashing the tea party for?
I just want to know the question, why are you bashing the tea party?
Because I don't like it.
Alright, how's that?
None of your fucking business, how's that?
Well, that's a good attitude for a union worker.
Who said I'm in the fucking union?
What are you doing here?
None of your fucking business.
I'm here because I hate you.
How's that?
Oh, that's good.
Good attitude, too.
What's up, man?
How you doing?
I'm Sam.
Why are these guys targeting the tea party anyway?
What?
Why are these guys targeting the tea party for?
Why are you targeting the tea party for?
Oh, we don't like them.
Why don't you like them?
They drink tea.
That's because they don't love old Barry Sotaro or Obama.
What's the tea party have to do with anything?
That's what we want to know.
Hey, we're good.
Way to go.
No, we want to know what the tea party has to do with anything.
Why are these guys trashing the tea party for?
You guys think we don't actually pay attention to your website?
Most of the tea party are really good people.
You can't just hate the paper, ice, white, and stinking.
Well, there's good and bad on all sides.
We're on the same team.
We didn't show up screaming about union.
We were here two minutes before you started tea bagging.
We don't like any particular party.
At least we like the same team.
You think that people don't pay attention to your videos?
What are you saying?
You think that people don't pay attention to your website and your videos?
Are you intending to, like, hurt me or start a conversation?
No!
It's your videos and your point of view.
What about it?
You've seen it.
You monitor it.
You're very anti-American.
Who's we?
Anti-American?
We stand up for the Constitution.
What are you talking about?
You disagree?
Just because we hate Obama?
He's a New World Order scum?
We hate Americans.
Obama's a New World Order scum?
These guys don't.
So isn't Bill Clinton a big supporter of you guys?
We're communist.
That's why we have a constitution?
Union busting's got to go!
Union busting's got to go!
You're like the devil, man.
What?
Union Busting's got to go!
Hey, hey!
Ho, ho, ho!
Union Busting's got to go!
Ho, ho!
Union Busting's got to go!
Looks like I'm intimidating.
Woo!
Woo!
What about the people going hungry?
Nobody talks about that, right?
We are here.
Scott Walker of Wisconsin is threatening 6,000 playoffs in furloughs without negotiating.
He's demanding you get the phone and the roof to stay locked in advance.
He's demanding you get the phone handle to stay locked in the house.
And he states that payment cases will only happen if the consumer price ever says so.
We do not live in a dictated issue.
This government-- Obama's going to bring us to a dictatorship.
I don't think so.
Barry Satoro, the scum of the New World Order.
Obama's a scum of the new world order.
Obama's a scum.
Barack Hussein, Barry Satoro's a scum of the new world order.
Who do you like, Sarah Palin?
No, I hate both.
I'm not a Republican or a Democrat.
Who do you like?
I'm independent.
Yeah, who do you like then?
Ron Paul.
Ron Paul.
He's a smart guy.
We lack the morale of the Republican side.
We are here in solidarity to tell them we will not go down without a fight.
Bring Donald Trump!
You made a mistake!
Evidence shows that a human being is in a deep, deep swamp.
Don't push me, buddy.
You push me, I'm gonna push you right back.
Trust me.
Solidarity!
Solid That's why they don't take the union's shares for them.
I thought he was going to come right there too.
How's that?
Don't touch this camera.
I'll have you arrested for assault.
Go ahead, have me arrested.
Facts over.
They're being a jerk to me.
This is me.
- It's about to be a part of the fight, man.
- It's about to be a part of the fight.
- That being the director to leave, this is me.
- Yeah, open a car door, right?
- It's about to be a part of the fight.
- It's your public safety, your educate, your life.
- You don't remember that, do you stupid.
- Remember?
- You got it.
You are like a fuckin' child.
If people disagree, throw it in my personal space.
- What's the fucking deal?
- What are you doing?
- It's like a fucking child.
- Yeah, it is.
- You are like a fucking child.
- Why is this?
- It's too good to see you.
- Where are you in my crystal space?
- Oh, whoa, whoa, relax.
Relax.
Yeah, all we're doing is filming.
We don't need people asking.
I'm not saying a goddamn thing.
I'm just sitting here.
Just relax.
I'm giving my hot time.
This guy's calling people names.
Who's giving you a hot time?
Relax.
What's freaking happening to you here?
It's over.
Relax, man.
You don't even know where I'm from.
I know where you're from.
