Time Text
How you doing ladies and gentlemen?
My name is Dan Baddani, host of Truth Radio on WALE 990 AM Guerrero Province, Rhode Island.
And also host of Truth Video right here on YouTube.
And today I want to touch on a very important topic today.
Today is July 27th of 2010.
And this is about Providence, Rhode Island.
Providence, I grew up in Providence.
I was born in Providence.
And I'm not a resident of Providence, but however, this is where it starts.
And this is going to, you know, follow suit through the state unless people do something about this now.
We need to vote certain corrupt individuals out of office.
And today I'm going to disclose what's going on.
The City of Providence Council voted last night to raise taxes from property owners in Providence while eliminating the Homestead Act, which helps save taxes to homeowners.
Experts say the increase will certainly raise the rents for tenants, cause more families to choose between food and housing for their children, create more homeless people, and lessen available housing and products.
It may also cause business to move out of products and increase the jobless rate, which it will.
I mean, taxes go up, business is going to leave.
It's going to be harder to afford rent and food at the same time.
Obviously, you've got to choose food first, so you're homeless.
Mayor Cicilline, David Cicilline, and mayoral candidate John Lombardi both say the high taxes is not what's good for families and products, which we know it's not.
They're against this bill.
They don't want the tax increase.
But however, city council member and tyrant Leon F. Tejada and other councilors say that they have enough votes to override any veto by the mayor and will force passage of this tax on products, families, and working people.
Now this is an elected official.
Let me disclose.
Leon F. Tejada, an elected official, a councilman, is supposed to help you people in Providence.
He's a councilman.
And he's here.
Now the mayor put a veto on this bill.
He doesn't want this bill.
And Leon Tejada is so hot up with this bill, he said he's got enough votes to override the veto of the mayor's decision.
And these are the dirt balls in Providence, Rhode Island that you need to vote out of office.
And that's right, this is coming from Truth Radio, Dan Bodondi on WALE 990 AM Greenville, Providence.
These are the dirt balls, people, okay, in Providence that you need to vote out at the next election.
Because these people, they're going to put a string hold on Providence.
They're going to cripple Providence.
I mean, you didn't get rents high enough.
I mean, they got landlords dropping their rents just to put people into the homes.
You know, they can't afford the homes already, so they have to lower the rent to just get people to move in.
And people are having a hard time, as it is with the economy and everything else.
And these dirtballs, led by Leon Tada, want to cripple you people out there.
These are the elected officials you voted in.
You need to vote them out in November.
And these officials include, these are the people who voted, okay?
Voted for this bill.
And this is the Prominent City Council members who voted for this measure are... Nicholas J. Nduci, he's from Ward 4.
Michael A. Solomon, Ward 5.
John J. Iglozozzi, whatever the hell his name is, Ward 7.
Leon Tejada, you know, he seems like to be leading the party here.
He's the Deputy Majority Leader of Ward 8.
And you can tell these members how you feel.
Terence Hassett, Majority Leader of Ward 12, Peter S. Mancini, Consul President of Ward 14, Joseph DeRuzzo, President Pro Tempro, Ward 15.
And you can tell these members how you feel.
You call them up.
You call them up tomorrow.
You let these idiots know, okay?
They are going to cripple Providence, Rhode Island.
And you think the tax is high now?
They want a 25% tax increase.
25%.
I'll get to the stats in a minute.
You've got to reach out to these people.
I mean, the City Council phone number out there is... I'm going to post it here.
It's 401-521-7477.
Again, 401-521-7477.
Okay, it's time for you people in Providence to take back your city.
We need to get these dirtballs out of office.
And bring Providence back the way it is.
And we've got to stand up and fight against these tyrants.
And a 25% tax increase.
A lot of people say it's not a big deal.
25% is a huge deal.
I mean, you think your rent is high enough?
It's going to force the landlord to raise the rent.
Without choice.
I mean, I can't break down enough how bad this is going to destroy products for them.
And you're going to see boarded up businesses like 30th Street for instance.
I mean, you're going to see store after store leaving.
You know, I mean, Providence, Rhode Island right now is, it's a great asset to Rhode Island.
I mean, you've gotten tons of clubs, people from, come from Massachusetts, Connecticut, all over just to come to our clubs every weekend.
I mean, we've got great attractions, the Waterfront Parents Fire, the fire in the water, and you've got Thayer Street and everything else, and what's going to happen when this increase goes?
You know, business is going to move out and it's going to become one of those ghost towns, per se.
You're going to see these bales of hay rolling down the street.
You know, it's not exaggerating.
This is what a tax increase would do.
And more than 125 property owners packed the council chambers to show their opposition to proposals which were part of a proposed tax levy of $284 million to $307 million for the fiscal year that began July 1st.
The tax levy is the amount that the city will raise from property taxes.
The council has said it will take up the spending portion of the budget after August recess.
And basically at an issue is the proposed elimination of tax break that allows non-owner occupied multifamily homes of less than five units to exempt 33% of the asset value from taxes.
Opponents say the plan would devastate landlords that have already lowered rents to combat vacancy rates and to keep up with the maintenance on aging homes.
And we don't, this is quoted from Kerry Doyle, President of Doyle Real Estate.
She quotes, we don't know where this money is supposed to come from.
And the profit margins are not as high as people assume.
And even with the tax rate increase and the loss of exemption, Councilman John Jay Lugosi, Chairman of the Council's Finance Committee, argued that more than 75% of property owners in the city will lower tax bills because of this year's property revaluation, which saw resident property values decline by an average of 30%.
He said that generally, Eastside landlords would be the brunt of this year's tax increase.
So if there's people living Eastside, you're going to have to take the hit for this year.
It's right there, Providence Journal.
Okay, this is July 27th.
And, um, Consul Majority Leader Terrence M. Hassett added that the Consul must approve the tax levy or it will not legally have the ability to raise the revenue needed to run the city government in the fiscal year.
Under this council's proposal tax levy, the tax rates would increase to $30.38 per $1,000 of assessed value for residents and $33.70 per $1,000 for commercial properties.
Now this is going to, again, this is going to destroy the economy of products for that one.
And this is where it stops, okay?
People in Pawtucket, Central Falls, Cumberland, Warwick, uh, Tiverton, wherever, okay?
You need to be aware of this, because once one city does one, the rest follow suit.
Okay?
You need to let these, even if you're not a resident of products, you call this number right now, 401-521-7477.
And I don't care if, wherever you're from, okay?
Call this number.
401-521-7477 and let these people know, okay, that you're not going to take it.
We will not stand for higher taxes and the tax increase.
You know, who gave these people dictatorial powers?
That's what I want to know.
And again, these dirt balls you need to vote out in November are Nicholas J. Noducci, Michael A. Solomon, John J. Iglosi, Leon F. Tejada, he's the major one, Balbina A. Young, Terence Hassett, Peter S. Mancini, Josephine DiRusso.
You need to vote these people out.
And not to note, Mr. Tejada is not a resident of Ward 8 in the first place.
How he got into office, I don't know.
He used A legal alien's residence in what, 66 Stanton Street he used.
Okay?
He's a legal, which he's a resident of the ACI.
He used a legal, he's a legal alien's residence.
He's not, by law he shouldn't even be a consulant.
Okay, this guy's a dirtball.
You need to vote him out.
And you tell him that Dan Badandi said so.
And this is Dan Badandi of Truth Radio.
And remember, get out there and call these idiots now.
Call these bums who want to destroy the province.
And call them and let them know how you feel.
This is Dan Badandi of Truth Radio saying so long and God bless.