Yeah, you already called me a teabagger.
I get you think that's where I'm from.
Oh, that's right.
You've got a problem.
I've got a problem now.
Look at the way you people are behaving.
This is sick.
Yeah, we're not even teabags.
Yeah, we're not even team partners.
We're neutral people.
Look at the hook.
I can't f***ing crawl over there.
I might be able to crawl.
Yeah, I know.
You might have security on the way out of here if you can't crawl.
Really?
Yeah.
Is that a promise?
Yeah.
Alright, you want to do something?
I know you want to do something.
What are you talking about?
- He's not the guy in the red, he's got a sword, now you're calling a girl, now you're calling a girl. - Now you're saying he's a girl.
He's got monstrous behavior.
- What are you talking about?
This guy's fucking off my camera.
- Nobody's shoving nothing. - I don't have the right to stay in here and film.
- Get her you fucking douchebag, all right?
Fuck you, my mother.
Like, fuck my mother.
How's that?
How's that?
How's that? - I'll fuck you in the ass, you faggot.
- Yeah, I bet you will.
- You will.
- Look at you.
You better get away from him.
I better get away from him.
Get your camera out of my face.
What the fuck is that?
Get your camera out of my fucking face!
Don't touch the camera!
Fuck you too!
That's assault.
That's assault.
You're passing the wrong tree, bud.
I don't care.
I don't give a shit.
Don't touch people, man.
Don't do it, brother.
Don't do it.
Don't do it.
Get him arrested for assault.
This man right here.
Tea party and soccer.
You guys are ruining America.
We're not tea party.
You guys are ruining America.
The whole country's going to believe they're working, man.
They said they were going to follow me outside.
That's assault!
That's assault!
That is assault, man!
You don't think I'm not afraid of you?
New Year busking is disgusting!
New Year!
Union!
Union!
Union! Union! Union! Union! Union! Union! Union! Union! Union! Union! Union! Union! Union!
You better kill!
He's trying to hold him.
He touched my friend.
Okay, okay.
I'm coming.
That guy insulted our camera.
He did.
He insulted our camera.
We gotta have film, sir.
We gotta have film.
He insulted us.
Go.
Go down.
Sir, could you take him?
He insulted us.
Excuse me.
Well, it's very professional for a damn union.
Eric?
Yeah, you remember Eric, do you?
They call you a teabagger?
- - Well, it's very professional for a damn union.
- - - Eric?
- Yeah, you remember Eric? - - They call you a teabagger.
I'm just adjourning down there.
- Yeah, a peaceful union, my ass.
There's nothing peaceful about it up there.
It's right there, led by a dog, Barack Obama!
What happened?
We're trying to film, right?
We've got a long tape.
I know I'm being pushed.
Then a sign goes in front of the camera, and we're playing this little sign-slash-camera war.
I haven't said a thing.
I haven't shouted a thing.
I've got a... Yeah, we both have a tape, I guess.
And we've got a third camera up there, so... But the guys start saying... We didn't do nothing.
One of the guys was pushing it to me.
That guy smashed his camera.
He started saying, you better watch it.
We better walk you out of here.
All we're trying to do is film the thing.
We're not a teapot.
I'm afraid to walk out of here right now.
I've got a group of thugs up there.
We've identified.
Yeah, we don't belong to the teapotty or the union.
We come here as an independence to film what's going on.
And they automatically assume us we're teabaggers because we're not with the union.
Come with me.
We're trying to do it.
I'm in here.
The difference is we have a teapot.
We've got three of them.
We've got three of them.
Go talk to them, buddy.
You're bucking up the wrong tree.
Yeah, it looks like we're bucking up the wrong tree, too.
Stop.
Knock it off.
You're bucking up the wrong tree.
Isn't that amazing?
Yeah.
We're here to make a TV show, all of a sudden we're teabaggers.
We're getting smacked.
What do you think, Dan?
We're in the police department.
We are in the police office at the State House.
The Capitol Police Building.
We were the ones assaulted, but we're the ones in the Capitol Police Office here.
We were just shoved around, shouted down by some union members.
We let them know to back off and they kind of smacked us.
My camera was Pretty well whacked here.
Microphone came off.
Kinda shaky.
Hey, I got a mark right there.
Do I?
Oh, this guy.
I thought he was busting the camera, man.
Me and Randy got that on camera.
He swiped his hand downward like that right across my face and whacked the whole camera at the same time.
It's like you got three video cameras.
Four now.
No.
Well, I thought we had three.
It looks like we had four.
Four.
Randy's got the whole thing from the back.
Thank you.
We will not go down without a fight.
Unions are here to stay.
Evidence shows that its union members have decreased so too has the economy.
Without the middle class, there is no America.
Why are we here today?
Solidarity!
Solidarity! Solidarity! Solidarity! Solidarity! Solidarity! Solidarity!
You know there are some who say, or rather than opposed, that say that unions are the way We say unions make America!
That's right!
We'll be here today, we'll be here tomorrow, we're going to be up in New York tomorrow.
We're here in solidarity.
Thank you all so much.
Thank you all for being here today.
As the president of the Rhode Island, I'm proud to stand shoulder to shoulder with you on the U.S. here on the street.
I didn't touch nothing.
The terrible things that Governor Scott Walker was doing.
I'm going to get away from this.
You better get away from this.
I better get a camera out of my face.
What the fuck you saying?
Get a camera out of my fucking face!
That's assaulting.
Fuck you too!
That's assaulting.
You saw the wrong tree, buddy.
That's assaulting.
I just got here to smack my camera and assault me.
That's assault.
They said they were going to follow me outside.
They said they were going to follow me outside.
Did you see what happened?
That's right.
The United States is a war.
This is the public house.
You can't do that.
This is public access TV.
Now he's got the impression of a client.
All right.
This guy here is stalking it.
It's on camera.
You need to see the film.
This is a public house.
- This is a public house, thank you sir.
Thank you, this is a public house.
This is a public house.
I understand that.
I understand that.
Everybody calm down.
Thank you.
This is a public house.
That guy just assaulted the man with the camera.
This is a peaceful demonstration.
We're not here to lead.
We're not here to get in arguments with anyone.
By the way, just build the thing.
We're fine.
We're fine.
Hey, brother.
I'll tell you, brother.
I'm sure there are more than enough Union cards out here that we can present to these people.
See if they want to join, alright?
We're like hundreds of guys.
It was in World War I. You are more likely to die in a coal mine than you were on the front lines.
That's what one guy was quoting.
I don't know how accurate that is, but it was an interesting point of view.
And this whole idea that...
You know, that worker safety in a coal mine, or explosions in a coal mine, is the same thing as working conditions as a cook's helper at the statehouse, or at a local hospital.
You gotta be kidding me.
That the DMV worker has any idea about working conditions.
It's a joke.
To compare the two is a silly, silly joke.
But anyway, so yesterday, we got a phone call from one of our regular listeners and one of the guys over at Anchorizing, yeah, at wethepeopleofri.org.
Great, great website.
Great service these guys offer to the community.
We the people that go around to different places and...
And videotape people speaking their mind, basically the First Amendment exercise.
And they put it up on the internet, they put it up on YouTube, and they air it on our public access show.
And they also go around and they cover events, things like this.
They go and they tape them.
When President Obama came to town, you guys were there, they were videotaping what went on there.
Um, you know, it's basically just videotape commentary.
Actually, I don't even know if they offer commentary very often on their videotapes.
It's just videotaping to let you make your own decision.
Now, Adam from We The People is on the line.
Adam, you, basically, I know sometimes you guys will offer commentary, but more often than not, you don't, right?
More often than not, we don't, and I'm kind of the black sheep of the group, so to speak.
I'm very opinionated, and very often I'll let my opinions known, both in our videos and at these public events.
The other guys on our team, a lot of the time they're like, Adam, cool it down a little, we're supposed to be neutral, and I get a little up at you sometimes, but we do our best.
So yesterday you were at the Statehouse taping this rally.
And was that one of the times where you started to get a little bit opinionated?
Were you shouting out or saying anything at the rally?
No, actually we discussed it ahead of time and I'm not fully clear on all the ins and outs of the union so I wasn't going to go ahead and shove my foot in my mouth.
So yesterday was a neutral day.
I pretty much just showed up, kept my mouth closed as much as I could and just filmed the event so we could catch anything that the mainstream media did not catch.
Did your specific ruckus happen after Larry Pirtle from the NEA spoke?
That is correct.
That's when you happen.
Okay, so I have the audio of that actual part of it.
Do you want to hold on and hear this?
It's about two and a half minutes of it?
Sure.
Alright, this is not the part that I have of the guy admitting to it, but you'll hear the audio representation of what it sounded like when this whole ruckus of that, and Adam will tell you, tell us what happened and narrate this afterwards, but this is what it sounded like.
And there's actually an interesting part of the audio where somebody in the crowd says, I got a hundred witnesses that said he didn't do anything.
Talking about the guy, one of the guys who were involved in the altercation.
Listen to this.
It's going to be a lot of noise and a lot of people yelling, but you can kind of get the feel of it by listening to what happened right after.
You'll hear, I think, the end part of Larry Pertle from the NEA in his speech.
Listen to this.
We need to have a private sector union leader up here.
Actually, you know what, Mav?
I gave you the wrong one.
My apologies.
That's my bad.
I gave you the wrong... Give me the ruckus one.
The union protest one, Mav.
You know the one at the bottom there?
I don't know which one I'm talking about.
The altercation one.
I'm sorry, I apologize.
We are not going to let anyone take away the last 50 years of collective bargaining.
Stay strong!
If you listen to it, this is where the ruckus happened between Adam and the people there, the union members.
Go brothers, go!
The O brothers, O. They're all new people saying O's.
Knock it off.
Right wing loonies. Right wing loonies. Right
wing loonies. Right
wing loonies. Right wing loonies. Right wing loonies. Right wing loonies. Right wing loonies.
Get him out of here.
Get him out of here.
Hello!
Hello everyone!
Hello!
We're excited as fuck, man.
Alright, 100 witnesses that say you didn't do anything!
Hunter Witness said he didn't do anything.
We're going to lie to you because our fellow thug union members decided to go pick on somebody with a camera.
So anyway, Adam, does that sound exactly like what happened?
Is that your incident right there?
Yeah, that is my incident.
So give us the lowdown, according to you, what actually happened there.
You know, while the speech was happening.
Um, I was just filming, keeping my mouth shut.
Just like I said, uh, some of the union members, you know, they use hand signals in the crowd to point out to each other who they want to harass.
And we noticed that they were, they were pointing at me and they were moving some of the union supporters, uh, to kind of enclose a, a human, uh, capsule around me.
And they were kind of pushing on me and I was being touched and kind of fan-handled a little bit at one point.
Um, But, uh, you know, at one point a guy behind me started saying some pretty threatening stuff, so I whipped the camera around to get it on tape, and that's when he says, you know, get your bleeping camera out of my face, and he...
So the guy behind you, when you were saying threatening stuff, was he saying, I'm going to kick your ass, I'm going to do... what was he saying to you?
I was a little more foul than I can say on the air, but something along the lines of he would bend me over, if you know what I mean.
Really?
Yeah.
That's lovely.
And you had that... He took a squat at the camera when I turned the camera on him, and yelled, get that effing camera out of my face.
You know, even though it was several feet away from him, he kind of lunged forward to slap at the camera.
So that's the altercation there.
Well, what ended up happening is I got a little flustered at that point and I started speaking up.
Told them they were already invading my personal space.
I spoke up and I had just been assaulted.
One of the union organizer ladies approached me instantly because she had witnessed what went on.
And when I was speaking up saying, you know, I've just been assaulted, this guy assaulted me, she was worried that I was speaking up about that.
She actually was waving her hands downward and saying, shh, shh, please, you know, try to get me not to talk about it.
But I signaled somebody that I knew to go grab the Capitol Police officers and bring them over.
So when the Capitol Police got to the area where the altercation took place, Um, they actually, uh, they didn't, they didn't doubt what I said at all, and actually the guy was saying, the guy who was talking, he was kind of saying that looking pretty guilty.
So, uh, it's funny how the crowd interpreted and cheered as I was being, uh, not escorted out of the crowd by the Capitol Police, but they, I think they kind of understood my plight, and they were saying, come on, let's go to the office, let's review the video, and you can make a statement against that guy.
But the, uh, the union supporters interpreted that as, The Capitol Police were removing the troublemaker when it was quite the opposite.
So they went on with their cheering.
So you went and obviously reported the thing.
Did they take your tape as evidence?
I provided a CD for them this morning.
Also three or four other gentlemen had recorded this same incident and they joined us in the office and they presented what they saw on the camera.
So it was a clear case of assault as far as the Capitol Police were concerned from several different videotapes.
Um, and uh, you know, I wasn't the only one that was harassed that day.
There's going to be another videotape to surface soon about what they did to another gentleman.
I was going to ask you, when are you going to be able to put, after the rally was over, they did something else, huh?
When are you going to put your videotape up so we can see what, from your point of view, are you going to put that up at some point?
Yeah, at some point I'm going to make a We The People product out of it, and it's going to come out in that form, so I definitely can't rush it.
It takes a little bit of time to edit and create these little videos.
You should throw up the raw, though, from your point of view, so people can't accuse you of editing it to make it look different.
Just throw it up as it happened.
Well, like I said, there were other people who videotaped the same thing, and their videos are already hitting YouTube.
I should actually put those links up on you.
Yeah, put them on the Facebook page, will you please?
So people can see.
I've seen one today, but it's very... it's quick.
It only catches it right at the end of the... it pans over to you as it's happening, so you actually get to see the build-up of it.
Right, mine really isn't much better.
I was trying to concentrate on the podium rather than what was going on around me.
But, you know, when you see my video, it's going to be a little bit shaky, a little bit unclear, but you'll definitely see the one thug approach me and take a shot at the camera, and then the camera's just pointed at the floor for a while.
You know, I have, I don't know if you stayed around, you're probably busy dealing with the Capitol Police, but there was a gentleman from one of the private unions who actually took responsibility for the altercation.
I should say, took responsibility.
He said that some of his members were involved.
Did you hear that?
Can I play that audio for you?
You got a second?
Yeah, please, I haven't heard it yet.
Alright, put Adam on hold for a second, Maverick.
I know we have to take a break, but should we break first, then we'll play when we come back?
Let's do that so we can get it set up.
Ask Adam if he can hold on.
Adam can hold on and we'll do it after the break.
That way people can listen to it and make their own judgment on it.
I don't know if the guy was just saying that because if you listen to it, it kind of says it in a joking way, so I don't know how much evidence it would be.
But it just goes to show you, they talk about intimidation, they talk about tactics, and they are the biggest culprits of it.
The biggest culprits of it.
And, you know, if you want to sit there and talk about getting rights and being treated equally, and a guy's sitting there videotaping a rally in a public place, and you've got a gang up on him with 500 people behind you, you know, what kind of nonsense is that?
Matt Allen.
It's 824 here in the Matt Allen Show on WPRO 99.7 FM.
You know, on our line is Adam Cole.
Adam, who is from the We The People of Our Eye.
I actually do.
Adam, you were just telling the story about, just to recap for everybody, about the altercation that you were involved in at the union rally yesterday.
And you were telling your story about how you were just basically videotaping the place.
And did you know how these guys recognized you by any chance?
I actually do.
From the moment that I stepped foot inside the statehouse, there was an organizer there kind of prepping up and getting ready before it got too crowded.
But I recognized him, he recognized me immediately from the healthcare public forum at Warwick City Hall.
Back when the healthcare public forums were going on, he recognized me.
It was at Langevin's forum at the City Hall, is that what it was?
That's the one.
And I was doing the same thing at that event that I was doing at this one, but you know, I was interviewing some of the Tea Party people and they misinterpreted it as this guy's a Tea Party guy.
So when I showed up yesterday, right away, one of the organizers raised his little plastic megaphone to his lip and said, Right to you?
Really?
Oh yeah, and so he's the guy who pretty much pointed me out to the rest of the union members.
Ah, I see.
It was kind of straight up harassment the whole time.
All right, so just so you know, I can play this for you.
This is a piece of audio from a guy named Scott Doohan, who I guess is from... Actually, he'll be introduced to tell you what union they're from.
And he actually says that some of his members were involved in the actual altercation.
So give a listen to this.
This is from yesterday's rally, I guess, in solidarity with Wisconsin people at the statehouse.
So that's what he said.
union leader up here.
So who better than the, from the International Union of Painters and Allied Trade representing the building trades, but Scott Duhamel.
Good afternoon.
By the way, I apologize for the little incident earlier.
There were building trades people involved.
In our world, we call that part of the working day.
So that's what he said.
It's part of the working day for those guys. - Wow.
Uh, that doesn't surprise me.
So, you know, just so you know, they say if that helps the investigation as to who it might have been, at least you know where he was.
Well, actually, the man was identified yesterday, who actually did the assault itself, and Capitol Police took him aside before they even took me aside, and they took all his information, and unfortunately, that gentleman, um, apology or not, uh, charges are being filed.
Did he actually apologize to you?
No, he did not.
He kept up with his, uh, his lying and name-calling.
And so after they took him aside, he didn't come over and say, I'm sorry for what I did.
He just kept going at what?
He just kept harassing you?
Well, when I walked by and the Capitol Police had him aside getting his version of events, he looked at me, pointed at me, and said it was him.
He hit me with his camera, he said, and he had a few other untruth statements to say, but he was defending himself with mistruth.
I see.
And so you are going to press charges and we'll see how it happens.
Yeah, I visited the Capitol Police this morning, and normally I don't make a big deal out of these things, but I think, uh, you know, in the interest of, you know, what happens if this guy's in a bar some night and somebody else decides, you know, they're gonna...
I don't know if he was with that one.
The guy took credit for it.
That's his statement.
I don't know if he's just being goofy or whatever.
showing the unions that these kind of tactics, they cannot fly.
So I normally wouldn't make an issue out of it, but for those reasons, yeah, charges are going to be filed against that gentleman.
And what union did we say he was with?
Was it Builders and Workers Union?
It was one of the Builders trades unions.
Well, I don't know if he was with that one.
That's the guy who took credit for it.
So that's his statement.
I don't know if he's just being goofy or whatever, so I'm not sure.
But I'm surprised.
I assumed it was a state union.
Yeah, a public sector union.
And the relationship between the private sector unions and the public unions, I understand that they stand together for, you know, quote, solidarity or, you know, union mentality.
They stand with each other like that, but I'm kind of perplexed that at this point, you know, as bad as the economy is, that the private sector unions haven't looked at the public unions and said, yeah, well, our tax dollars are giving them these lavish pensions and salaries and sick days and all these ridiculous perks.
I wonder how many public sector people are on the unemployment line looking for work with the private sector union guys.
Right, there are a lot of private sector union guys who sit in the union hall every day and wait for work or they sit at home and I hear them all the time and I know some of them, I'm friends with some of them and they are out of work and somehow they don't link these lavish public pensions together with their lack of work and that's very strange to me.
Yeah, I'm with you, brother.
Adam, thank you very much.
Adam from We The People, ladies and gentlemen.
We're going to check in with the news.
We'll come back.
We'll take some of your calls.

We just had Adam from We the People of RI, a guy who was allegedly attacked at the union rally yesterday.
And I guess we have another person, Brian, excuse me, Dan's on the phone from Providence, who says he was there as well.
There's another cameraman there.
Dan, were you there?
Yep, I was Adam's camera guy.
We went together.
Potter, we are changing.
We're the people also.
We went there just on a neutral basis.
We were telling people, we express vividly.
We're not tea party members.
All we want to know is why you're doing the bashful tea party.
That's all we want to know.
We express so many times, we are not tea party members.
We're neutral.
And so you saw what happened?
and they can't understand the concept that if you're not right, you're not left, they can't understand the middle ground.
They can't understand there's no such thing as a middle point.
They think you're right or you're left.
And I'm like, we're not about that.
We're just about to know what's going on.
We're here as independent reporters.
That's all we are.
And so you saw what happened.
Was what Adam said completely accurate?
Oh, dead on accurate.
I was right beside him.
I'm putting the video right up on YouTube.
It should be up tonight.
It's BionicDnB.
That's one word for the YouTube channel.
I'm gonna put it up tonight and I got both video footages from me and the other party who refused to remain off the air, whatever.
And we're going to put this up and you can see the guy, he swiped Adam's camera and you can see him hit him right in the face.
We got two different camera angles showing us plus Adam's camera too.
And I thought for sure, I mean, things were going to get bloody there.
And I thought we were, because we were being surrounded at this point, people chanting.
And thank God for the Capitol Police because I thought for sure that we were about to throw some fists.
Yeah, it was just fat and nuts, man.
And, you know, these people are insane, you know what I mean?
And I've seen videos all over YouTube how they attack We Are Change, which is my group.
It's a worldwide organization.
And just because you don't agree with the political agendas, you know, you're automatically a Tea Party or a right-wing or whatever.
And they'll be the first individuals to start talking about intimidation tactics in the workplace.
Oh, absolutely.
They go promote that.
People will be intimidated against them.
The governor of Wisconsin and all that.
But they're the ones who are the most intimidating people.
And they think everybody's afraid of them.
And I'm glad.
I told Adam and I told the rest of the guys, no, let's press the charges.
We've got to make a stand against the union.
We're not going to run like everybody else.
Very interesting, Dan.
Thanks for backing up.
I appreciate the call.
